I am trying to think of an IU player in the last 20-30 years that has regressed like Smith. Hope he turns it around.

And Fitzner being a consistent stretch 4, and much better defense and less turnovers. So far we are 0-7 in those expectations.

We did get better during the year. We also lost the last three games of the year including a 19 TO loss to Nebraska and a loss to Rutgers. I thought we started horribly, got much better and then faded a bit at the end of the season.

I don’t understand the “where is Moore” posts every game. Archie knows he needs more bigs, DD and Morgan frequently get in foul trouble, there are “big man” minutes sitting on a platter but yet Archie sees Moore practice every single day and decides not to play him. The reason is very obvious......He is not ready/good enough.

I see posts relating to issues in which people would like to see improvement but virtually no posts in which posters are “jumping ship” on Archie. Does pointing out things that did not go well in a game (or games) equate to jumping ship? Not in my opinion. Rather than jump ship I hope we have a great season, get healthy and go to the tourney. If that happens the curb-stomping in Durham and two “sleep walking” home games against extension schools will just be a blip in the season.

I agree. We obviously are not playing well, turning the ball over at an alarming rate etc but mentioning the obvious somehow leads to “jumping off the cliff” and “you think we should fire Archie now” comments. What are we supposed to say after the last three games? Nice try? Go team go? No, I am not jumping off the cliff nor saying we should fire Archie. I do say “the jury is still out” on him as it is with every new employee that has not exceeded expectations. I didn’t think we would beat Duke (in the prediction thread I picked Duke 88-67, very close, but did not expect us to lay down from the start) or hang a banner. I did hope that in year two we would protect the ball, hit free throws, continue to improve the improving defense, play hard with focus and have some sort of offense. I was at the Duke game and began to feel sorry for Romeo as he ran around trying to get the ball and do something. He is a slasher but we did virtually nothing to help open angles to the basket for him, set screens, nothing. We allegedly have 2 of the 8 or 10 best players in the BT but do very little to increase their opportunities on offense. Lets hope we see Marquette type performances the next 4 games.

I’m not so sure that losing Romeo, Morgan, McBob and Fitzner but adding TJD and Brooks vaults us into the top ten.

I agree with 8 team playoff. Only adds one more weekend and having the opening round around Dec 23rd will not extend the season. The ratings would be through the roof for 4 more games and it would allow a non-power 5 school in. It would add eyeballs but not hurt the existing bowls as there are already too many and the only people that care about the Motor City Bowl, as an example, are the participating schools and channel surfers. That won’t change because of 4 more teams in the playoff.

I think they meant the team would be bowling in the student union.

Wilson was lucky he coached when PU had some of the worst teams they have ever had. Four of his last 10 BT wins were against PU.

Sorry for the repeat post but.... We are only 8 months away from: -This off season the team has been working out better than any team in the history of football. -The defense is looking better than ever in practice (against our offense. LOL) -The offense is looking better than ever in practice (against our defense. LOL) -The team is really focused. -The media picked us to only win 4 or 5 games which is crazy. -We gave away a few games last year and there is no reason we should not win 8 -I see 8 and if things go well 9 wins (those are the annual posts that amuse me the most). ETC ETC Rinse and repeat.

We should start a drinking game. Have to do a shot every time Crean is mentioned on the board during a game.

I would guess that things are looking rather clear to Moore.

Holding them to 19 in in the second half, with 2:20 to go, sounds positive.

They are young, and it is early, but after the Marquette game I thought there was a good possibility that Fitzner would be a very reliable 6th man. Also thought Smith would be integrated into the offense to a much greater degree.

We should apologize and, if legal, take him to dinner at a place without a tv during the Duke game.

LOL about the “we are tired” comments. UC Davis lost to San Francisco by 34 and to Sacramento State and Texas-Arlington. They are not good.
