  1. He really needs to adapt and combine the two -- a little motion while allowing those with the talent to do their thing. Kinda like the Calbert Cheaney days.
  2. Woody is a transition coach. Plug the holes. Stop the bleeding. The A+ coaches weren't beating down the doors -- too many other programs these days to go to. If he can get us on a sound foundation, the next guy will be setup to succeed. It all starts with recruiting -- need to have good players come in, stay and develop. Fill in the gaps with the portal. Jury is still out on that.
  3. Fk the flu. M Jordan put up 38 pts with the flu.
  4. What was his performance? Not great. I am all in with Coach Cig's criteria -- What have you done for me lately. I am sick of "potential." I want a$$ kickers. In Cig we trust.
  5. To play football at a high level you have to be able to adapt and overcome. Football is mean, brutal, and debilitating. People who used to be your friends literally want to kill you and end your career. You need to be mentally strong. We need Neanderthals who hate to lose.
  6. At lunch of course? :)
  7. Here's a look into the personnel evaluations of Coach C:
  8. Coach C has the characteristics of the great coaches. First and foremost, he adapts his offense/defense schemes to the players he has. Doesn't try to fit square pegs into round holes. For a school like IU that is key, because your talent is going to vary based on who you can land. You're not going to have your pick of the top players, yet. Second, he seems tough without being obnoxious. I don't want my football team to LEO. I want them to kick a$$ and take names. You can be tough but fair -- leading to accountability, leading to discipline on the field. No stupid penalties, etc. Finally he believe is multiplication -- a unit of 11 guys, executing to perfection, ends up being more than the sum of it's parts.
  9. So what you're telling me is, Coach C doesn't plan to punt. :)
  10. Part of changing the culture is not having players who have become accustomed to loosing. They may be good players, but loosing becomes a way of life. Clean house and start fresh.
  11. I'll have to go find my old posts, but I did say never fear this 4 game gauntlet when everyone was jumping out of windows. :)
  12. MM has to take open look from the top without hesitation.
  13. First response— oh my god, give it a rest. This tread was basically dead as we all have moved on to Michigan and/or Coach C.
  14. You mean the "chuck and duck." :)
  15. I don’t see anybody not believing the stats. What I see are people, like myself, putting stats in proper context.
  16. Look, you can either use critical thinking to truly evaluate stats, or you can just blah, blah, blah on. Going down the court, putting up a quick off balance shot, that has zero chance of going in and is rebounded by the opponent is the equivalent of a turnover. That is something CJ is guilty of and needs to be considered if you’re going to make an objective evaluation. Stats aren’t perfect.
  17. No that’s Jared Hulls from Kokomo. Give him that last scholarship.
