Three women's basketball gurus at ESPN pick us for the Final Four and all have CTM winning national coach of the year. Only one, though, has Mack as a first-team All-American.

They also all have South Carolina winning it all. At this point, it's hard to argue against that -- they're exceptionally good.

Understandable, SC is a monster

The funny thing is, Mackenzie Holmes has already beaten South Carolina in her career: https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401166783

That was the only game South Carolina lost that year before everything was cancelled.

Yep. I remember that.

South Carolina trailed at the end of a quarter only four times that season in 34 games -- three of those quarters were against us.

Wow, we have a special team! Coach Moren has crafted a team and is coaching at the level of our beloved RMK. South Carolina is the real deal and probably the best team in the country; however, we are also an incredible team. I would love to see us play SC in the finals. I believe that CTM and staff will have our team prepared to win, and our players will deliver. It will take a lot to get to the final game, but I think we can do it. Go Hoosiers!

Arguably:  from top to bottom big ten is the best conference and IU Ladies probably have more wins against ranked teams than anyone in the country. There will be upset/s. And defense and if 3 balls fall from the sky and run the 6’7”? girl/s (not just SC but a couple others as well when they are in and low turnovers and turnover opponent/s and neutralize rebounding and foul problems and anything can happen. And who gets there? SC will lose a game if not this year…they will lose one day.

Remember the last second shot ND national championship defeats UCONN.

Has anyone anywhere did anymore than Mac Dog for her or his (including men) team? (Offensively and Defensively).  The T. Moren system!

Berger and Geary will go through Senior Night.  Mack And Sara Scalia will use COVID years and return for another year per Jared Kelly.

Chloe will be a senior next year.  She would also have a Covid the following year 24-25 if she wishes.  Is that correct?

Just realized this -- after our game with the PUs on Sunday, we will have played three games in seven days.

That's a pretty rugged stretch. Have no doubt we'll win Sunday, but wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't match the  beatdown we gave 'em in Mackey -- even with the sellout crowd and on Senior Day. I would imagine the ladies are getting a little fatigued.

Just glad we get a decent break before going to Iowa. We'll need it.

Although I actually think we could be a matchup nightmare for SC because they play too bigs that don’t like to defend outside the paint and we have shooters at 4 positions, I definitely don’t think there would be any shame losing to them in a national championship game.

That being said, can someone help me understand what I’ve seen in the mock brackets? We are currently the consensus second best #1 seed. But in the brackets that puts us in the Greenville 2 region. SC is the number one overall seed in the Greenville 1 region. Would that mean we’d be set up to play them in the final four if seeds hold?? I understand wanting to keep teams closer to home and that being bette than going out West, but as the overall second best seed that would seem kind of unfair to have to face SC before the title game.

I believe the two Greenville brackets are on opposite sides at the Final Four, as are the Seattle brackets -- meaning Greenville 1 plays Seattle 4 and Greenville 2 plays Seattle 3 in the national semifinals.

And those three games have been against #7, #13 and #12 in that order.  As a complete guess, I doubt any other team in the country has been tested like this in a regular season week.

I know it doesn't matter, but I can't figure out why we can't seem to get any higher than #5 in the NET rankings. How many highly ranked teams do we need to run out of the gym to be above 4-loss UConn or 3-loss Stanford?

The net is a weird system but the difference most likely comes down to UConn has not played a team that is in Quad 4 of the Net while we have two games in Quad 4.   Outside of that, we are pretty much equal on strength of wins.  Losses, like a close loss to SC, also improves their Net.  Thus, why it is weird.
