  1. I'm admittedly too lazy to go back and read this thread, but people are enamored with Collins? I said after we lost at home to NW that anyone who mentioned Collins as a possible candidate should be disqualified from posting in the coaching candidate thread. I'm puffing my chest out and saying that even more strongly through the interwebs now.
  2. Wow, this is incredible. And for anyone who subscribes, you can find this video on ESPN+ by searching "Identity". Audio quality is much better.
  3. The other question is does he get his minutes back from Geronimo when he returns?
  4. There's a lot more to it, actually. The more significant outlier in this situation is that nobody played a full non-conference schedule. PSU played 4 non-conference games. A normal season has what...10? 12? non-conference games. So add 6 or 7 wins against cupcakes and boom! 13-8, 14-8....well over .500 with some really strong wins. The outlier/strange scenario is that a 7-8 team this season can have the same strength of resume as a 14-8 team did last season at the same point. It just doesn't include all of the wins that don't actually count toward a resume.
  5. I absolutely hate that @ PU is our last game of the season. But if it truly does come down to needing one more win, we can at least think of it like this.....a loss @ PU doesn't hurt the resume and there is a very high likelihood that we'll have a opportunity for a quad 1 win at the Big Ten tournament. So we'd still have a chance to get that one needed win.
  6. Take a hint. And a hike. There are plenty of other threads.
  7. Yeah I turned away when I saw Bohanon caught the carom off or our player on that last heave. I couldn't bear to watch that go in. I was more surprised that it didn't. If he turns and squares up even just a bit that goes in. May have not gotten if off on time, but it goes in.
  8. Did anyone else think to themselves when we went up 3, "well at least whatever junk Bohanon throws up will only tie it." It was an absolute given that shot was going in.
  9. Is there such thing as a zero seed? I mean the number of quality wins we'll rack up by running through the rest of the schedule + Big Ten tourney will be through the roof. I could see a scenario where we are granted a bye through to the sweet 16.
  10. Belmont is 21-1. Casey Alexander did a pretty good job at Lipscomb before that. He’s 48. He’s also from TN and coaching here at his alma mater. The strongest thing I would say is that I’m intrigued. I’m not even advocating that he should be in consideration. Just saying I’m intrigued.
  11. So you want us to go out and put a completely not competitive at all offer out there and expect a top tier coach who could get a muuuuuuuch better offer somewhere else to even consider it let alone take it? You don’t have to like the long contracts. But any coach who walks away laughing in our face at that offer is not weak. They are smart.
  12. I'm only one person, but if this makes any difference at all.....I've lived in Tennessee for 14 years now. I can't tell you how many times it's come up during a conversation about sports with someone that when I say I went to IU the first reaction is something like "oh so you're just waiting on basketball season". Of course, now that we're the premier football program in conference, if not the nation, I can fire back pretty quickly, but that aside, my point is we are still very much seen as a big basketball school. I work with two Kansas fans and they recognize IU is still a basketball blue blood that just needs the right guy. The history is not erased. And if this was not a good job anymore I would think I'd get more reactions like "yeah basketball used to be big there, right?" Maybe not....maybe they're just trying to be nice down here (side note: southern hospitality is 100% an absolute myth). Just some more thoughts. I'd probably compare it more to Texas football. They have eeeeevvvvvvvverything they need off the field. But b/c they haven't been that great for the past decade plus (yeah I know they won a title in like 2004) it doesn't change my opinion of whether it's a good job or not. It's still a top tier job.
  13. I would word this slightly differently in that Indiana is not as attractive of a job as it used to be mainly because it's been so long since we had a high level of sustained success (among many other things). But we definitely have the potential and ALL of the fundamentals to be a great job. I may be missing something but I don't think there is anything missing off the court (TV exposure, facilities, recruiting base, fans still willing to show up, etc) that is holding us back. It's all there besides the on-court success. If this was the equivalent to Nebraska football, i'd be worried. They have all of the things needed off the field besides a strong recruiting base and now every other program has the same TV exposure so they have a harder time recruiting nationally. I don't see how Nebraska football ever becomes a top tier elite program again. I don't think there is any of those outside factors holding IU back from being elite again, therefore I think many will still see this as a great job.
  14. Miller was not outside of the restricted area on that offensive foul on Race. Never got his second foot out.
  15. Every time I watched Kansas’ offensive this season I just kept thinking man they are 9 straight WR bubble screens away from breaking out.
  16. I'm on Chattanooga Whiskey company lately. I like Bourbon but I don't like supporting anything from Kentucky so my options are limited.
  17. Are you kidding? It's 1:16 in the PM HERE. So NO IT'S NOT TOO EARLY! Though I myself would be in the bonus by the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half. I don't know what that means but it's supposed to be a joke about passing out too early or something.
  18. Sounds nice, but the FT line may not be our best chance to score :-(
  19. I'm not opposed to getting an all timer of a home whistle to pick up a nice W at this point.
  20. True. I'm only referring to a bubble in that moment in time. If someone is putting together a projected field, there is a bubble at that moment in time. Teams seeded 7, 8, 9, maybe even some 10s aren't considered bubble teams at that moment.
  21. It doesn't mean the bubble gets bigger. You're just describing how teams move on and off the bubble in both directions. I think Stuhoo and USPS covered it pretty well so I won't regurgitate that.
  22. Ah, but it sounds like I'm succeeding quite well :-). The difference between teams just inside the top 25 and just outside the top 25 is also slim. But that's beside the point. You said you consider anything 7 seed and below to below to be on the bubble. Consider whatever you want. But I highly doubt the committee, or any expert projecting the field, considers the teams they slot in as a 7, 8, or 9 seed as being on the bubble. They are considering those teams to be squarely in the field. The bubble on selection Sunday is not 35, 40 teams. Just like you, or anyone, can consider any ranked team unworthy of being ranked, but the folks that vote on and make the rankings are the ones who decided whether they get a ranking or not. And someone ranked #15, 16, 17 are safely in the rankings. Those ranked #23, 24, 25...they're on the rankings bubble.
  23. Correct. What I said was dumb. Very dumb. The fact that you think my statement and your statement aren't comparable at all is, at best, misguided.
