  1. Well there it is. I have a saying -- You can't fool the kids. At every level, they know who should start, who should play, and who works hard. If what you say about Justin's conduct is true (and I have no reason not to believe it), then Justin should have been relegated to the bench behind the last walk on. You send the message, even if it is your best player (and Justin was not) you're not going to take any BS. If you put up with it, this is what you get. It ain't pretty.
  2. Exactly, This is all on Archie. He just failed to seize the moment. Failed to adapt to the Big10 game. He thought he could do the same stuff he did at Dayton and succeed. Any future mid-major coach that comes in has to be able to answer the question -- "how are you going to adapt your success to the Big10." If he can't answer, move on to the next guy.
  3. Should have been the end of his night. He wasn't playing all the well anyway.
  4. These teams suck. I’ve seen kiddie games that where better.
  5. It's never easy to follow a legend. Especially one as polarizing as Coach Knight.
  6. Baloney. He's in charge. He should act like it. The fire then hire decisions are linked. If he needs to call in some boosters to fund the buyout, then do it. But he shouldn't be held hostage by them and required to pick "their guy." If they then don't want to donate, move on down the list. You get too many opinions and you'll continue down the same BS path we have been on.
  7. I would much rather have him do his job and make the decision himself. Sure bounce ideas off people. But honestly, wtf do the boosters and trustees know about Basketball. May as well just use the peanut gallery here at BTB.
  8. My comment was in response to the sorry old excuse that "the Administration" won't let Basketball succeed. Nobody has ever pointed to a concrete example. On the contrary, Football and other sports show that is not true.
  9. Then introduce them to Tom Allen and the football program. "The Administration" is a sorry old excuse. If IU football can find success, as well as other sports, it's time for IU basketball to look in the mirror and take accountability.
  10. Unless they are thugs. I doubt Belien will recruit thugs.
  11. Players want to play for a winner and a winning program.
  12. I’ve been a Bears fan so I have experience. I’ll be back no matter what. Go IU.
  13. Yeah play a game as long as possible. The real world can wait.
  14. He'd certainly give us instant credibility without waiting for a "rebuild." I think it's a good transition hire while we wait for Stevens, et. al. or someone else to develop.
  15. Why not? Anything to avoid the "real world."
  16. Yeah, I especailly like the 5 guys stand around and watch set. :)
  17. Then he's just a nerd. The whole point of coaching is to lead the team in the proper direction. And I'm not convinced he's really a student of the game. Otherwise, we would see adaptations based on personnel.
  18. If he's a basketball coach then I am the Emperor of Rome. What do they see that makes him a basketball coach?
  19. Exactly. This is all on Archie. He failed to adapt and change to IU and the Big10. Unfortunately probably too late now.
  20. Sure and he took on the dumpster fire that was IU and gave us a few glimpses of success in a few short years. If he could have only sustained it, he'd still be here.
  21. Saturday's announcers where kind of pushing Beilein to coach somewhere. Maybe it can happen here?
  22. Yeah Crean was a better coach than Archie. Archie was supposed to be our Phil Jackson to Crean's Doug Collilns. And build from what Crean established. Instead, we have gone backwards.
  23. Chance we are below .500 on the entire season.
  24. These guys are high. Archie is not a good basketball coach -- too stubborn. Won't adapt. Won't change. Fails to put players in position to succeed. Exactly the opposite of good coaches.
