  1. Tuttle isn’t pure dual threat but he’s more agile than most pocket passers and can extend plays
  2. Not necessarily. People never actually said anything on what the kid was. Said basically it was not a kid talked about that much and fans would be happy and the kid was not a flip
  3. Word is there is a waiver and coaches believe it will be passed and he will be eligible immediately
  4. Tuttle is the surprise. Looks like coaches were ready to announce.
  5. Nope same things. Wait til Wednesday.
  6. according to some of the people I know and with the program...... we should be signing this said QB. This QB tho is not baldwin and none of the others that we have visited recently such as Schlee or a couple other recruits that have been mentioned on twitter. I can’t get anything out of anyone who would or should know. All I know is that the staff is certain this person should sign......I have no reason as to why this is being hush hush but what I’ve been told by several people is thatfans will or should be very pleased with the staff and basically this person should be able to make a push or at least push penix and co.
  7. I know I have dogged on Wilson and his recruiting......it’s not to say he wasn’t good at identifying talent or getting a QB interested.......he had several talented QBs on campus during his day, now most HCs aren’t the head or main recruiters when it’s said and done.....but for in home visits and officials let’s just say once the parents and players met the guy.....he wasn’t very personable and a lot of parents were turned off by him. As well as some talented QBs
  8. Well we can look back to last years class and the athletes and true freshman that played this past season....you do realize football recruits are different when it comes to on the field success....right? It’s different from one and dones.... but just from last year you have James head, Stevie Scott, Cam Jones, Jaylin Williams, Devon Matthews....all building blocks that made plays and impact plays throughout the season....we aren’t OSU or Michigan. Never have been in the sense that we have a full class of ready to play players...I don’t know if it’s your ignorance to not do research on where these kids are coming from or if you just don’t care and feel like making comments here and there towards the at least one positive side of this team that is finally being built when it comes to actually having depth and players. This years class- if everything holds true....there’s more playmakers I believe, not to mention I believe there are 7 early enrollees (given 2 others that’s we lead for give verbal and sign) which can only help the development in the sense of learning the playbook and an extra 6mths of college weightroom training. Anyways onto the prospects- Sampson James will get playing time amen in the long run will contribute to building your conference wins Beau Robbins- has the size and fundamentals and some speed to develop as an edge guy which can lead to your point of building conference wins. Tiwan Mullen is a proven DB from Florida and plays tough competition and given his size maybe not this year, but years to come will help build towards your point of building to conference wins. David Ellis out of Michigan is probably the most under the radar recruit I’ve seen IU pick up in this class, he does it all from return, running and receiving. So to everyone and I’m sure you’re one of the guys that wishes for more speed and athleticism....well here’s your guy that will help with building to more conference wins. Dorian Jones and Kervens Bonahaomme (sp) are athletic linebackers who can play sideline to sideline which is what we are really missing on this team. Maybe not true playmakers from day one, but they can develop into solid Lbs that everyone wants. Oh and that’s can help reach the goal of more conference wins. I’m not going to go on and on about the talent in this class...go google search some stuff and analysis from scouts.... and im not sure where this conference win motto thing is coming from, you make it sound like for the past 20 years IU has Won 4 or more conferences games. WIlson had his final season at 4-5. I enjoyed Wilson, but to think going back to last season we would’ve gone 9-3 or something like that.....I’m sorry maybe some games would’ve gone different, but my oh my that man could not recruit depth to save his life. And to win conference game you somewhat have to have depth at key positions.....oh wow even tho Tom should hand over the reigns and focus on just HC duties....the man is actually talking about depth and at least he realizes that good teams have depth at each and every position.....CKW didn’t realize that in his tenure as a HC.
  9. My bad forgot that we can only be excited about basketball recruits and signing classes. Lol my bad
  10. From what I read is and what I’ve heard from family down in southern Indiana is that he is taking an official to cincy this weekend. He actually won’t be stepping on IUs campus. I believe Sheridan might be going down to visit for an in home.
  11. Well then Historically speaking I guess we shouldnt get excited about anything. Sorry your boy Wilson got fired. I think Allen is still adjusting, and I think with changes in duties we will Be fine. He is actually adressing depth and doing what a head coach does when it comes to building a team. I would say that if Wilson was the HC in 2017 we wouldn’t have made a bowl. Just look at his stats and if you want to talk about questionable game plans....let’s not forget Wilson’s mind boggling calls in 2016. But hey I understand there’s a handful of Debbie downers on here....oh well....bring on the High school head coach comments lol. Btw Wilson was a head coach in hs and went 0-10. Just for anyone who wants to relate correlations to former hs hc to college coaches.
  12. So are you happy or not? Just curious? Because on rivals if you take out the Long snapper IU actually has the 6th best class stars total wise. So....Is there a problem? Or just something to gripe about since seasons over? I would encourage you to watch some of the verbals films. Not to mention we still have 5-8 more spots to fill.
