    I'm holding out hope that sponsorship patches mean there's something in it for the fan, specifically less commercial breaks. But we all know there is no chance of that happening.

    I'd love to get him of course but the below from an ON3 article is why celebration will be a little muted for me. The bidding won't stop when he commits somewhere. The Sales camp adds that they remain engaged with each program regarding revenue share and NIL negotiations and a final decision has not been made.

    Monshun Sales isn't a take then? LSU has a lot of pull, regardless of who the coach is. Especially for kids from the South.

    This is such a losing battle for Texas Tech. Absolutely no one outside of Lubbock is on their side. There's no amount of money Cody Campbell can spend on PR that will put people in their camp. They'll probably have to go with the least bad option of paying him his NIL and revenue share, but just put him as QB3 on the depth chart.

    I was including everyone at Texas Tech and their lawyers in the "adults" group. But yes I know that would be unrealistic.

    The #1 rule in sports is that you can't bet on your own team. Sorsby broke that rule thousands and thousands of times. All the adults in the room should be united in efforts to permanently ban him from competition, but here we are.

    I can understand Alberto wanting to move on. That's a ton of pressure the year after a Mendoza led your team to a National Championship and won the Heisman. Tough act to follow right away.

    Gotta love Texas Tech's PR machine trying to get out ahead of this with the headlines of him entering rehab for gambling addiction AFTER he's gotten caught by the NCAA. He should never play in college again.

    Sounds like Sherrill is still on campus, and plans to stay until Tuesday morning. Plenty of time to lock him up. Maybe the wonderful Spring scenery in Bloomington can be enough to persuade him to spend another few years here.

    At the same time he just saw his hated in-state rival win a national championship 2 years after getting a new coach. Izzo knows his window is closing. He wants another title before he hangs it up. Pressure is on.

    Did Providence happen in to some money this year or something? They are shooting their shot with every big name transfer portal target it seems like.

    I'm not letting myself envision a future with Sherrill at all. That dude is going to be expensive, plus I only see him going to a proven winner. We need a successful season in the worst way.
