  1. I wonder if Jalen Haralson will be portaling and if that is a guy DeVries would want. He doesn’t seem like the prototypical DeVries recruit. I love early transfer portal time when it’s recruiting in hyperspeed and ultimate impact. Seems like 4-5 high impact targets will be needed.
  2. He’s got an interesting skill set. Hes fast and above average handle for his size. However his handle isn’t tight enough to attack at this level and it would be his biggest strength. He lacks the strength needed on offense and in defense. This is his 2nd biggest issue. His 1st biggest issue is his grip strength/hands. The scout is to dig and swipe him constantly because he losses the ball so easily. and 3rd. His finishing ability. I think if he had a great rebounding big he played with he could release in transition and use his speed to get cheap buckets. We never use him that way but I think that could be a strength if he wasn’t our only big on the court. People say Sparks was better. I don’t agree there. I feel like something could be unlocked with Bailey, but we can’t seem to find it.
  3. Was busy in the office today. Couldn’t keep track today. Obviously didn’t miss much. But Kudos to the staff and girls for competing in the second half of the season and not packing it in. Learn from it, hope to improve roster, and go from there.
  4. Rumors from Kansas Fans that Bidunga is talking to teams. I don’t know we will want to pay what he wants, but the chance will exist again. I’d like to see him as a Hoosier. But he also might just be the modern Keion Brooks for Indiana fans. Lol
  5. We agree. And Agree with this math. Seems like what I’d expect the plan to be, thereabouts.
  6. A rematch with Northwestern sadly for us will be a real challenge, if that’s how it pans out.
  7. I found it interesting. Teri Moren caught herself saying the girls think they can keep winning then quickly stopped herself and said we aren’t done yet or something along those lines. Sums up the game today but after yesterday it’s nice to have a punchers chance at least.
  8. It’s not definitive and it’s still the same. The end of the bench guys came cheap. Last year. And retaining end of the bench guys will be equally cheap this year. Our 5 non playing players this year didn’t eat up much budget as it is.
  9. The 3 freshman are getting paid. Likely more or as much as Ristic/Ancinovic. Sisley, Dorn, Miles will get paid what they were getting paid or more. It’s no different. It’s not like these guys are playing for free. Annual contracts. Money will be the same unless we raise our NIL. Building from scratch is just excuses dollar for dollar. Luckily or unluckily we have to replace all our top end money getters. So many is available again. We don’t have to find an extra 5 in the portal but the money is all the same.
  10. Except Tucker. lol. KJ didn’t want to give him a hug. The Conweway stuff is real. I guess he was liking instagram posts about letting him play. And what not. Oh well. We are better when he’s good. Shame.
  11. OSU is on a top level right now. I don’t feel good about this one at all. But all least we have our shot.
  12. Will miss watching Shay play basketball. She’s so tough. Crafty. Caffey wanted those Free Throws at the end. That’s impressive in its own right.
  13. And now thoughts on DeVries in these regards? Hence, we need as much money as we can get. lol.
  14. Coaching and scouting are deeply important but you have to start somewhere that is a neutralizer for competition. Izzo, Sampson, Painter, etc, etc. prove that Budget isn’t the end all be all but it’s a starting point. And critical to compete. and using scout and coaching as the other important metrics, I’d say DeVries has nothing to. Brag about.
  15. Agree! I think we end up with 5. And not all seniors this time. I think we try to keep guys that get minutes now. The non players are anyone’s guess. I wish I could have seen Drake and Harris. I’m whatever about our end of bench guys. I want to keep Sisley and have him shoot 500 free throws a day all offseason.
  16. Budget is #1 and #1 by a large margin for comparative metrics and expectations. Coaching acumen is often more or equally important. But great staffs overachieve the metrics of budget. That’s the parameters. what other metrics do you want to use to set expectations?
  17. Right, so the math equals and we only free up money from our top 6. But we are still repaying 7-13 equal deals or we are dumping them and getting other cheap fillers. We aren’t at an advantage on these kids. Pay is the same and maybe they help, maybe they don’t. Spending better for top 5 will be key just like it was for this season.
  18. Swiss cheese defense. Letting the post get anything they want to start the game. Over and over. Everything opens up after that. That’s what we were able to down with Holmes on our good teams.
  19. Performance standards were set by the coach with those funds by picking the roster he picked. anyway, hopefully this offseason he’ll demonstrate the desire to field a strong team that covers the basics that winning teams need. That I, from my couch projected right along the way.
