It is exciting to learn guys games. Based on the kinda cool promo IUBB did to promote our team, we are not an “off the bus team”. Besides our 2 bigs we aren’t intimidating off the bus in the slightest. But we do have some pieces and I’m so ready for, at some point, the whole to be better than the sum of our parts. And I think this roster will need that to an extent. I hope if 5 in 5 lawsuits become a reality we use a spot 13 on someone that can help.

Miami and the new coach has a lot of MO behind them. He seems poised to be the next superstar. If he has a good year or 2 I’m guessing Duke will view him as the Scheyer replacement.

Almost every game has a controversy, Besides Belgium beating a sleeping dog of the US. And the controversies never seem to favor the underdog. I know many don’t want to believe in conspiracies but at some point you have to acknowledge some chicanery going on. Last night I swore I saw a ref wearing an Argentinian jersey at one point. Lol

I’d love to know what teams are spending this year. UCLA just paid 6+ million after having a pretty set roster with some already solid players. Texas just spent HUGE after having a top 10-15 roster already established. Some incredible money being spent.

Curious wording on his part twice now. So long as football stays relevant maybe I’ll eventually care less about basketball.

I want to like him. But it just feels off that he’s capable of being a top 10 guy. He feels like a top 40 comfort guy. Iowa type level of coach, that gets a bunch of guys and Wins a little more than he loses. Tons of generalities and hope. Roster is improved this year but also very thin and deficient in suitable backups. We stepped up, but other teams have stepped up even more. The top is very, very good this year. We just aren’t there, even if healthy. We’ve got a punchers chance thank goodness. Hope to be proven wrong this season.

Man, some teams are going after it this year. Wow. Talent in the top 10 better than ever.

UCLA added another Euro too. They have some real talent this year. USC, UCLA, MSt, Michigan, Illinois look great on paper. I think that’s my list. I think Maryland could be good too. Ohio State is semi interesting. Oregon and Washington seem down.

I like this a lot. I think Mizzou will be good this year. Tons of talent on that team. It’s a good test and a nice game.

Some of this type stuff is what tells me DeVries is a vibes type coach. The way he talks and explains basketball. He’s completely Anti-Cignetti. He got blindsided by things that I and many others saw coming last season. Similarly punting roster spots 11-13 this year and hoping the freshman can step up. Some coaches you trust to know. DeVries is certainly not that for me. Hopefully that can change over the next 2 years.

Pretty rough effort in this one. Had no chance against Spain anyway.

I think in addition to this being right on, Painter has a good pitch to HS recruits. He can afford them. They eventually play. They usually have great success at some point. He rarely recruits over them in the transfer portal (or so it seems). I think Hill will be an interesting case because he’s that rare Purdue high level recruit, that is definitely Ranked in potential over production thus far. Everything I’ve heard on Savage has been great so far though. I think as stronger NiL programs lean on the Transfer portal, teams like Purdue can up their standards a bit and grab guys that others overlook.

I thought it a bad call when it happened. Yellow, sure. The timing of the reverse is strange for sure. They should have done it the next day. Can you imagine the the behind the scenes stuff that was going on in the days between to lead to this decision? My Goodness

France and Argentina with the easier paths for a rematch. USA with what I think might be the toughest path. Brazil vs Mexico (IF)will be incredible.

Incredible matchup and effort from Cape Verde. Sensational game. The Cape Verde player was absolutely fouled on the edge of the box in the waning minutes. I think he was outside the box and fell into the box. The broadcast never replayed the play. Social meds did and it was a blatant trip. Anyway, the better team won and it was an extremely entertaining match.

Ball did not alter trajectory at all.

You believe it grazed off the Croatian player? Zero change on ball rotation. Watched slow mo zooms from 2 different angles and the rotation didn’t change at all. just a crappy way to go out. either team is probably food for Spain and this matchup is great just hard not to feel shorted from the Croatian side.
