I understand if folks are skeptical of the anon rumors on this board or elsewhere. That's fair. I am, though I enjoy hoping they're right when they talk up the big hires. There is a group that is skeptical of the positive rumors (again, fair enough), but then some of them turn around and create quite the negative narrative out of thin air themselves. It's a free board, so people can do whatever they want, I just don't think we know enough to get negative either. Waiting stinks, but as of now it's hard to get very positive or very negative. That's just my view, people may disagree that's cool.

Great point on NIL. I am guessing the new coach will do a double-take when he sees the NIL levels Woody has some of these guys at. It's all up to the new coach, but I am fine with no players returning. With respect to our recruits, Sisley is committed to IU the program -- love that! Zrno committed with Woody about to get fired and he has no connection to IU, which leads me to believe he is another guy who might be on sky high NIL that may not make sense... we shall see.

As of right now, the few people I know in media that cover CBB/IU haven’t heard anything on Brownell. Of course that can change but that’s what they say.

He would cost us too in terms of lower donations from underwhelmed fans and I doubt gameday revenue would trend in the right direction. We’ll see what happens — he doesn’t make much sense as the person to hire.

Honest question: I may have missed it, but I can’t find anything on X about Thamel listing Ben, Brad B, and Devries as top candidates for our job (edit: I get he did this on ESPN). I would think there would be a lot more tweets about this. Was there other context?

Yea. And he missed on all sorts of portal transfer predictions despite having a source on the team… which is a good source to have! Tyme doesn’t have a good source for the coach search. He’s guessing like most people.

I was surprised this morning IU was +240 to make it (this includes first four). I took that, I think we are in.

If folks don’t like this thread, I promise Scott Dolson will tell everyone who the next coach is.

I don’t like Mike. Though I agree treat him the best we can on the way out because that’s the high road. However, at the end of the day what’s best for IUBB is the priority. So if announcements needs to be made to be ready for the portal, etc., do it and Mike can cry into his $8.4M buyout. I think it’s likely Scott knows exactly what to do, I’m just saying it anyways.

Good vibes here today. I love it. Personally, I just want the media folks that cover IU to get a whiff of this news (doesn’t need to be enough for a tweet or article, just a whiff) and I’ll let myself really start to believe.

He could be correct. But he totally missed on Cig, so he may not be. He doesn’t have any sources in the athletic dept, especially after last year’s debacle with the coach change rumors.
