IU Baseball vs Iowa - April 7-9, 2023

Tied at 1 after 7 complete.

In our 7th we put runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and Whalen came thru with an RBI single.  First hit for us today with a  runner on base.  Infield out advanced runners to 2nd and 3rd for Tibbitts our RBI leader (37) but he struck out to end the  inning.  Risedorph takes the mound to start the 8th.

Misplayed grounder by Cerny allowed Iowa to take a 2-1 lead in the 8th.  

In our 8th we put runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and Serruto came through with an RBI single to tie it up.  He's 4-4 on the day.   Glasser is HBP to load the bases for Whalen who hits a 2-run RBI single and it's 4-2 Indiana leads.  Whalen 3-4 on the day so he and Serruto have 7 of our 11 hits on the day.  Taylor struck out to end the inning but we hold a 2-run lead into the 9th.

Risedorph remained on the mound and Iowa got a leadoff single to start the 9th but we got a badly needed double play and a strikeout ended the game with a 4-2 Hoosier win.  This was our 3rd consecutive B1G series win.  An absolute struggle but we did what we had to do to win yesterday and again today.