  13. I will say 8 is obviously the MAX I could foresee. That’s with possible transfers or kids calling an end to their football career. I haven’t heard anything just stating what I think on how many more spots
  14. Can I ask why? Everything I’ve heard is that’s hes pretty solid and visit went very very well when he was on campus.
  15. Yeah from what I’m hearing from several people is that this will hopefully be a full class right around that 23-25 range. Breakdown wise.....I’m hearing a bunch of things and also reading multiple things. This will probably be long as i will talk through some groups that we will still take players in QB— I say 1 spot left for sure and there’s a new name to watch current Louisville verbal Jaden Johnson just popped up on visit list this weekend I believe(don’t feel like flipping through tabs). I heard from my cousin that the Baldwin visit went well....will be interesting. I would not be mad if we took 2 in all honesty. But most likely only 1. WR-1-2 more. right now we have Jakes, Ellis is WR, Brown is WR.....I’d say we land Todd. And obviously Bell is a auto take for This staff. And I think it’s honesly down to Purdue and IU. I think OSU and PSU are out. OL- 3 more. 1 experienced guy and 2 young guys. DL- 1-2. interior I would say done unless Kristian Williams wants to verbal but not looking promising now. Latrell jean is next up. Edge rusher there are several names but Everitt Cunningham from EMCC would be a nice add. LB- 1-Cam Williams is left on the board. So 1 spot here Safety- 1- I would say Toomer who has always been a top target and is a current Stanford verbal....if he flips or wants to the staff takes him but this is just me and we have stepped up somewhat is Jamal Hill. His frame is nice for a senior in HS reminds me of Crawford from his tape. So overall.... 7-8 more spots left. Some positions may playout differently based on if any for sure takes give verbals or sign...it should be a fun fun December and early signing period. I will say that on another note with this class. I love the enthusiasm from Tiwan Mullen. One of the big gets for this class and he’s the most vocal on social media and love his love for this staff and this team.
  16. And I’m sure some money does get kicked back to the university it is the fact that reportedly 26.5 million just somehow found its way to the academic buildings and their budget, and the athletics received a very low percentage out of where that 26.5 came from........
  17. I believe you are correct. I referenced the volleyball and wrestling facility. They both get main use of that. But even if it were title 9. The football team can still have their own lifting facility in the NEZ. Heck just look at what Clemson has....no other team at Clemson has access to that facility from my understanding. All IU would have to do after making NEZ weightroom football only.....they build another weightroom for the other programs and teams and bam....
  18. You talking as a whole or just $$? Confused by this comment I guess. I don’t think anyone is saying with influx of money takes us from predominantly bad football school to CFP contenders. I think a majority of the IU football fans would just like to see seasons consist of undefeated non conference and getting 3-4 wins in conference play. Consistently averaging 45-48k In fans a game and so on. Nobody is saying we need to be the OSU and Michigan of the east. Because historically that’s probably not possible. But we are asking for a consistent product and a lot of consistent products come from investment and keeping up with competitors.
  19. Yes that is my understanding and I get that part that it’s IUs money as a whole......but also from my understanding and if I read and heard it correctly at the beginning of the year 26.5 million from BTN monies were around....if I remember correctly only a handful of that was left for the athletics to use. To me that’s wrong and not right. There’s tons of east and west coast money that can be donated for the funding of buildings on the academic side.....that can also be said for athletics, but let the athletics use and keep majority of their money that is being made from nationally televised games, BTN, bowls and etc.
  20. Someone on another site and maybe it’s been mentioned here before....or in this thread I forget from all that I’ve read and listened too.....the only thing I have against McRobbie and even it goes to the trustees if I understand how approvals work.....I do not agree with the fact that BTN monies went to academic buildings and on the other hand I would not want academic monies going towards athletic facilities and so on. However, it’s years and years of not actually giving the football team what they need to try to succeed. Whether it is cash and backers for a HC or just an HCs supporting cast. To the whole athletics motto of being one team. The fact is we aren’t one team. Basketball and football are money makers. I do support what Fred has done for the other sports.....the baseball and softball teams needed that upgrade badly. The volleyball and wrestling team needed those upgrades.....as a wrestling coach.....that wrestling facility and facilities for wrestling were worse than some hs facilities. However you always have to be moving with basketball and football. Someone on another site said screw it and find a donor to build another weight room to accommodate the other facilities and then you give the football team the NEZ. That gives them a top 5 training facility just based on size alone in the country. That alone can help with some of the recruiting battles IU has to get through. To me that’s a pretty easy fix compared to what football can do to stand out on facilities...this ties back to BTN money being pulled from athletics mainly money being invested back into your basketball and football programs. That’s my take. It’s on the checks and balances system that is in place at IU.
  21. IU- 34 Stench from up north- 24
  22. Yeah considering it’s all he whines about lol. I’m sorry I was not blown away by les miles and name a coach that was up and coming that our fans would have jumped for joy about.......if we hired a non power 5 coach we would’ve said oh boy yay. And then whined it’s not a home run hire. We are going to go in and lure someone away from their low tier power 5 job. Or as IU fans you jump for joy and praise the man when he’s a DC who turned around Kevin Wilson’s awful awful defense and then when he’s hired and he’s adjusting to a HC job the same people come back around and say he’s a HS HC. Get out of here. Oh by the way if you argue Wilson recruited tons of players and was good.....thank him for the holes on both lines and the lack of recruiting. Tom Allen is actually addressing the needs of the team and trying to build an actual roster.
  23. Les miles was a dying breed and there’s a reason he was let go from LSU. And I believe most HCs masquerade for a little while since I mean you do have to move up the chain from coordinator just saying that’s how coaching works. He’s a proven DC. He’s turned around defenses. He could’ve gone a few years as a DC probably but when are we as IU fans going to realize you can’t just keep hiring coaches that will use this as a stepping stone. That’s what Wilson was working towards. Then where would we have been oh probably hiring a proven sunbelt coach. Hire a guy that knows how to coach...head coaching is a learning curve....just like any industry you have to adjust and looks like he will be handing over his DC duties and just focusing on HC duties. Hey thanks for playing tho
