Welp I'd say it's about time to head over to Rupp Rafters.

Not all 5 stars are created equal. He doesn't have to sell everyone on his top 15 ranking. His numbers are video game-like though, and his measurables and athleticism are off the charts. Aminu would make us better, no doubt. We should all be ecstatic if he comes to IU. We really need recruiting momentum.

Correct, as well as the Oral Widemouth Center. Glad McRobbie tackled the important issues. -

"Being honest, I haven’t educated myself well enough on Adolph Rupp or just the whole situation at hand to really give you my thoughts on it, from what I do know, I would like to see a name change." Just a hunch, but those boys who marry their sister cousins might have a problem with someone who literally admits to being completely ignorant on a subject, yet catapulted himself to the forefront of knee-jerk reactions and fake do-goodism by declaring his support for the endlessly slippery slope of changing a building's name because "muh feelings". -
(2022) PG Bruce Thornton

Just don't understand how an Ohio State can pull that off but we can't. Pulling an out of state 5 star is no problem for them. DJ Carton leaves, no problem, just snag Bruce Thornton from SEC country. -

Hopefully Georgia, worried about Purdue with their momentum recently though. Has he even visited IU or PU? Can't remember who else is in his top 5. -
(2021) - PF Mason Miller to Creighton
AKHoosier replied to ap2345's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Woof. Spin this any way you want, but this month has been rough. Losing 2 of your top 3 recruits left to Purdue and Creighton is not good. It just looks bad. Aminu Mohamed would take the sting off a bunch, but we already have Galloway, Leal, and Geronimo there so it's not really a position of need. He would definitely be the best of the bunch though. Recruiting is a brutal game man. It almost NEVER works out the way you want or think it will. -

Recruiting never goes as well as you hope. Not long ago some were wondering if landing Kaufman took us out of the running for Mason Miller, and were convinced we could take both. Ugh. -
Smh, nothing but fear porn at this point. Students are much better off on campus amongst thousands of their young & healthy peers than at home in closer contact with people at higher risk in their own families. In my county, Notre Dame has dozens of new cases every day, but no hospitalizations so far. Even with the students here, the 7-day positivity rate is at 3.1%. Your logic implies we need a worldwide full lockdown until the virus kills itself off.

Is there any update on fan attendance at college basketball games? Hopefully a limited amount of fans will be allowed in to give something resembling an atmosphere.

"I haven't educated myself well enough on Adolph Rupp or just the whole situation at hand to really give you my thoughts on it. From what I do know, I would like to see a name change" Had to do a double take because this sounds like something Lebron James would say. Those 2 sentences sum up everything that is wrong with the outrage culture today. Just go with your feelings. Facts and context never matter, just jump to your own conclusions before the whole story comes out. Don't wait for evidence, your feelings are hurt so go crucify somebody for it. The more time goes by, I'm so glad we never got Brooks.

And apparently now there are questions as to whether or not a vote to cancel the fall football season was even held. I'd link Nicole Auerbach's twitter if I knew how, but evidently there are a few ADs/college presidents who don't know if a vote even took place. Adding that to the non-answers from Warren, and things are starting to look rather peculiar.
-
It's just bad optics all around. A week after the B1G releases their conference-only schedule for the fall, the season gets cancelled. Say what you want, but that is the result of poor leadership. I have little to no hope this season will be played in the spring. It will look even worse on the conference if the Big 12, ACC, and SEC play in the fall. It will be hard enough for schools like Ohio State to recruit the south after all this if the SEC plays and B1G doesn't, so I can't imagine how hard it will be for schools like IU.
-
Kevin Warren is an idiot. He's just kicking the can at this point. His incompetence is going to cause the conference he oversees to be even less relevant on a national scale as recruits spurn B1G schools in favor of those who will play. My biggest frustration amidst all of this is that I don't see how you can pretend to care about the physical health of athletes amidst a pandemic, but continue to rake in millions if not billions by turning a blind eye to CTE.

Viruses can also be studied in labs in Wuhan, jump to a human host, who then goes to a wet market and spreads it to other people. Then the Communist government knows about this, does nothing, and lies to the World Health Organization and leaders all around the world about its lethality and ability to jump from human to human. Then they could silence and disappear doctors who had the audacity to try and tell the world about the virus' severity. They can also completely cover up the official body count by reporting only 3,000 deaths when it's likely several times that. Screw all this sensitive "I don't want to offend someone" mindset. I want it burned into the collective global psyche that CHINA'S government is the reason we're in this place today. Communist China is why we didn't have March Madness. Communist China is why the NBA/NFL seasons are so messed up, and why we'll likely not have a full college football season. Communist China is why athletic departments all across the NCAA are reeling, some of which will spend the next decade trying to recover. No one is impugning the Chinese people or land. People know how to separate the Chinese citizens from their awful, authoritarian government, and the latter is to blame. And when the dust settles on all this, I hope we have a leader who will make them pay dearly.
-
None that I have heard, at least none that didn't have underlying medical issues. Still doesn't mean they can't get a really bad case though. From what I've read, the China virus appears to be weakening depending on which part of the globe you're on. Still can pack a punch though for sure. What's funny is when I hear people say it's just a bad cold or flu, well which is it? I had the flu 2 years ago and that thing knocked me out for about 2 weeks and I experienced heavy fatigue for at least a month, and I'm only 35 now.

That was my first thought as well. Sure he's young and strong, but I don't know if I'd call a 300 lb kid someone that's in "perfect health" and in "great physical condition". Using his height and weight listed online, his BMI is 37.1. Anything greater than 30.0 is considered obese. We all know how dangerous the virus is for overweight/obese people by now. Not trying to smear anyone here, really hoping he pulls through and there are no long-term issues. That must suck to go through as a parent.

College sports should just not even bother this year. Universities will go into CYA mode when a few players test positive for fear of getting sued or condemned by an angry mob. There's no way to make up for the lost revenue though, so they'll try any way they can to make it work. Maybe this will be a good time for universities to look at their budgets and decide if they really need a gender studies professor making $350,000/yr, or if an Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Intersectional University Relations needs to exist.
