Every team seems capable of beating almost every other team. There should be plenty of upsets. We just need to get our share. The effort and maturity I've seen so far makes me think we will. A couple of years ago, we would have lost this game by 10+ points. The toughness of the young guys, first Galloway and now Leal, promise better days ahead. To me, this is starting to look like Indiana basketball should look. Fight for everything, never quit, and I'll be happy. -

Watched and loved everyone of those teams. Thought that'81 was the best of the bunch by the end of the year. Coach Knight would not make it through the first year the way he coached. Kids, and administrations, would not tolerate it. I'm not saying that we don't need some of that toughness now, it just would not be permitted. It's a different era and we need to quit using Coach Knight as the reference point. -

My point is, we have been waiting for CAM's teams to show some fig ht. Now we're seeing it. Terrific effort at Wisconsin, which should have been a win, and another gutsy game tonight that did result in a win. Is this not what we have been asking for? I have been watching for a long time and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. From every coach since McCracken. I enjoyed the hell out of what these young men did tonight. -

And Coach Knight, as much as I liked him at the time, was probably a sociopath. Point was, when Knight's teams did it, he was a great coach. Miller's do it, finally, and we should fire him. Once again, please! -

We played a well rested Nebraska team, after a disappointing double overtime loss without our second leading scorer again, and found a way to win after blowing a big lead. Multiple guys stepped up and made game winning plays. If you're not happy with that, I've got nothing for you. -

Please! Coach Knight had plenty of games just like this. Under performed, but found a way to win. The narrative is tiresome. -

Has nothing to do with Miller. The other team plays to win too. -

Can we quit complaining about the offense? Ball movement is pretty good leading to good shots. Whether we hit them or not is on the players. -

Gotta give Nebraska credit, they're going to drive hard and kick all game long. -

I think Lander has a great future, but he is not ready for this yet. He doesn't know what a good shot is at this point. I don't like how we are playing right now. Those threes are fool's gold. -

I really don't understand the "must" win term being thrown around. It's a basketball game and I'm willing to bet that our players believe they will win every time they take the court. As fans, we sit here and decide who they can and cannot beat. Why not just watch the game and and let the wins and losses determine the future. I can't imagine taking the floor and thinking that my team was going to lose. I give this team more credit than that. -
If the protocols are the same as football, I have my doubts.

It looks like Leal is figuring out the college game. His D looked much better tonight. He looks like he belongs on the floor now. If he builds on this game, our depth gets better. And, let's not forget we played a really tough game without Franklin. -

This is why the freshmen don't need more minutes. They are just not ready. And Lander really should be playing in high school right now. -

Such a cynic. College basketball is what amateur athletics is all about. -

Revisionist history. Those teams also played no defense, were a turnover machine and were going nowhere at the end of Coach Crean's tenure. I would like something better now, but that is not in our recent past. -

Someone once told me that if you don't think too good, don't think too much. I'm in that boat with you brother! Nothing left to do but drink a little more whiskey. -

.......partly truth and partly fiction. Nice Kris Kristofferson reference....I think. -
OK. Gimmick was probably the wrong word there. The point was it is something that leads to guys playing above their rating. But for me, the bottom line is more often than not where you end up will be determined by your talent level. I'm not being negative here, I love this team and think it is very similar to the '67 Rose Bowl team in terms of achievement. But we couldn't follow up on that success. Getting better players is how we will climb the ladder. We can't expect that we will beat the Michigan's and Penn State's year in and year out without recruiting at their level. To think otherwise is to live in a fantasy land. I've been watching since the late '50s and it's just the way it is. Please don't think I'm discounting what you said because we have over achieved this year in my opinion. I love what Coach Allen is building and I hope we give him time to finish the job.

Happens all the time. I think OSU overlooked us to an extent and Fields was trying to make a case for the Heismen and tried make plays that weren't there. We are good enough now that it is foolish to think we are an easy win. But we are not good enough to expect that we will win every time out. I'm guessing that opposing fan bases look at the schedule and put the game against us in the win column. We can only change that by stacking good seasons on top of each other.

The big picture is this, you can't skip steps on the way up. We just have to take the next one. We can talk about player development all we want, but sometimes you still have to start with better players. It will start with signing better guys. IF this season translates into that, then we are on our way. Regardless of their record, I'm guessing that their last four recruiting classes were better than ours. Eventually, we have to go into games with the better rated players. LEO to me is a gimmick designed to get players to play above their talent level. I'm not saying that the sentiment is not real or that Allen does not truly care about his guys, but total buy in is the only way he can compete against superior talent. I like what coach Allen is doing and I hope it buys him enough time to get the talent he needs.
