  1. it's definitely true. One change doesn't reflect what he did over 4 years at all. He stuck with his starters no matter what, insert Race immediately as soon as he could walk on the floor no matter that he was clearly still injured and played terrible, etc. etc. Woody's stubbornness was on full display for 4 years and lineups were certainly a part of it. Thank God he's gone, worst coach I've watched in the B1G and he was ours for 4 years. Purgatory.
  2. I went to basketball game and a hockey game broke out
  3. NWU leading Neb early in the 2nd
  4. Didn’t read through it as you prefaced it was about football.
  5. Honestly, at home? Wouldn’t want it any other way. Who wants fans to be nice to Izzo lol
  6. Most efficient offense in KenPom history? Ugh. This is a game where we have to be hitting on all cylinders from outside and playing as feisty as possible inside, their size is such a ridiculous advantage
  7. I'm a believer too. Would add that if we play well down the stretch and Lamar shows up with high scoring in the NCAA tourney, he could very well move up into 2nd-round draft pick consideration. He's an elite perimeter scorer, that's coveted in today's NBA.
  8. So do we finish 11-9 or 10-10? I can’t see 12-8 or worse than .500, but also can’t convince myself between 11-9 and 10-10 Do think we have a legit shot vs MSU (and screw Izzo)
  9. - Is that from a regular drip coffee maker? - Already ground in a can, or did you grind the beans- and if so when when were they roasted? - Do you keep beans in an airtight container or (God forbid) it’s like Folgers ground straight from the can? - have you considered pour-over? Happy @Stuhoo? hahaha
  10. He’ll pass at least Yogi and Blackmon. Special player
  11. Omg @josh in dead last for the 3rd time! Lol
  12. Call me crazy (fair lol) but if we do stay on course and get in, with the kind of solid, tenacious play they’ve shown over the past 6 games, this is the kind of team that can be dangerous and get hot in March — outside shooting, experienced, aggressive D, good point guard play, low TO team. If you’re on the other side of the bracket might have concerns seeing IU.
  13. He's doing pretty damn well right now. There's always games left to be played until the end -- important that we close well, yes not in yet, but holding off on recognizing that he's doing a heck of a job right now, winning 5 of last 6 including road games? It doesn't hurt to recognize things at this point in time look pretty good. Imo that we have a good coach is pretty clear now.
  14. Wilkerson's making a case to be in the group of IU's best scorers ever, second 40-plus game of the season. Love watching him light it up.
  15. I thought they'd cover the line but ... damn!
  16. And we be taking care of Business every day taking care of business every way We be taking care of business it’s all mine Taking care of businesses and working over time whoo Alright
  17. Oregon almost beat PU, can’t take anything for granted, hustle beats talent if talent doesn’t hustle
  18. IU - 81 Oregon - 71 Thinking positive, going with the over
  19. Measuring yr 1, imo DeVries is right now very much on target, and while starting late with a completely bare cupboard of 0 players and assistants didn’t do him any favors, and the roster isn’t good (athletic, balanced, deep) enough to compete at the top, his choices and coaching show promise. - Identified, focused on and beat UK for Wilkerson. such a key decision and effective move, a fantastic addition. What he’s doing in lighting up the outside including setting IU records is also good for future HS and portal recruiting- that shouldn’t be overlooked. Shooters now will look hard at IU - The season after 4 years of Woodson’s complete disregard of perimeter shooting- the impact of that is completely ignored in this thread. - while he couldn’t otherwise land top tier portal talent, for reasons which should be obvious (late timing, IU’s image after 8 years of mediocrity, 0 players on roster), he built a core of winning veterans, guys who stood out and won at their level and who were high character guys who would play well together as a team, and including Alexis, championship experience and toughness up front - his value was on high display against Wisconsin, and strong point guard play. - Adjustments, late game play calling, winning in OT against good teams and on the road in the B1G — and unlike prior coaches’ end of season collapses, we’re watching the team win 4 of their last 5 including the road and in games which together we’re probably necessary to make the tourney. Not there yet, important games still to play, but as of now? Definitely a tourney team and DeVries’ coaching, lineup decisions, and the roster he built is all part of that. I think (and hope) the team will close the season well enough to make the tourney, they look tourney quality right now. Under all these circumstances, that’s a good 1st year for me. Next offseason is going to be important for sure. Returning probably Dorn, Sisley, Miles — maybe Harris, with Alexander- Moody, Karvala and Manhetz is decent, and particularly if we make the tourney and look decent in it (I think we will), ability to land higher level portal players is right there, and this time DeVries will have time to recruit the portal with an intact roster to complement the portal players being recruited. So all of this is why I just find the initial purpose of this thread ridiculous. The team is on the right path right now, gotta have at least some patience to let it play out.
  20. Exactly— Funny we’re talking about whether we got 2 favorable calls — just think if neither of those calls had been made and we got hosed at home, by the refs. How would this convo sound then? I’m happy we’re on the other side of that convo, with the calls correctly made
  21. Was thinking how they showed that kind of mental toughness way back in pre-season in that come from behind game in PR. It’s not the most talented team obviously but it is a team of mentally tough and tenacious kids who get after it and never give up. Love the toughness, can be a difference in March.
