Lot of truth here, imo. Brad Stevens isn’t a grinder. I don’t think he loves being a coach. You don’t walk away in your mid-40s if you do. It’s just a job for him. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I don’t think it’s the personality we need. A guy like Chris Beard would crawl over glass from Mississippi to Bloomington to get the job. Brad Stevens has to be begged and pleaded with, and then he spurns us. If he really wanted the job he would’ve taken it the last time.

I saw Dakich on the warpath stumping for Alford on Twitter this afternoon so I had to say it. Don’t do it Scott!

Don’t worry, there will be plenty to complain about after Dolson hires Steve Alford.

He’s a yes man, imo. No part of me has confidence in him landing a top tier replacement.

The IU administration is so incompetent, including Dolson. Can’t even get a firing/retirement announcement right but we’re to believe they’ve got Stevens in the bag?

Woody showed his true character during his four years as head coach. Criticizing said demonstrated character isn’t “character assassination.”

So is he officially done at the end of the year? This has been such a strange evening.

I wouldn’t be thrilled about Few, honestly. I’d rather have Beard. But I’m in no position as a suffering IU fan to turn my nose up at him either.

There’s no point in leaking this “contemplating retirement” story. If you don’t want to say you’re firing him, given that he’s a former IU player, I get that. But if that’s the case then come out and say “Mike Woodson is retiring at the end of the season. He will coach the remainder of the year.” Instead we have this cluster of a mess in typical IU fashion.

The way IU is handling this doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in their ability to handle the coaching search…

This is lame. Just rip off the bandaid and fire/retire him now. What’s the point of this? We all know he’s not actually retiring. Why the “will he or won’t he” storyline.

Woody prolly thinks the crowd will beg him to stay on Saturday if he leaks this now.

I wouldn’t call myself pro Beard. I’m pro IU not sucking anymore and Beard would accomplish that. Other coaches can accomplish that goal. I just have no confidence in Dolson/IU landing said coach. It’s going to be brutal watching us hire yet another dud when Beard is thirsting for the job.
