I think the team is still feeling themselves out. So much "new". 
I won't start getting overly critical about stuff till mid season when the rotation if baked, and guys are comfortable in the new system.
A lot of open questions like you said, but there's some clear areas of improvement (3pt, FT). 
I'm more than happy at this point. But of course I want more. 

How are the “run before dribbling”, “having the ball ripped from you”, and “throwing it nowhere near your teammate” attributable to “new?”

I would understand if one was digging while the other was expecting zagging but I haven’t seen a lot of that. I don’t think we’ll be close to averaging 20+ turnovers but it’ll continue to be an issue, until it’s not. This team hasn’t done much to show it’s not. Also, we’re getting high turnover numbers from players that will play a lot of minutes going forward and shouldn’t be turning it over at that rate.

When you have a "new" scheme, "new" starters, "new" coach, you tend to "think" more... 

When you're thinking too much, and not playing naturally, you do stupid stuff like running before dribbling. 

On top of new/thinking, there's new/chemistry.

We'll see. I don't disagree with the area of improvement that you mention, I just disagree with you on the root cause, and perhaps the ability overcome.
