  1. ....we definitely need to land one of these highly coveted, big $$ transfers, then build around. I'm just a little leery and hoping it won't end up like a "Dalton Knecht" type situation again. I know Woodson was a part of that one, but still....... lol
  2. I think so many of these negative posters seem to forget or choosing not to remember that Dolson knew how difficult it was going to be for Coach DeVries to find assistants and build a team late, last year. Speaking on the Don Fischer radio show in March 2026, Dolson commended head coach Darian DeVries for assembling a team under difficult circumstances, noting it was the "craziest time" to take over a program due to the transfer portal environment. “The transition in basketball, it was probably the craziest time... to ever take over a program the way the portal was, so I really commend Darian that we were able to put the roster together to at least get us through this season.” Dolson followed this by expressing confidence that DeVries would "hit his stride" now that the program has a full year of experience under the new staff.
  3. ^^^this! Did ANYONE even expect or see Dolson and President Whitten putting out all that money to put Coach Cignetti at the top of the NCAA pay scale. There is more money or at least the ability to get whatever is needed to pay for what they feel will help and benefit IU athletics.
  4. .....look, money IS going to be there at IU, it always has been, especially if it's worthy of investing for improvements..... (IU Football, Coach Cignetti and his staff say hello!) Dolson and Co. are not going to let IU BB get another late start and end up grabbing scraps at the end just to build a roster. JMO,.... but big money will be spent on this roster. It's funny when people on here try to say that we can't afford or won't pay that amount of money for certain players......! We absolutey have to spend money and probably more than we would like to spend, but that is the current state of competeing as a P5 school right now. IU has a plenty of NIL money and deep pockets, especially after Dolson's '25-'26 comments about supporting CDD and building last year's roster to "get by".....because of time. Dolson's current project is getting IU BB back to the top or at least relevent. Bottom line, money will be spent and definitely thrown at players this year to build a dramatically, BIGTEN worthy team. After that, it's up to Coach DeVries and his staff to bare the fruit. jmo
  5. ....maybe,.... but respectfully, I actually disagree. jmo Like someone posted on here a few days ago, if we have to overpay a player to come her, so be it......, as long is it's an investment in a starting, impact player that is BIG TEN ready. Bring em on!
  6. http://pn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48372927/expected-no-1-fernando-mendoza-puts-show-indiana-pro-day ....what I took from that video was what he said at the very end as he speaks about not the player, but the also the person... He said,...."I can definitely see this guy leading any franchise and if I were the owner, I want this guy without question!"
  7. ....yes, it's a shame. At some point his extreme height will only get him so far and then his lack of foot speed and overall strength has him boxed into a corner. jmo
  8. ....and with that being said, why wouldn't anyone NOT want to play for Coach Cignetti and IU? That's what goes through my mind with a player like, 4* RB Isaiah Rogers. It's been mentioned that Notre Dame may be the leader now. If more money or a bidding war is part of it, then you know how Coach Cignetti feels about that. https://hoosierstateofmind.com/hoosiers-losing-ground-to-in-state-rival-as-elite-4-star-rb-nears-commitment-decision-01kmxpw22evd
  9. ....sometimes I wake up and say, "Is this real life?" lol
  10. IU bb has been connected with Bradley sophomore guard ….. It could be this guy…. Jaquan "Bully" Johnson is a standout MVC player known as a "bulldog" (or "Bully") for his physical, downhill style, averaging 16.9 points and 2.5 steals in 2025-26. The 5'11" Milwaukee native, nicknamed for his tough, scrappy play style, entered the NCAA transfer portal in March 2026.
  11. ....now, what's your prediction? Since your latest post of his brother, Reece just getting an offer from IU. I definitely like how this is potentially shaping up!
  12. ....I've seen this video countless times and it never gets old! After IU's blocked punt and touchdown, the second best part of this video is the priceless reaction from Miami's coaching staff AND thier fans!
  13. ..... Cignetti is also big on preserving the culture of his program. He says he won’t budge when transfer prospects make demands. “When I have a guy and they want to be promised this or that, playing time, they’ve told me ‘I’m going to start,’ no, no. I’ve never done that and never would,” Cignetti said. “How could I possibly not lose the locker room if I’m promising guys that they will do this or they will do that? Everything’s earned.” ......it's so comforting knowing that we have a leader in Coach Cignetti who always sticks to his guns without hesitation. When any coach in any sport can get that rare type of respect followed by repeated, positive results,....it's thing of beauty!
  14. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/typically-careful-with-words-scott-dolson-sent-a-strong-message-to-iu-basketball-fans/ This article is where the quote that Dolson mentions "building a roster to just get by" in a short amount of time....
  15. ......I know this has been posted before, but the more I read it, Dolson's comments made sort of had me scratching my head. Did Dolson allow sort of a "cheap roster, scab" team to get us to 2026? lol We did get a gem when we landed Wilkerson. Indiana AD Scott Dolson commended coach Darian DeVries for assembling the 2025-26 basketball roster quickly under difficult circumstances, describing it as a group meant to "get us through this season". The roster was viewed as a temporary fix, with plans for a more intentional team build in the 2026-27 season.
  16. ...apparently you didn't catch my obvious sarcasm......
  17. ....Dolson can really earn his AD of the Year award he just recieved for 2025-2026 if Devries can get things turned around next year.
  18. >>>insert sarcasm here.... .....that award HAS to be for "Best AD Of The Year for Football". lol
  19. ....I would imagine we will start hearing chatter about current IU players either entering the transfer portal or staying soon. I also wouldn't be surprised to hear of DeVries making some coaching staff changes.
  20. lol....Obviously there are better teams getting paid, but yes,......money/NIL is part of the issue with certain players, not the sole issue.
  21. ......Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti has established a strict team-first culture, emphasizing that players focused solely on money, especially those asking for NIL funds immediately, will not play for the Hoosiers. Cignetti, who led Indiana to an 11-2 season in 2024, prioritizes commitment and development over a "bidding war" mentality. ....and this philosophy won't change either!
