  1. If folks don’t like this thread, I promise Scott Dolson will tell everyone who the next coach is.
  2. I don’t like Mike. Though I agree treat him the best we can on the way out because that’s the high road. However, at the end of the day what’s best for IUBB is the priority. So if announcements needs to be made to be ready for the portal, etc., do it and Mike can cry into his $8.4M buyout. I think it’s likely Scott knows exactly what to do, I’m just saying it anyways.
  3. Good vibes here today. I love it. Personally, I just want the media folks that cover IU to get a whiff of this news (doesn’t need to be enough for a tweet or article, just a whiff) and I’ll let myself really start to believe.
  4. Thanks Isaac. Edit: Kathy
  5. He could be correct. But he totally missed on Cig, so he may not be. He doesn’t have any sources in the athletic dept, especially after last year’s debacle with the coach change rumors.
  6. Yea, I follow you, I'm just thinking out loud. I really want to see some of the terms in those rev share contracts which will be tied to playing…
  7. A) This will be a no, per the rules NIL cannot be tied to playing. I know that sounds crazy because it's effectively "pay for play," but technically they're just getting paid for their name, image, and likeness.
  8. I didn't take it that way. I just posted it was a "guess" one more time since this thread moves fast and I want to be clear no one is saying it's Tommy. Aside from Brad, I am clueless who else it might be, especially since the lack of news makes it feel like Scott has his guy right now. McDermott, Wade, Beard, and Brownell seem to be no's or not interviewed. It would be hard for that guy to be McCollum (just starting D1) or Dusty (just starting a foundation at a P2 job). I guess Shaka got an interview. So...we shall see... it's quite the mystery...
  9. This search has been amazingly quiet and it seems Scott may have someone already. But aside from Brad I have no idea who it may be. I made a guess Tommy could be a surprise candidate in some post a few pages back. Other people have brought him up too the past month or so. sirhoosierlot made a great connection to a RTZ gif which was great, but probably not was RTZ meant by the gif. Nice find to get his actual extension document. $9M... if there is a will there could be a way.
  10. Check out their athletic dept financial issues. Some of that impacts how much donor $ goes to NIL. Just what I’ve heard. It’s a guess and a long shot. $9M buyout would be tough, Tommy would have to be reasonable with his salary.
  11. Yea, I meant Tuscan is 1,200 miles from the western part of Washington state. Bloomington is 1,700. Bad wording on my end.
  12. He’s already 1,200 miles from home in Tuscan, whats 500 more to be 1,700 miles away in Bloomington? edited for meaning
  13. Great connection! Thanks.
  14. Lloyd is one name out there that seems like a possible surprise candidate. AZ isn’t in the best financial shape and Tommy supposedly doesn’t like his AD. There are no good jobs in the PNW, so Tommy will have to stay far from home if he wants a big program. This situation could have led Tommy to connect with Scott a while back and get this mostly wrapped up by the time Woody was fired. I’m just guessing at some other angles that explain how quiet this search has been.
  15. That would be the funniest day of my life.
  16. Ha. If you're not in this thread you are not up to date with what's going on with the IUBB coach search!
  17. Just my opinion, but we should have torn up those phone/text records and made sure Kelvin was more careful (use burners man!). However, the other significant issue with him was what you mention above -- his team culture was out of whack. And we also had guys like Bud Mackey committed! In addition to fixing the calls/texts, we also needed the President and AD to talk to Kelvin about cleaning up the team culture to some extent -- we don't need a team of choir boys or anything like that, but what he had going wasn't very good. Oh well, it's well in the past now.
  18. Ha. It went down yesterday too and reappeared sometime this morning from what I can tell. We’ll see if it comes back. Frankly, the max bets are so small and lines move on basically nothing it’s probably not a useful predictive tool like a real Sportsbook that can handle normal levels of action.
  19. Fwiw I’ve heard via a non-Peegs source we aren’t talking with him. As I mentioned before, I can’t know for sure but we don’t seem to be talking with hardly anyone. Sure makes it seem like we have someone already. Fingers crossed.
  20. We hired Sampson. Edit: And Kevin Wilson. Well-known drinker.
  21. I must have moved the line, sorry guys.
  22. BetOnline finally posted some Brad odds, +5000 right now, or 50/1 or 2%. https://www.betonline.ag/sportsbook/futures-and-props/ncaam-specials/coaches The folks with the Brad sources should find placing a bet here to be appealing!
  23. Fwiw I heard we didn’t interview him.
  24. The more I hear about coaches we didn’t talk to and how the usual folks covering coach searches have heard hardly anything, the more I think Scott has had someone for awhile.
