It's not a question of whether they see the same thing. It's a question of their stubbornness to not make changes. It took a bit of time to make the Alexis switch -- I'm not sure if that is good or bad. Good that they saw it and eventually made the switch. Or bad that it took them as long as it did.

I don’t think anyone is saying not to evaluate mid major players. But don’t go after just average or above average mid major players and expect a “step up.” If you’re looking at a mid major guy, he has to be dominant at that level. Otherwise it’s a big risk.

Interesting chart. I’d like to see the last couple of years. But the small sample size shows 11 of the 16 had homegrown starters. That’s a pretty big advantage— almost 70%.

Don't know if I am a fan of a look-alike Chris Katan garden gnome as a coach, but is sure puts to bed "it takes ____ years to get to the tournament and sweet 16." One shining moment -- good for them. Actually yes. It's called preparation. I want to know everything there is to know about my competitors. What they like, dislike, what they recruit, philosophy. What they like to eat, when they take a crap. Wives, girlfriends, mistresses, etc. : / I am neutral on DeVries. I am not looking for any validation. Just looking objectively and waiting for him to "show me." Gave him a red flag for not knowing, and kudos for admiting it needs to change.

Square this circle for me. How can you have such a ranked class without any impact makers? If that really happens, we're dead. Gotta build. There likely isn't enough money and/or portal "stars" to get there.

It was an adjustment, and one he made going in as he built a roster to compete and did so. Did he have to further adjust during the season -- sure. And Dusty's comments simply reinforce CDDv's "cluelessness." Heck, if the last new Big10 coach is on tape saying it, how the farque do you miss it? It's not like it's some secret.
