I don't want to disrespect Coach Allen, but it was ridiculous to not have a search to fill a power five vacancy. To promote an assistant is embarrassing. Purdue did it right and we are going to suffer for it.
-
Purdue is just flat out beating OSU. I wasn't impressed by their defense against us and Purdue is exposing them. The BIG doesn't have a playoff worthy team.
-
Purdue is probably 2 or 3 touchdowns better than we are. Sad, really sad!
-
We are where our recruiting says we should be.
-
Yes they are.
-
Who thinks Purdue beats OSU tonight?
-
Tough to recruit when no one cares about IU football.
-
Remember when we were good in football.......me neither!
-
We are the lovable losers of the conference.

That can't please CAM. He wants to see it in practice.

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
cthomas replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I see two possibilities. He is still trying to work out where he wants to go and his recent visits have muddied the waters. Or, he is just trying to work out how, where, and when to make the announcement. For the sake of everyone here, I hope it's the latter. -

I have no reason to doubt what the conventional wisdom here is, and there seems no logical conclusion other than IU, but.......sometimes the thing you are most familiar with grows a bit stale and something new becomes appealing. Especially if you become annoyed that everyone thinks they know what you are going to do. -

We are who we are. We are having one of our better recruiting efforts this year and the experts still think 9 other teams in the conference are doing better. When you consistently recruit in the bottom third, that's where you stay. -
Morgan Ellison to miss rest of spring season
cthomas replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Waaaay back in the day, I spent fall, winter, and spring in locker rooms playing the seasonal sports. Guys talked, probably lied, about what they did with girls. At no time did anyone indicate that the girl didn't want to but they did it anyway. I believe if someone did, the rest of the guys would have probably kicked his a$$. Mistreatment of girls was not acceptable to us. I don't know what, if anything, has changed, but I don't understand the culture that seems to be prevalent in today's society. -

If a crime has been committed, and it seems in this case one was, is there not an obligation to go to the police? Failure to do so allows a predator to be free to do the same thing to others. I believe in due process and finding justice to the best of the systems ability. -
(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke

You make an excellent point. To me, Fitzner is the wild card for how good this year can be. If he can be an effective big with an inside game to compliment his 3 point shooting, that changes everything. We lacked serviceable size last year and suffered for it. That doesn't seem to be the case this year. What happens with Fitzner might be more relevant to Hurt's game than Romeo. Off the current topic, I heard Fischer rave about how impressed he was with Forrester when he saw him in drills. Called him a "beast" or something similar. Very exciting! -

Coaches have a lot of contact with recruits, often for several years. Good coaches should be able to sort out who will fit within the team concept and who won't. -

Agree with this completely. And that advice should apply to women as well. -

I'm with you on that. I know kids today want the fast track to the NBA, but I'm looking for team oriented kids who want to be a part of something special while in college. Unless I missed something, college basketball is still a team sport. -

It's October, basketball season is close, the recruiting dominoes are about to fall, and we've lost our collective minds! -

I've been following IU football since 1958, and outside of a very few years, it has been painful. I've watched Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, and others I can't recall go from horrible to conference title contenders, but outside of 1967, not us. It is embarrassing! Each year we talk about whether or not we can get to 6 wins. 6, really! It's embarrassing. We should not accept the results that we get year after year. I like Tom Allen, but how can you not have a real coaching search to fill a power 5 coaching vacancy. And how can we compete when we pay a ridiculously low amount for the position. If we are giving up on football, then fine, just admit that and move on. But I for one am tired of how we say one thing and then don't support it with the cash. Alcohol fueled rant, feel free to disregard! -

Is it that we can't or do we not have the will to do it. We hang our hat on basketball, but right now OSU is better in both sports. We need to decide who we are now, not 30 years ago, and who we want to be. If athletic excellence is our goal, then make that happen, whatever it takes. -

As always happens, the depth issue shows up at the end of games. I don't know what OSU spends on its football program, but if we don't match that, we will never compete with programs like them. -

We miss the pick and then they score. How different this game could be if we just made the plays that were there for us. I guess that's the difference between top 10 teams and us. -

The question now is do we beat the spread or do we fold.
