    I wouldn’t be thrilled about Few, honestly. I’d rather have Beard. But I’m in no position as a suffering IU fan to turn my nose up at him either.

    There’s no point in leaking this “contemplating retirement” story. If you don’t want to say you’re firing him, given that he’s a former IU player, I get that. But if that’s the case then come out and say “Mike Woodson is retiring at the end of the season. He will coach the remainder of the year.” Instead we have this cluster of a mess in typical IU fashion.

    This is lame. Just rip off the bandaid and fire/retire him now. What’s the point of this? We all know he’s not actually retiring. Why the “will he or won’t he” storyline.

    I wouldn’t call myself pro Beard. I’m pro IU not sucking anymore and Beard would accomplish that. Other coaches can accomplish that goal. I just have no confidence in Dolson/IU landing said coach. It’s going to be brutal watching us hire yet another dud when Beard is thirsting for the job.

    Kelvin Sampson has done more in the last 6 years at Houston than IU has done in the past 25 years.

    Who said that I’m shocked? I was against the Mike Woodson trade from day 0. I fully expected to be right back here in four years. And here we are. I expect that we’ll be here again four years from now because IU will make another crappy hire. I’d be fine hiring either Bears or Wade, and I expect whoever we do hire to be worse than either of the two.

    Oh you mean when we started 12-2 and then lost 12 of the next 13 games with Romeo Langford on the team? The horror. That was enough to warrant firing him, but iu, as always, was late to the party. You don’t need 2-3 years to institute a system in 2025 college basketball. Not if you’re good.
