1. I'm convinced our 3 guard lineup at any point in the game is just junk. We lose on defense, rebounds, and only focus on the three ball. We have succes going thru Bryant. He has great vision and should get a touch in every offensive set. Who cannot see this lol?
2. Ted Valentine still sucks after all of these years. I always thought it was just Bobby but now I'm convinced it's the candy stripes.
3. Troy is Bracey Wright selfish. If he would rebound and let the offensive side just come to him, he would be so much more effective. I hate the ball in his hands; does he have 3 TO's already?
4. Hate to say it but we are infinitely a better defensive team without Blackmon. We look so much better today.
5. Bryant is a stud and should be option 1,2 and 3. Probably our best passer also.
6. He doesn't see things admitted by him. How many post game pressers does he say he needs to look at the tape to know or understand what just happened in the game . I always thought his incessant pacing, clapping, and other habits kept him from absorbing the game. But I'm not gonna blame it on this or say he's dumb. In games he just doesn't see or know what to do which keeps him from making the next step as a coach.
7. I have given him credit more times than he has coached us to a win. Not very many I admit, but compared to his timely use of his 500 page playbook; it's probably not even close.
8. 12-6 and I'm reaching a little bit? I have actually given Crean praise when his team executes a well thought out game plan. The problem is they are far and few between and when his game plan falters he can't coach his way into a win. The book is out; you and everyone else knows it.
9. I doubt his career records at IU will have any asterisks next to them blaming Kelvin Sampson for Crean's lack of coaching; although Crean would want them. He couldn't win then and he can't now. 9-9 last year and 7-11 the year before was his record post Cody and Vic. What's is there to ignore? It's all on paper.
10. Crean's teams have no concept of valuing the ball nor any defense at all. I watched Hoosiers again last night, and I swear Gene Hackman could out coach Crean. Watching Hickory play defense made me feel better knowing Indiana basketball was once known for this. The one area of basketball that wins championships is the reason Crean wins very little at all. His 8 year B1G record now sits at a paltry 50-77(.394). That's a 7 win average and at this rate, even a Glass half filled lifetime contract wouldn't get him back to .500.
11. This view of the buyout from a lawyer's perspective leads me to think even more that Glass has failed at men's basketball just as much as Crean. All of the arrests gave Glass cause to fire Crean or at worst negotiate a lot lower buyout. Plus, renegotiating a longer and higher buyout contract after only a sweet 16 appearance shows his fandom of Crean beyond really evaluating his performance. Last year Glass discussed X's and O's specifically about Crean which is a big no no for administration. This also showed how little he truly knew about the game. Glass' feelings about Crean go way beyond the hardwood. Both need to go.
12. Now, you have upset most grade school coaches. They could use tape of this game to show whatyou do not do on defense. Really, this is basic stuff taught at the grade school level in Indiana.
13. Merry Christmas everyone although my present won't come until after this season is over. Sterling's comments are spot on and very tragic considering this is our Indiana he's dissecting. The whole grand history of our program revolves around getting the best from our own state, great defense, and great coaching. Sadly, we have none of that. Watching the Crossroads classic and Indiana fans cheering more for Butler than IU should say it all. Butler is the new IU, and until Crean is gone, nothing will change.
14. He could just walk away like Spurrier here in SC, but we couldn't be so lucky.
15. I am a graduate of Indiana University who witnessed a National Championship season while a student. While that makes me old it also makes me in the minority here. Yes I'm very proud to be a graduate and Hoosier by birth. One question for you. If you would have ever witnessed a national championship or would consider Indiana a blueblood program having won 5 of them, would you settle for what we have now? Afterall, we are on an Indiana basketball forum and not the Kelly School of Business.
16. Your opinion just like mine. Athletics are the front door which has been discussed here and Indiana's flagship athletic program is the door mat. Mr Prez signs off on the contracts and is responsible for Glass. Tell me what our alumni says? They're the ones who donate and basketball is a big part of this even if one doesn't want to admit it.
17. You already have this. 8 years in only Glass doesn't see the failure, and this is why he needs to go with Crean. I would also send McRobbie packing. A lot better AD's and university presidents have gone after not sitting on a coach who couldn't coach.
18. Better be very careful here as well. I posted in this thread re Coach and I was told I was bashing members. I asked was Tom Crean a member? I know he's not otherwise he would be a much better in game coach.
19. Friends and family less than an hour away in Indy is a lot to offer. He certainly wouldn't be following a legend either. Just get rid of Glass and probably McRobbie first so he knows the admin on up will totally support him. Rest is hang banners.
20. Unless it's a post game presser where he shows his true class and can never comment about the game he just coached. His "I will have to look at the game tape" for any question regarding game strategy, etc... shows he doesn't coach but spectates. He's a clappy cheerleader who is great at grandstanding, relentlessly pacing, pulling out notecards, or chugging his Diet Cokes. Other than those he is also mostly known for his blow by handshakes or going off on our competition's assistant coaches. No one has ever said they were out coached by a Tom Crean team. Even with superior talent year after year, he still can't regularly win. I want his cheer buddy Glass gone too. I'm happy he was also on this trip to fully take in what his contract has gotten us.
21.

That was the worst drawn up play equal to the Colts punt debacle. I tell you folks.... The tenor of the game was set when JBJ got the ball stolen from behind in the first half. NO other team allows that to happen. It's 2014/2015 all over again. I wouldn't chant Crean sucks at his son/daughter's high school game. But, I sure as hell will say it here.... CREAN SUCKS! Stop the BS at IU and Go get BS.... Brad Stevens!![/ That's the dream...... And why I delusionally my keep my avatar as BS. BUT...... It's not happening anytime soon. He is in the middle of building a legitimate contender for the Boston Celtics and he looks like he's having a lot of fun.
And I will keep my avatar until this loser of a coach is gone. As I have said many times before, Crean would be outcoached by most middle school coaches in Indiana. He has no concept of game strategy, half time adjustments, or the use of a time out. That's before you get into his 500 page playbook all the while still running the Harlem Globetrotters offensive weave in year 8. Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon just face palm.
22. You couldn't make this up. 2 timeouts and this is what you get. Certainly someone in the huddle can draw up something better than that. 95% of Indiana high school coaches come up with a better play. 100% play better defense.
23. I'm with you on the NCAA. The power 5 conferences should form their own governing body and see how long it would take to crumble it all down. Their personal vendetta started with our own past president whose first goal was firing Knight then bringing down Indiana basketball. Plus their proximity makes us an easy target. What Myles Brand started along with the worthless AD at the time has had us reeling for 2 decades. We can't blame them now though. We still have sorry leaders making these decisions.
24. Coaches need to be held accountable for their actions as well as their players and assistant coaches. We wouldn't have to look far to start with this.
25. This is the best he can do on a 750k recruiting budget? If he had Painters budget he would be landing Taylor University's transfers instead of Pitts. Money well spent as usual.
