Dang....I just searched everywhere on the Fox sports app, Fox sports Go app, foxsports.com, and didn't find any replay options anywhere. That got me curious enough to chat with a rep and Chelsea tells me that replays of sports shown on fox sports channels will not be available through the fox sports apps or foxsports.com but instead will be available on the Fox NOW app and Fox.com. That really makes a lot of sense, Chelsea. I don't feel like having another app on my phone, but I did confirm it's available (w/ TV subscription) on Fox.com.

Seriously, all of them. Even the limited minutes Lander played I thought he played better defensively than he has all season. Had a nice little break up of a back door pass. Race scored 1 point but fought his tail off defensively. Hunter only had 2 points but it felt like he played with more energy and intent that I’ve bet seen. All of them.

Gutsiest win of the AM era? I haven’t read the thread at all and I’m sure it’s been covered but FREE THROWS!! We could have won by 17...20? Huge props to the aggressive and ready to go Rob, Geronimo ready to fill some huge minutes, and just a team full of guys finally ready to fight their ***** off.

Shut this thread down. Just like we’ve been telling you fools. Archie is our guy, just be patient b/c we will knock off a top 5 team on the road this season. Exactly what we’ve been saying all along. #pumper -

I'm sure he did. And it seems inconceivable that he didn't do that at UK as well, especially with world wide wes around. I'm intentionally leaving those things (including his crowning achievements at both previous stops being vacated) out of the argument for why we should or should not hire him. I'm also leaving out the fact that I don't believe there is a single chance in hell he would leave UK and come to IU. -

Another point about Cal....It's fair to look at how he did before UK where he wasn't relying on one and done's. Let's leave the vacated seasons out of the discussion for a minute. My counterargument is first to throw what he did at UMass in the garbage. If we're talking about what someone did in the 80s and 90s, not interested. So let's look at Memphis. Since an argument will be made that he proved he can win without relying on one and done's at Memphis, and let's assume he goes back to his Memphis ways of running a program, here's what that looks like: NIT, NIT, NCAA first round, NCAA 2nd round, NIT.....then his real success from year 6 on. 6 years to build that. This isn't advocating for keeping Archie for 6 years. Just pointing out that if you think he can win in other ways, the example we have of that was building a program up for 6 years before he actually did win in another way. -

Fair enough, but I don't really believe we are in desperation mode as a program. Desperation mode was after we fired Sampson and had scraps left of a roster to move forward with and sanctions to work through. We haven't won at the level we want to and expect to for a long time. But everything else is there for us to do besides the on court success led by the right person roaming the sidelines. I agree that we need a home run hire, and in order to hit a home run you have to swing for the fences. I just think hiring Cal is swinging for the fences with your eyes closed. It is indeed possible that you'll make contact and hit that home run. I'm not willing to bet on it though. -

For me it has more to do with the fact that Cal's way of doing is far from the only proven way to have a successful program. He's built UK as it is largely on the one and done player, while occasionally sprinkling in some players that stick around 2 years. It's produced one championship and several tournament runs we can surely be jealous of. But it's also produced this year. He may be a decent coach, but he's also been able to take advantage of simply having really really good players that he can't screw it up. That's not the only way to go about it. And in my opinion that method is becoming more and more of a gamble with there being plenty of opportunities for players to play overseas and get paid, and the G-league starting to take one and dones out of the mix. On top of that, UK fans have to be okay with massive roster turnover every year. That fits UK better b/c they don't have a solid funnel of high level recruits coming from their own state every year. Indiana does, and can win by recruiting right at home (though of course we need to recruit nationally as well). I like seeing guys like Yogi, Hulls, Franklin, etc. stick around several years and even Cody and Trayce if they're only here a couple. I wouldn't want to wonder from year to year who is even going to be on the roster, b/c again, my main point is that it's not the only proven way to do it and his method is becoming more and more of a gamble every season. Now, add in one big point you made....he may only be around 5-6 years. You're willing to take that gamble on a guy who may very well be on the downside of his career, with no guarantee at all that he can regain the type of success he had at UK, may take a few years to build that if does regain that success, knowing he won't even be around that long? The possibility that he could come in and in 5 or 6 years bring us a couple of final fours and another banner I would bet my mortgage is equally or less likely than he comes in and stinks up the place trying to implement a one and done to the NBA pipeline, gets us to 1 sweet sixteen and a couple tournaments and alienating the recruiting relationships in the state along the way. Nah. No way. It's a desperation, hail mary, full court heave of a hire. Sure, there is a chance that full court heave goes in. The slam dunks may not be available or we may overthrow the lob when they aren't looking. That doesn't mean we should attempt a full court heave when we can run some offense and look for a good shot. Yes, I took that analogy/pun right up the finish line, then blew past it and ran another lap with it. -
I remember so arrogantly telling some of my Purdue fan friends that I hope they enjoyed a couple sweet 16s while we were down b/c their window was officially over. I feel so sad. How naive I was.

