Oh I get it. Still a little insane.  If that’s the case guess they will have to forfeit their tourney game too

Sounded like Maryland didn’t have depth at all, and wasn’t Covid issues at all. Maybe they have a lot injured players?

The cynical side of me says it has something to do with the fact that Maryland couldn’t move up or down in the standings

Maybe, could be trying to position themselves into a good spot in the Tournament

For the 17th time in program history, the No. 5 Indiana men's soccer team (7-1-0) has been crowned Big Ten Conference champions after the cancelation of Sunday's match against the Maryland Terrapins.

The Hoosiers have won the league title in each of the last three seasons and 17 total times in the program's illustrious history. The three-peat is the first for IU since claiming nine-consecutive championships from 1996-2004.

The 2020-21 Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament begins on Saturday, April 10, with the quarterfinals hosted by the top four seeds at campus sites. The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, April 14, at the sites of the highest two remaining seeds, while the final is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, at the highest remaining seed.

So Maryland plays a much stronger Penn St team into a tie then cancels our game to give IU the outright trophy. What a sequence! Penn St must be big mad at themselves right now.

I’m not convinced Penn State was that superior.

Maryland started the year off rough but had won 4 straight games.

Penn State didn’t play the #1 team.  Or the number 3 Team in the conference.  And Tied the 4th(Maryland). So all their wins were

For sure. The gap between IU, PSU, Maryland and Mich with the rest of the league is very wide. IU also benefited by not playing PSU and Maryland and really stole a win vs. Michigan.

Really hard to say who the best team is with the COVID cancellations. All that is clear is that the top four are miles ahead of the bottom five.

Penn St was playing well, already beat Maryland once, handily beat a Rutgers team Maryland lost to and was at full strength. Maryland clearly wasn’t at full strength however had been playing well...I still give Penn St the nod in that matchup. Penn St expected to win that game

Yeah. For sure. IU I think at their peak was better than all. But also capable of some real bad games.  Hence our loss to NW and that terrible first half against Michigan.

Key is to now win the b10 tourney and get a good seed in the NCAA Tourney
