I hate thinking about what could have been if Aaron Henry had committed to IU before Damezi Anderson. Jerome Hunter still has plenty of promise though, he needs a whole offseason to really get back into it. Damezi, I'm not so sure anymore. I hope he sticks it out and is a solid contributor for us down the road.

(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.

Awesome surprise for a random Tuesday night! I hope it works out for 2020, as he could provide good depth next season with Rob, Armaan, and Al assuming he's still here. The fact we could have a backcourt of a Sr. Rob Phinisee and So. Khristian Lander in 2021 is what REALLY excites me though. That would probably be the best in the conference. -

Western Kentucky for a 5 star. The NCAA should just set up a satellite office wherever the heck WKU is. -

There's another board that says he's almost guaranteed to IU. Not sure on a reclass still, seems to be against it for now. Personally I'd like it, even if he doesn't contribute much next season. His sophomore year he'd be that much better. -
I'm all aboard the Pearl train too. He'd kill it at Indiana, and the rest of the B1G would be terrified of an operate-in-the-gray coach like Pearl at IU. That's why they were afraid of Sampson. Good coach plus they knew he'd operate in the gray. A mod on another site has a few good Pearl stories though. Makes me think he'd never be a fit here. There's a 100% chance Auburn is paying players right now.

Notre Dame have a decent chance of making the tournament? They're 16-10 now, not sure they have any good wins though. Last I checked our win over them was on the verge of becoming a Quad 1 win, hopefully that's still the case.

IU basketball is no longer appointment television for me, and there's no way I can be the only one. I think the last game I watched was the Maryland game. Zero chance I would ever go out of my way to watch us in a road game. I already know the result: we lose by double digits and I get very angry in the process. Just a sad state of reality here. Holding out hope we still make the tournament, but can 18 wins get us in? Probably not.

So what people are saying is we'll be worse next year? I have us 1-5 over the next 6.

.."a development that could be a potential game-changer in the NCAA’s ongoing probe of corruption within the sport." LOL. Clearly nothing is going to be done. Will Wade is on tape discussing bribes and he's about to win a league title. I'm not sure why this is even still a story. No one will pay for this other than assistants who have already been fired.

Prediction League (Game 22 - @ Ohio State 2/1/20)

Conference tournament week is probably the most exciting time of the year. Tons of great games, and it feels like the whole week is Christmas Eve with Selection Show on Sunday and the tournament following a few days later. Can't wait.

Time to be selfish.

Why on earth would you look beyond wins and losses? That's what the game is all about. The defense didn't fail to show up. Sure it could have been better in spots but come on, Maryland just flat out couldn't miss to start the game. We had 6 turnovers, scored 70+ points, were down a big man in Race Thompson, and it still came down to the last shot. Let me remind you that even the most optimistic predictions for this year's team had us winning roughly 22 games. I think we should have no problem winning 5 more.

Really proud of the way we played today. Maryland just hit their shots. Frustrating to blow that lead late, but they are no doubt more talented than us. If TJD's last second shot went in, Archie has changed as a coach and team is "turning things around". But it goes out, and he still doesn't get it and the fans just accept losses. lol.

(2021) C Logan Duncomb to IU, to Winthrop
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just found out about this kid today, had no idea he's been on campus for a visit already. Based on the video, I like the type of player he is. Definitely a 4 year type of guy you need on your team. I like that he's 6'9'', Archie clearly trying to make sure we never have to battle through the B1G gauntlet with a 6'7" center again. I'd be excited to get his commitment, we need a building block type of player at the C position. Helps ensure guys like Furst and Kaufman they won't be stuck playing the 5. -

Aminu Mohammed making a visit today? OK, NOW I'll start paying attention to this recruitment. -
Brooks made such a bad decision, it cannot be overstated enough. 7 minutes in an OT game?!? Clearly a message is being sent there. No doubt he has to feel lied to in regards to Cal, but on the other side he was getting roughly 18 minutes per game up until a week or two ago. Started plenty of games too, so it's not like he hasn't had his chances. No way he sticks it out at UK though. He'll transfer somewhere, hopefully not in conference since I think he will be a good player eventually. He's just not cut out for the UK model/program. I can see him at MSU though.

LOL at the choice of Juwan Howard. 3 years max.
