Aaron may disagree, but I don't feel like this team is College Cup material. Too many ties.

I 100% agree. This team and this defense is NOT college cup material at the moment and you need a good defense to win championships. They are giving up way to many goals. Today was partly Rutgers' offense which is legit (although the Scarlet Knights have no chance of winning tournament games with how bad their defense is) and both teams started throwing extra men behind the ball in the second half to prevent free shots at the goal like in the first half and as a result both team's offenses stalled.

This IU team plays really well at home and less so on the road. The good news is the three best teams we play still in PSU, Maryland, and UK are at all at home (and only road games left are Wisconsin and Evansville who are the worst D1 teams we will see this year) and we need those wins to work towards a top 16 seed and bye in NCAA Tournament.  Our RPI right now is 27. If we can get a top 8 seed somehow and only need to win one tough road game to get to College Cup we might have a chance. Assuming that doesn't happen though and we either get a top 16 seed or are unseeded no chance team gets beyond second round or Sweet 16.

Chances at a Big Ten Title are over but if we can win against the top teams at home (or go 2-0-1) and no worse than tie the bad ones on the road, we can at least get a top 4 seed to host the first game of the Big Ten Tourney and should be in great position for a top 16 seed in NCAA Tourney.
