I want to be positive tonight. We’ve scored 7 points after 10 minutes. At least it’s not 5 points !!!!

Not sure if it is 100% accurate but I read an article that said Archie is the highest paid person in Bloomington followed by the coin made by the guy that sells boots to IU basketball.

Nice for Will. Porto is a really scenic town and close to some great beaches, Wonder what the pay is for this league? Average pay seems to wildly vary between different European leagues.

Five star Bracey Wright for me. Some of it is on Davis, and his “offense”, but seeing Wright dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble and then throw up a 30 footer drove me nuts as did his “I don’t care if we win or lose” demeanor.

The odd thing about Fitzner is that he was 4-4 from the three against Marquette and 3-3 against Duke (ie he was perfect against 2 of our toughest opponents and against guys that you would think are athletic enough to close out on him quickly). Since Duke he has gone 2-10 from the three in 8 games and has gone from having a smooth stroke to rushing his shot to the point where he is almost just chucking it up. I did not expect him to light the world on fire but that regression/inconsistency is a bit surprising for a 23 year old senior. It could be a difference maker in some upcoming games if he could get his stroke back.

Shooters aside I am still baffled as to why we start out so slowly (Archie acknowledged the obvious after today’s game) game after game. The defense does not start out tight, we tend to have too many early turnovers (kudos, however, for 7 to’s today), the offense is stagnant and we miss and/or take too many bad shots. We overcame bad starts vs weak competition but it will be an uphill battle on the road vs every BT team.

We need a pure shooter, pure and simple. Someone that could open up the offense for slashers like Romeo and Smith and also open up the front court for Morgan.

Good point. Hope he comes back and is able to do that next year.

I was thinking about that earlier today. Thrilled to get TJD. Will be very happy if we get KB but that being said we really, really need to also add a shooter. It would be hard to overstate how much better TJD, KB and Smith, and our entire offense, could be if we had a legit perimeter threat.

It’s the 8th game in a row we started slowly but you should not bring it up as many posters are disappointed to read such negative comments. Instead, please note how nice our uniforms look in HD and that Tim Garls tie makes his eyes shimmer.

Bill’s really rolling. He looks baked. Talked about a question he asked players and could not remember their answers. Went off on Falwell’s Liberty University. Called UCLA scheduling them “a stain on the university” and said look up their history. Wooden talk. UCLA talk 50% of his commentary pertains to events that happened in the 60’s, 70’s or 89’s. Talks about his past history Occassionally talks about the game. etc. etc.

He does look scared. There were times on offense that it looked to me he was trying to avoid getting open on the perimeter so he did not have to shoot. Has a decent stroke but needs to get his confidence back.

I can’t imagine an uglier 3-0 start to the Big Ten schedule but at least we are 3-0. It is still early in the conference but it is looking like the Marquette game, which increased my expectations for the season, was an outlier performance.

The refs are incredibly inconsistent. Muggings are missed (for both teams) and then ticky-tackys are called.
