I checked my list and #842 was only about ½ day down on the list...
-
Not a 100% sure, but I THINK I'm actually older than you. I know I'm older than dirt. Can you beat that?
-
That's reason #842 why I'm not on any social media.
-
You certainly could be right, but I wouldn't think them being there as "spectators" would be "illegal" or against any rules. After all, it is where they work.... But I don't know, I'm just an old fart.

Miller Kopp to Indiana (Northwestern Transfer)
DWB replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sorry...but that doesn't make any sense. Tough to imagine Miller carrying a ton of cash around Vlogs don't pay in cash...at least YT doesn't Could be "Magic Money" (fake $$ to perform magic tricks) (just speculation on my part) -
Why start a burner acct if true?

But just for entertainment value....what's the supposed fake report about? -
Based on the "signals" I'm picking up, I doubt it will be a full house. Still lots of promoting everywhere I look on IUMBB twitter, HH twitter (naturally) and some of the players. Personally I think the announced format is hurting. It's a "perceived" clone of the same event that occurred a few weeks ago. Since it's to benefit the players only, I wonder if the coaching staff will be there. I would hope so. I was planning on attending but when they said it was general admission seating (for the most part), I decided to go to a real game instead. 11 hour drive for me. Hope I'm wrong and it's a complete sell out !!

IIRC it wasn't an "official" video. Taken by a fan and posted on his YT channel. Not there anymore (probably at the request of the staff)

IU 78 EMU 62 -
Wait til Rob or X put some real defense on him....maybe we can get that up to 10-12 !
-
Kind of surprised to see PU with 21 turnovers. Hope they keep that up !!
-
That's my opinion. I've spent a big part of my adult life experiencing IU competing for Big 10 titles. I expect it. I hope a lot of other fans do to.
-
Agreed. But several wanted to post details like 3's, FT's and win by 11. I chose to discuss the 3's. That's been our biggest weakness for the past several years, with FT's a close 2nd. Guys want to take me to task for discussing it? Fine. I'm a big boy. 34% is better than 24% but less than 39%. Glad we "won" whatever the circumstance and format. That's always a good start.

For us "Old Farts" (of which I may be the oldest on here) I've witnessed a lot of ups, and a lot of downs. Fortunately, there have been far more ups, than downs since 1970. I'm used to us competing for Big 10 titles. I believe Woody will get us there. The question is when? None of us know. I'm just anxious.
-
Oh...I have many. Just haven't talked about them. Too early, because I haven't seen them play a real game. But this stat was one that was shared.
-
It's called a snapshot of progress. And yes, if we don't compete for a B1G title (notice I didn't say "win a B1G title") then we're no better off. I believe we'll be much better, but good enough? Too early to say, but everyone has there own measuring stick. Mine is just different than some others. To each his own.
-
OK...OK I get it. You guys are pumped because we "won". And that is always good. I don't remember, what did we shoot from 3 in the Bahama's? I have no doubt we will be competitive this year. I just want us to compete for the B1G title. And not settle for something less. I don't think we're thinking like that, but I don't give a damn how we compare to the last 4 years. I care how we get a B1G title.
-
Of course...but I"m not looking for "better", I'm looking for Greatly improved. Too early to judge, I know, and we don't know the details of the scrimmage, but 8 for 23 won't get it done in the B1G.
-
Perhaps...but I don't believe 34% wins the B1G which is the stated goal by Woody.
-
8 for 23 isn't so hot FWIW I watched a RMK clinic on YT last night and he made a big deal about not just going out and "free shooting" by yourself. It doesn't replicate game conditions. He always had another player/mgr putting pressure on the shooter for every shot. I've seen a ton of clips showing guys shooting by themselves with a rebounder, rather than putting pressure on them to create game conditions. Good point by RMK

Leal & Galloway are my favorite 2 players...because they hustle. Leal came in a game last year, got 2 or 3 three's and because CAM was so stubborn to change lineups, Leal didn't get any more minutes going forward. He can play defense, he can shoot. Just needs the green light from Coach (which I think he'll get from Woody).

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
DWB replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
What's a shot fake? I can only remember one in the last 4 years, and that was a head fake from Brunk under the basket. Still can't remember a pass fake either... Imagine what a good pass fake could do for a real shooter... -
Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
DWB replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Fife was on AJ's podcast recently and stated that Woody has already taught him (and the team) so much about the "game". Assuming that's true, I think we could be pleasantly surprised by the results this year. We beat a semi-pro team twice that was bigger, stronger, and known for its 3 pt shooting. We didn't shut them down, but there were very few uncontested shots. I've heard multiple players and coaches talk about team scrimmages, and how the 2nd unit beat the first on more than one occasion. To me that indicates we're REALLY deep, with little, if any fall off in talent and skill. I also believe Woody will not hesitate to substitute whenever necessary to get the most productive team on the floor. Unlike what we had to endure for the past several years of the exact same starting line ups, and wholesale subs at the 16:00 minute time out, no matter if a player was red hot, he was coming out. I even remember throwing things at the TV when Crean did the same thing. A guy got hot, and Crean yanked him. I doubt if we'll see that kind of rotation under Woody. Wouldn't be surprised to see several different starting lineups, depending on the opponents either, instead of the same ol'-same ol' lineup every game. It was obvious to most of us that a kid had earned his Candy Stripes in the previous game, only to be relegated to the bench. Tough to stay motivated like that. Every player I've heard has said the same thing..."you have to earn your minutes". Man...I'm getting pumped to see what these guys are capable of. Go Hoosiers!
