Legalization of marijuana and such

Someone mentioned in another thread about pot being legalized. That reminded me about CBD oil. I've talked to several people who have used it and swear by it and a few that tried it but it didn't work. Has anyone used it? What are your thoughts?

 

I'm a (medically) retired vet who has had some back issues; slight bulge in one disc, fissure in another, and arthiritus. The pain has ranged from manageable on good days to laying flat on the floor in terrible pain on bad days. Has anyone used CBD oil to manage pain? I have an appointment with my doctor soon and will hopefully be able to discuss it with her. However, the VA in Southern Indiana is extremely slow on these type of things. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It’s ok. Depends how much you spend. Not all CBD are created equal. I would definitely do some research and I bet you can find something that would be beneficial.

My wife uses oil and a lotion for chronic (see what I did there) neck pain and migraines. As mdn said, not all cbd are equal. The stuff she gets from the local discount tobacco store is hit or miss. The good stuff from the local head shop ( yes those are still around) is pretty solid. She goes up to Michigan sometimes and can get some higher mg stuff since they are a medical state. She uses the lotion for a quick relief if she is having a big flare up and the oil as more of preventative if she is starting to get sore. Good luck!

Thanks for the info peeps! I have semi-annual urinalysis/drug screens. I've read that most oils contain such a low amount of THC, 0.05%, that it won't show. They wanted to keep me on opioids but, from what I've heard, they don't endorse CBD oil.

Gotta keep big pharm happy!!

Depends on who is doing the drug screen. You can get a drug screen kit at Walgrens that is more stringent than 95% of employer mandated tests ( because they all use the same labs for their analysis). If you're worried at all about passing a test, I can help you out there too ;)

A lot of places don’t even send in their drug screens. They just want to see if you will take it

Haha, thanks. I'm not in the least concerned about passing drug screens. It's the VA so I'm pretty sure they actually send them in. I just don't want to lose benefits because I choose to use something that will do less harm to my body than what they prescribe.

Honestly my utilizing Cannabis in any way I don’t feel anything wrong with it and it bothers me as long as I am a productive member of society. But vets are on another level. There should be no boundaries to assisting vets due to their sacrifice of protecting our freedom. IMO

Agreed. I’d rather they use cannibis over destroying their life with an opioid addiction.

My mother uses CDB oils for her MS.  Also I give my 14 year chocolate lab CBD oil for old age pains.  My mother swears by it and can tell a major difference in my dog when she is on it.
