  1. Disagree about Tuttle. I think it's too early to call him mediocre. He showed toughness today and, with more game time, I think he is capable of getting the job done. He took over a playbook that was designed around Penix. If he is the starter going into next year, the playbook will be designed to suit his skills. I just don't think we can judge Tuttle on what happened at the end of this year.
  2. I understand it's the heat of the moment, but this seems like a massive overreaction given the season we have had. Love the passion, I think this is the wrong conclusion.
  3. Contrary to popular opinion, I think Tuttle was fine. He needed the Purdue game to get really comfortable. He was not the reason for this loss. The COVID shutdown cost the team preparation time and CONDITIONING time. I'm proud of the fight, but Ole Miss was the better team today. Work harder and come back better next year.
  4. No signs of life. Incredibly disappointing right now. Certainly didn't expect this kind of effort. They look exhausted.
  5. A loss here would be a major momentum killer for the program.
  6. I guess there comes a time in every young man's life when he grows tired of college girls.
  7. I'll go with Galloway also. I have been astounded by the rate at which he has grown from the beginning of the year to now. He just does things with a purpose. If some of our more highly rated guys played with the same intensity we would really have something.
  8. PSU is a tough out. They just keep coming. They will beat some teams this year. I just hope it's not us.
  9. Franklin had a rough first half. I expect him to bounce back. PSU is a dangerous team because they can hit shots. Galloway is way ahead of where I thought he would be at this point. IF these guys ever get on the same page, we might be pretty good.
  10. Maybe things have changed, because it has been a really long time, but when I played game time was earned in practice. I wasn't in the same universe as our players, but I have to think the same principle applies. Guys who work in practice get rewarded. If you do it some other way, you're asking for problems.
  11. From his radio show, you can tell CAM really likes his freshmen and wants to work them into playing time. Given the older players he also has, he walks a fine line here. Chemistry is hard to attain and easy to lose. That's why giving minutes to the younger guys has to be performance based. I trust that CAM will make the right moves.
  12. I'm all for giving them minutes if they've earned them in practice. I like all of them, especially Galloway, and am looking forward to seeing them take on a bigger role......when they are ready. See the Franklin trajectory.
  13. I don't disagree, but I think you see what I'm saying. We can blame Davis/Sampson/Crean/Miller all we want, but the real problem is much higher up.
  14. No I don't. But we are four coaches in since Knight. I think that is a pattern. We are obviously not looking for the next legendary coach. We are looking for someone who will manage the program, win some games, and not do anything to embarrass the university. Until that mindset changes, the results on the court won't change. No one who matters cares about what I think, but that is my assessment of where we are.
  15. Agree about his coaching, but IU was never going to embrace his approach or the guys he was bringing in.
  16. My larger point is that the problem goes beyond the coach and to the people in charge of hiring the coach. Until that is different, you get the same result over and over. I have no confidence that the powers that be want anything different than what we have. Otherwise, they would have hired a basketball guy as the new AD.
  17. What is our track record since Knight? What makes you think it will change?
  18. I would add Davis and Sampson to that.
  19. The reputation of Indiana basketball was made with Branch McCracken and Bob Knight. Since then, not so much. Given the nature of the game right now, I don't see a logical reason to change coaches again unless you have a consensus great option. And, if you had such a coach, why would you think he would come here. We are a destination job in our own mind. Good job for sure, but great, I'm starting to wonder. One other point, Al Durham deserves better than he gets here. He seems like a great kid and I'm sure he is giving us all he has. Win or lose, that's all I ask.
  20. Don't think he is ready yet. He will get there, but throw him in now and things only get worse.
  21. Northwestern plays as hard as anyone I've seen. Lesson learned.
  22. They carry a much bigger football reputation into this game than we do. I would think that football fans generally consider Ole Miss a better program in a better conference than us regardless of the records. My opinion is that we have MORE to gain than we have to lose. This season is for all practical purposes over. The most important thing for our program is what we do next season. Can we back this great year up with another one. Do that and respect will start to come. As far as the bowl game is concerned, I can't wait to see this team on the field one more time.
  23. Isn't that true no matter what you do. Until you have a record of success, you never get the benefit of the doubt. Probably you shouldn't. But even great coaches have bad losses. Coach Miller will either get there or he won't. It's just interesting to see how people react.
