    The NCAA and conferences need help from Congress. They need relief from the antitrust laws. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Congress though.

    Coaches can't just "transfer" willy-nilly. There are buyouts to deal with. NIL Collectives should do the same with players -- you want to transfer after a year, you can buy out your contract.

    Let’s see what Kansas/Michigan/Etc. do this year. They don’t have unlimited money. At some point this will all break and maybe we’ll go back to college basketball.

    I hear you. But if we can’t “be” Iowa, we have zero chance being Michigan. We wasted a freaking year “figuring it out.”

    You guys arguing about Iowa is laughable. Results matter. They went Elite 8. We went on spring break. They had a better season than we have had in 33 years.

    It is all about what the Ryan Carr "draft" board looks like. They'll have their top 3-5 players at each spot. Hopefully, you at least get at 1 and/or 2 at a couple of spots and maybe a 3-5 at the rest. So if they got their 1 or 2 top choices at the guards and a 3 at center, they would be starting off pretty good.

    This is it. Buying a roster rarely works, and doesn't work long term. You have to identify and develop. Hopefully that is what Ryan Carr is there for -- do the grunt work to identify the talent. Then CDD and staff can try fitting the pieces together and developing them from there.

    I don’t think they are unimportant, but just one piece of the puzzle. And it’s how you use them that’s more important. We certainly don’t need to spend all the money on two. You need competent bigs. They don’t have to be the center point of your team.

    You can't really compare pre Portal and NIL with today. Back then it did take years to get your recruiting classes thru the system. And you usually started with a weak team, which is why the last guy was gone. But I'll raise you a Todd Golden and Dusty May -- guys who have done in today's era.

    I suppose but only 16 teams are left playing (ok maybe a few others in the NIT/Crown are left). Might be some slim pickins in the portal this year. Hopefully things pick up.

    This week is basically over. I have to think (hope) coaches meetings where held over spring break and player meetings Monday/Tuesday. The fact that we don't have any significant announcements yet is probably a good sign, at least for some continuity.
