The sleaze in Tobacco Road doesn't stop or start with UNC, but it sure puts an exclamation point. The shadiness of NC States championship teams along with Coach K's denial of jobs for parents and his players getting jewelry and other benefits and being caught shows the high and mighty Atlantic Coast Crap stinks a long way. UNC should have 3 of their champ banners taken down for decades long cheating started under their God Dean Smith. The Fab Five cheated less yet paid a heavy price along with Michigan. My money says the Communists in Indy will do as they always have and hammer SMU now like UNLV then and the Carolina Way will continue. Just another reason to dismantle the NCAA, which the power 5 are on their way. Hail Myles Brand! Damn Sampson made all the impermissible calls that are so important compared to academic fraud, Fedex envelopes full of cash, or raping or beating up women on campus. Got to get your priorities in order.

Marshall is way better than a minor upgrade over Crean and a homerun hire compared. Just take a look at his record of winning then compare it to Creans record of not winning. I can't think of many coaches who wouldn't be upgrades; for starters look at any other coach in the Big. Any would be an upgrade.

Did you see the photos of our last home game. Ghost town is an understatement. Like I have said, looks Luke Glass will ride the Crean pony right out of town. Just sad he's an Indiana grad, as McRobbie & a lot of the former higher ups weren't and really didn't care about Indiana basketball. Glass cares more about his ego and "the contract".

That's true. Instead of rides to dorm rooms they got rides to the police station. One was booked for DUI, others for illegal consumption, and one was questioned for another DUI. From my understanding Remy was never arrested nor failed any drug tests. He was Creaned in every sense of the word to make room for Crean's always oversigned recruiting class. To deny this is what happened one must also deny the word Creaned, which is funny since our fan base didn't invent the term. I am happy for Remy and his success. He never would have gotten the same recognition if he would have continued to play for our perrenial underperforming coach. His success leaving leaves the blue print for others to leave and have similar success. Just like what we all want for indiana.

How many would you take over our current? List not so funny now lol.
-
Could you imagine the block outs? Nobody gets close to the paint.
-
Thanks Hova! If somethng happens it will be in the next 24 if we want our top 2 hires.
-
Well, maybe he's had his last team supper. Anyone watching the airports and/or arrivals and departures?
-
Crickets...Glass may want to still be Indiana's AD afterall. Or he may be strategizing with Coach about what sets to run when Collins in the game lol. It's Fisher's fault!

Bama has some talent and Grant did really well at VCU. I think they should have given him more time at a historically underperforming bball school. It seems the AD and Grant came to an agreeable misuderstanding. He will land on his feet, and this version of Bama looks pretty good. It sure seems like they have someone else in mind.

Probably "Have you seen how nice the weather in Tuscaloosa is?"

Thanks for sharing. For those of us that think we have become irrelevant, read up. Just think what we would be ranked if we consistently won? My guess would be #1 based on our great alumni and fan following.

Great game by two great coaches. This just goes to show how important coaching is even when you still need great players. The players can only do so much...just another reason why Knight was in a short list of coaches who knew how to coach the big games.

No doubt his teams always play their best ball in March. With Dawson healthy they will be a tough out.

Wisconsin seems to be in choke mode today. I hope it bleeds over to the tournament; I just cannot stand Bo.

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
schoosier replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I sure don remember any NCAA penalties from failed drug tests, and to be completely honest; we have had more from our current oaching staff. Bassett and the kid who transferred to Xavier and went pro were the only two I could remember. Did the NCAA punish us for low apr or take away schollies? I sure can't recall losing any schollies or post season play. I'm just considering NCAA issues as it related to Sampson. -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

His Kansas Natinal Championship in 1988 should have been vacated but the NCAA doesn't have the balls to ever do that. They only made Kansas ineligible to defend their title the next year. Funny how that works. Just look at UNC basketball for example. Cheaters win and nothing happens. Meanwhile Indiana gets their program decimated by illegal phone calls that aren't even a violation now. F the NCAA; wish they would get out of Indianapolis. It tarnishes a great city. -
Its getting a little cooler now after this victory, but yes following Williams not an easy gig. He has a talented team and shoukd compete for the Big championship. I bet he wishes he was still in tobacco road to give some payback.

The tech was before the end of regulation, but I agree it could have cost him the w. But think of the message it sends to his players, and by the second ot it wasn't close. Turgeon impressed me going up there and getting the win esp with Izzo all over the officials most of the game. MSU isn't very talented this year but great coaching gives them a chance every night out. Indiana use to be the same way.

Crean waited until our 10 point lead dwindled to three after a missed 3 would have tied it. He was a day late and dollar short. Maybe when it got to six it may have mattered but without Yogis 2 threes at the end of reg, it really wasn't close.

Just heard Harbaugh gave the halftime speech for Mich. They turn it around and beat illi. And some of you thought it was funny when I said to bring him here to coach basketball.
-
You still have to run a play coming out of them or in our perspective, inbounds the ball first.
-
Yes leaving the one player in cost him two big turnovers plus losing Harris and their big man really hurts them. Maryland with one loss looks to win easilly, but Izzo has Mich St in a position to win. Now watching UF and Donovan vs a good FSU team. Basketball is great when you have awesome teams being complimented by worthy coaching. Interested in seeing Donovan's halftime adjustments. We can only hope. How about Dayton vs Virginia at #3? Archie Miller is a star in the making. If you want to go the up and comer route, he would be in my top 3 next to Marshall and Hoiberg. Lots of great coaches out there that would love to rep the candy stripes.

Double OT Maryland vs Mich St. Two telling statements. 1. Dickie V and other announcer stating how both coaches really working the officials. Coaches doing their best to win. 2. Turgeon getting T'd up with 50 secoinds left in regulation. His team was getting hosed and he let the officials know it, which has helped him get late calls. Its a thing of beauty watching two great coaches go at it knowing how important this really is. Just an awesome game! Maryland going to win afterall; big W.
