Morgan Ellison to miss rest of spring season
lucel15 replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Yes, It’s more of hearsay but I trust my sources and people i know and that I’m connected with the football team and around the situation. -
Classic calling out the defense before we’ve even seen them play! Nice I like it lol. FWIW At half he had 302 all purpose yards (125 return yards).....he ended the game with 313. I’m not taking away what he did in that first half, because that was honestly pretty awesome to watch he has a bright future, but it’s called schemes and NW played chess with brohm and took Moore out of the equation that second half. They shadowed him and mixed up drops right before the ball was snapped....yes it was the first game....but to say he alone will murder our defense.....okay buddy have a great Friday and go Hoosiers!!

IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program
lucel15 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Suds was a pretty decent QB who was a stud. And that wasn’t that long ago. Again I’m not saying he woke up yesterday and was like eh I want more arm strength. It’s something you can work on just like pitchers can work on speed. There’s things you can do and drill you can do to increase those things. I get why people were excited to have dawkins, becuase I was excited too. But I didn’t name him the starter ASAP like most did. The kid extended plays and made people miss running. He didn’t have great arm strength or accuracy the times he threw the ball. So did we just want a flashy QB?....I think that’s what I’m seeing. -
IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program
lucel15 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
It’s been said many times. He was brought in to compete for the job, he fit someone who could extend plays. But also he was also experienced even though Ramsey played he’s still young and then you’re left with 2 scholly QBs on the roster. We have kevin Wilson to blame with our depth at QB. -
IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program
lucel15 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Yeah and they were the two QBs we had to play with. One a A senior with a josh Allen arm strength and no touch. The other playing his first season of college football as a backup and starter lol. Of course there were mis reads with Ramsey. Still don’t get why kids can’t get better one season to the next? I’ll trust the coaches as this is their job. And I forgot some IU fans are still caught up in last season. Hey y’all wake up it’s a new season. Players can develop still. They don’t stop developing once they leave hs. It’s the 18-19 season. Go Hoosiers. -
IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program
lucel15 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
With Dawkins coming from Rich Rods system....he couldn’t read progressions. Dawkins even said that this system was completely new and that in his old system he was told where to throw the ball and who to look for. He didn’t have progressions down to go with his arm -

Let’s just say he wasn’t very accurate -
IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program

He was 3rd in depth chart. From a family member close to the program. Ramsey and Penix really split all the work with 1st team. Dawkins got most of his reps with 2nd and 3rd. -
PM as well I’ve heard about Ellison. What about Dawkins.

I guess I’m just confused as to wonder why we wish Ramsey were a better passer. He can run but he’s no Lamar Jackson. However I’ve seen people say we need someone like dawkins to lead us to beat the big dogs. To preface this I was excited to add Dawkins...he does bring a lot of athleticism. However what did he prove at AZ that would make us think he has what it takes to beat UM or OSU? Just curious. Here’s some stats from his AZ days
-
Not true. We would have had 2 QBs on scholly. We needed depth and competition. Coaches went out and got that. In interviews nothing was promised or given to Dawkins. They wanted a QB battle. We got a QB battle Ramsey won. Don’t see what’s so hard to understand. He out performed the other challengers for now. Also why is it so hard to grasp that maybe a college kid growing into his body putting on good weight and strength and challenging himself and growing abilities beats out a grad transfer and a promising frosh?

Also this stems from an injury possibly. Then he lost interest. Then gained interest. We shall see how the saga plays out.

Leshaun Minor is back on the roster. Story was his heart was not there and he was not giving it his all. Had a heart to heart with Coach....now he’s back....Grayson stover was given a medical waiver he will no longer play but will finish school at IU. So let the minor saga continue......he was not on the roster at beginning of camp so that’s why I wanted to relay info

Prediction League (Game 1 - FIU 9/1/18)
lucel15 replied to Str8Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
45-17 IU -
Wilson scared off a lot of talented QBs. He wasn’t a great recruiter. The assistants were the winners that he hired. I’ve heard many stories about how he would run top recruits we could have landed off. One that comes to mind is the older Lytle his little brother actually just committed to Wisky as a OLB. At some point you have to come down to earth and become a people person.

@ FIU - W vs Virginia - W vs Ball State - W vs Michigan State - L @ Rutgers - W @ Ohio State - L vs Iowa - W vs Penn State - W @ Minnesota - W vs Maryland - W @ Michigan - L vs Purdue - W 9-3. Probably too optimistic for some, but I think the S&C coaches are a big help and I think finally we can stay healthy. I would have loved to put MSU up as W but I have a feeling it will be another tight game that their experience overshadows our youth. I don’t think PSU will be that amazing this year. Yeah Mcsorely is still there but I just don’t see it after what I have looked into. I still think the go bowling but I don’t think they have the hype come mid season that people are thinking.

So it’s been awhile. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayer received back when I originally posted..... the time has come and this evening I will be putting down my fur child Indy. It’s gotten to the point where she will no longer take her nausea medicine and if she does it comes right back up. She’s also started to lose some hair in chunks. So again I appreciate the thoughts and prayers that were sent this way. I can’t thank you all enough. She’s had a fun day today playing some fetch and a pup cup for breakfast Cancer sucks whether it is in humans or our family pets. #ScrewCancer

I was sitting around the home office today and started thinking about this years football schedule. I’m not going to do predictions as that thread will start mid August I’d say. What i would like to do is look at each opponent and basically what I see from them/read on other boards. Have fun with discussions. First three opponents FIU- they lost their QB, but they made a bowl last year and have Florida talent. I expect a decent offense with a subpar defense in the opener UVA- they lost their QB and they lost a lot on their defense. Lost a great LB and then in the off-season I believe they lost a few players to off the field incidents as well as a pretty good DL retiring from football due to injuries. They have a JUCO QB coming in very mobile....And returning leading rusher is back....like I said their defense will need to fill some pretty big holes. Ball State- all I have to say is stomp on their throats and don’t let them back in the game like we did 2 years ago gosh that was ugly and so vanilla in play calling once we were up. They have a decent to good QB. RBs will be good, but again I would say our opponents biggest question is their defense. I will do my thoughts on big ten opponents once I look at their returning starters lists.

I’ve been on here for awhile now and I know this has been discussed, but anyone who tailgates in lot 12 or grass lots wanna meet up with me and my gf for a few tailgates this year? I go all out typically ribs and sides and the whole nine. I have a nice sound system as well that I setup. As of right now I will not be attending the home opener due to the fact my gfs best friend is getting married on that Saturday.....in Minnesota. Gf has said oh you can stay and go to the game, but we all know what that means....

Thank you. And yes they are she’s my child. Adopted her in AZ when I didn’t have family out there after college and she’s done a ton for me. So gonna treat her like the queen she is and when the time comes it will come.

Update. Surgery started a little while ago. Just got a call....surgery can’t go any further basically has cancer cells that were not detected are encasing her organs and it’s an aggressive type of what will probably be carcinoma from what this vet has seen in past animals....so thank you to all who sent good vibes and thoughts this way. Going to try to spend as much time as possible keeping her comfortable until it is too much.
-
For those that sent vibes and wished for a good surgery. Just got an update. They are keeping her over night due to very low levels of potassium in her blood.....they thought they could get the count up by noon today, but it is slowly being absorbed into bloodstream....so surgery will be tomorrow morning given her count has risen to a safe level to perform the surgery.

Oh yeah she’s the best. Rescued her out in AZ when I lived out there. She’s got personality, sass, and is a chill dog.
