  1. Yeah Miles played pretty big minutes and fairly solidly— he also had that critical out of bounds save towards the end. He wasn’t playing well earlier in the year but is playing better and has more experience for a game like this one
  2. Yup- great bball game, late game scoring drought but a heck of a game
  3. And we’ve won 4 of last 5. Say what you will about late game fugly ball but this is a tourney team. And it’s so nice to see end of game smooth FT shooting (thank you Wilkerson)
  4. Alexis’s 4 blocks and timely boards just outstanding edit - 5 blocks, with his 19 pts and 7 boards - great, great game from Sam
  5. Btw great individual D on Blackwell on his drive and shot at end of regulation— thought he was going to win it for the cheese heads but the D forced him into a weak shot.
  6. New nickname: Cardiac Kidd Jesus Christ already, lol
  7. Hate Wisconsin with a capital H. Started with the Grinch. Before him we beat Wiscy with ease over decades. Since him and IU's fumbling through coaches it's been a regular struggle with the cheese heads, and their fans, what a bunch of clowns. Get this W, and start us back on the Wiscy beatdown path.
  8. I don't mean to get into the middle of the back and forth here and won't post more on this, but seems to me that some of this is kind of over the top, and there's legitimate history behind his post that's getting overlooked. I've been on these boards since the early 2000's and used to mod as well -- we've had recruit's family members, player family members (like Yogi's mom, etc.), and players at times reading and posting on some of these IU boards. Yes this is just a message board in a little corner of the Internet, and posting is just random IU fans sending out their thoughts in real time in this (imo) great space for IU peeps, and it's not like any of this really matters in the grand scheme of things ------ but, it is worth thinking about how, e.g., recruits, recruits' families, players and/or players' families might take some of the (imo) inane and visceral negativity that's sometimes posted. (No, I def don't mean to suggest thought policing, just my two cents on its worth considering impact on people out there)
  9. The “edge”is too cool for the committee. More like the turd.
  10. They’re not on the edge right now, realistically they’re solidly in. In all fairness we never really know the committee is sometimes completely idiotic or, uh, internally motivated to pick and not pick certain teams (ahem, UNC last season), but while it will be big for IU to beat Wisconsin (God I still hate them) and Sparty (can’t the little whiner just retire already), neither is a must win. That said I’ll feel much more comfortable with a W over Wisc.
  11. They’re playing a lot better over this past 4 games. Won’t know until the game is played but looking back at Iowa doesn’t really say anything at this point
  12. Gutted out the W, glad they’ve found some success in this hard season, and a nice game from Caffey
  13. Caffey looking good 3-4 and 2-2 from deep for 8, IU down 1 end of 1st
  14. Couple post-game thoughts. We drew to within 2 in the closing minute or so but couldn't finish, on the road following the big W against UCLA and despite Dorn not being able to hit (gotta give some credit to USC's perimeter D, it's solid). Regardless of the result, we look like a legit team over the past 4 games. I have some cautious optimism going forward.
  15. Rebounds, possessions and something like 5 more shots (plus refs) is why we’re down. We’re shooting better. More efficiently, but can’t win shooting so fewer shots unless you’re hitting all your 3’s and we’re around 33% (they do guard the 3 well). Maybe Dorn starts hitting 2nd half. But keep possession and at least shoot more to get the W
  16. Not going to be easy. Could go either way, but I'll go for our Hoosiers IU - 77 USC - 74
  17. ^^^ To raise our collective blood pressure, we could have a countdown to selection Sunday post in this thread, lol. As it stands now we're comfortably in by almost any measure, but still have lots of work to do and that position is by no means secure. USC is not a must-win game, but it's one of those few at least apparently 'winnable' road games left on the schedule. i say apparently bc USC isn't bad, it's a streaky team, and we're coming off a big double OT win and that brings questions about whether they can stay fully 'up' for this game and whether there will be any carry-over fatigue (couple days' rest). Hope they're full go and attacking with energy against USC, and then we have a bunch of meaningful February games - March is coming soon.
  18. Good timing as well - high IQ. He gets to spots quickly like the play at the end leading to FTs
