  1. Oh yes I forgot they can see what feedback they get right?
  2. Max Montana (hoetzel) is declaring for draft... he would be a senior correct? Seems odd just looking at stats. Hmmm
  3. Word is he was impressed Loves the offense they want to run and hopefully he sees that playing in the big ten is better than FAU.
  4. he has also been quoted stating he just doesn’t want to be given the starting position he wants to earn it and compete for it. He’s a competitor.
  5. I saw Illini might be a landing spot due to Rod Smith being the new OC at Illinois. I wouldn’t mind it if we are looking at him, but if I were him and my old OC convinced his HC to let me go after him....I’m going since I know the offense
  6. I just answered your question.....didn’t have any smart remark in there....just answered, that I think he will stick by mentioning we held several early verbals last year. He seems very upbeat about it and it’s always nice to have family onboard. Other schools, I’m sure some will come into play but as of right now idk and haven’t seen any named
  7. We held several early commitments this past signing class.
  8. If you can go watch some of his videos he has on Twitter from 7 on 7/ camp drills. The kid attacks the ball at high point which is a skill that’s hard to teach....that’s coming from a former WR. Yes you can do drills and what not but on his game film he does it all the time. The kid has ups and sells out for many jump balls and usually he comes up with it. Great get and his dad is totally on board with the Hoosiers.... this kid and his dad remind me of our newest signee Rodgers and his father...they love CTA and what he’s about and are recruiting players left and right to join this class.
  9. Good for Noah. This is a step up for him. Somewhat short sighted I feel. But just like other realms. He needed a changed of scenery, pay and title. Good luck

  11. Now he can’t sign obviously yet but I’d say this is solid. It was down to Iu and Washington state
  12. Jamar Johnson committed tonight. Great get for secondary and the coaches. Man have they put together a nice class in just under/over a year depending on how you look at it 4.5 speed https://247sports.com/player/jamar-johnson-46042139
  13. Sorry for the long title. If you didn’t read it all..... basically what do you want to see from this team come the final spring practice/game and who do you want to see emerge from the shadows. To hit the first point. I would like to see this team find an identity on offense. Are we still going to be the run pass option game that Allen wants and will the QBs address their flaws? Will the line finally click on all cylinders like we were accustomed to seeing back with spriggs, Feeney and co? We didn’t have a lot of experience last year and shuffled lineups due to a lot of injuries on the front. Overall I feel like they did okay....not amazing but for what we were dealing with I was okay...just would like to see bigger holes for our running back crew. What QB will step up and take the leadership role and what young receivers will push the veterans? On the defensive side I really just want to see what pass rushers we have by the end of spring...and what linebackers step up from our young young group there. Other than that even though we lost fant, dutra and fields...I think our secondary is still going to be good. Players I would like to see take that step and emerge from the shadows this spring.... 1. Juwan Burgess usually you see kids of his caliber play right away but he was behind a deep secondary...he will get to fill the role of fields or dutra. 2. Juan Harris he looked okay and his strength was not over hyped when he did play he was able to get under kids pads and push them off the line...got hurt and I want to see him bounce back and take Nate Hoffs position. Ballou will help him lose that bad fat and put on more muscle and get his footwork right. 3. Caleb jones is a kid this staff raved about all fall camp but they saved him all season his length will put him at a tackle and for his size he has good footwork. 4. Mo Burnham and Mike Mcginnis....mo is a bigger body lb but still has some athleticism to him and McGinnis needs to work on speed. When he played he made good reads...just needs to work on initial steps and getting to the holes faster. 5. TE from any of these players. Hendershot saw special teams play but got hurt. Bonner showed some awareness in spring game but then faded from view come fall camp, and then Dorris who is athletic and idk where he has been. 6. Penix, Ramsey, or tronti. First if Ramsey is our guy for now (based off experience) I need him to make better reads when we do options (keep the dang ball, you’re a smart kid). Tronti from what I hear could have stepped in and taken over when Ramsey got hurt but we didn’t want to burn a RS for him...he’s a gym rat and strong and in practices I heard he threw a nice ball and has good pocket awareness. Penix arrived this month and will have all spring to show why he was a highly ranked QB. I just don’t want to force and pressure himself too much and make too many mistakes....he has time and plenty of it at IU. Last thing is we need someone in this group to step up to be a vocal leader 7. Last but not least I expect my boy Fitzgerald to come in and start hitting people. He will be used as backup husky or even be put in at Safety and might see time at LB but might need to put some lbs on before that time comes. I put him last because he will see the field this season no doubt, but he has a chip and he will prove it out on the field
  14. Yeah to what btown said. He’s still being given a chance at QB I use that word very soft.....when I say soft I mean he will play everywhere. Returns, defense and on offense there’s a good chance that he will be given his own package. Later as the season went on he told the coaches he is fine playing DB. He realizes that he is small for a QB and if he wants to get to next level...return man or DB will fit him the best. But don’t be surprised when he’s playing 2 ways or I guess 3ways if you include special teams. As Allen has always said you want your playmakers on the field when you can get them there.
  15. FWIW on 247 he was originally 874th overall player
  16. Devon Matthews has been bumped up to a 4* in 247 ratings. Made a huge jump to 219 recruit in nation. Fwiw
  17. I feel the same way. I think if he could have been switched full time to slot WR.....or DB.....I think he could have been better than what he is. But if I remember correctly he believed he made his voice known he wanted to play RB and coaches said okay earn it. He had a great burst of speed not great ball security but heck of an athlete. Just want to say I wish him the best and hope he finds what he needs.
  18. It’s finny that his pass was to taj Williams (former IU kid that never enrolled due to grades I believe then signed with TCU)
  19. Devonte Williams has transferred from IU to SE Louisiana. I’ll wait to see what develops after this. I would say still not another RB as we are deep still and Williams this year was more of a receiver than RB. I’m sure Allen and Co knew this was happening still think we take 2-4 more
  20. From who I know Cunningham most likely won’t be up. And if Stevie Scott plays defense he will be starting out at linebacker not DL. Yes you take athletes but I’m just saying what I’ve heard IU hasn’t been on this kid and we are focusing on Safeties, CBs, and DEs. If we can get an OL then coaches will take one but right now it’s DB and DE Since we didn’t get Charlton.
  21. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cunningham doesn’t make it up to Indiana for his visit. I don’t see us taking another RB and coaches want defensive bodies.
  22. Another hire idk how it will be named but he’s joking IU. I looked at his LinkedIn and his job started Jan 1 and he had a tweet today about joining coach Allen and ballou.
  23. He was a GA at ole miss when Allen was there I believe. He ran the same defensive scheme as Allen while he was at South Alabama and from stats he seems like he was pretty successful implementing it at USA. Allen has mentioned in his press conferences....that this hire will help with defense and special teams...allowing Allen to focus more on prepping and ultimately the offensive game plan. So it looks like Allen has learned that in his first season he must have not spent enough time really prepping on all sides. So good for him.