Father of 1 as well. Do the rest of the world a favor and please make sure you are never in any position whatsoever to advocate for/mentor/coach/teach/etc. women for the entirety of your existence. This comment alone makes you are wholly unfit to do so. Now translate that statement into something that would get me banned from this board....that’s what I really mean. -

It was an absolute crime to have the shooters that team did and not design something to effectively attack a zone you 100% knew was coming. He committed 42 high crimes. -

Agreed...I included Nebraska as a game that could have gone the other way, but considering the margin of victory, it is the outlier. -

Oh yeah. I’m fully aware we are as close to being 6-8 as we are to being 10-4. -

Right. And logically, a tourney team every year who makes it to the sweet 16 every 3rd will consistently be a top 25 team, many times a top 10 team, and would be recruiting well. Knowing where we are now....holy cow if we had that for the last 13 years and we were on here complaining (I’m putting myself squarely in the camp who would have serious questions)...I’d take that blissful ignorance every day of the week right now. -

Call me crazy, but I don’t think IU should have any different expectations in basketball than UK, Kansas, Duke, UNC, etc.... We are just so far (time-wise) from being at that level that it’s become harder to imagine. There isn’t anything off the court (facilities, fan base passion, proximity to high level recruits, tv revenue and exposure, etc) preventing us from being that level of a program. This would be Crean’s 13th year? Had he consistently made the tournament and we were making a sweet 16 appearance every 3rd year, I agree he would still be here. But make no mistake, we’d be quite restless about him not being the right guy to take us to the next step. Not sure he’d be fired yet, but a significant portion of the fan base would be (rightfully in my opinion) questioning if we want sweet 16s or do we want banners. -

I keep wondering what the mood would be if we had pulled of the FSU game, and if a foul would have been called at the end of regulation against Wisconsin and TJD makes at least one free throw. Are we happy right now? Even if nothing else at all changed? If we're still a terrible shooting team, if our offense still struggled like it does, if we still got embarrassed by Purdue again, if we still didn't have recruiting momentum.....but we were 10-4, likely ranked and solidly projected to be in the field as something like a 6 seed. This is not an attempt to say "look how close we are!" I would have done that in previous seasons, but it doesn't carry much weight right now. Just curious to think about. -
I don't really pay much attention to UT sports and I'm not near as in touch with UT alum friends these days either. I'm nowhere near having any inside info at all, so I likely don't have any different answer here than what you already know. Freeze is the name I see the most. The guy from Coastal as well. I've heard plenty of people say they would take Kiffin back. The funny thing is I think UT football is a pretty decent comparison to IU basketball. Previously far more successful, lots of history, has shown some signs of success but generally pretty mediocre in recent memory. UT fans think of their program as being elite, but it becomes a bit detached from reality. Logically, I don't think UT is anywhere near the historical relevance to college football that IU is to college hoops. When our fans throw out the best of the best names for coaches we think we could get and should get, I think it's far more based in reality than when UT football fans do the same.

I believe it's official now. Are we nervous? I really don't think we should be. Joe Rexrode, who writes for the Athletic down here, pushed Allen's name a while back as someone UT should go after if Pruitt were let go. Yet the fanbase seemed to remember the end of the Gator Bowl too much to get on board. Good. I have a feeling TA is too locked in to be interested in a job at a program under investigation, especially knowing where he has the IU program in comparison at this point. Now if they get turned down by their first 3 choices, I'll get nervous.

Goodman and Dauster did about 11 minutes on their podcast about the current state of IU hoops. Nothing terrible fascinating about it but at one point they said who do you bring in if you’re gonna fire Archie and Goodman put Beard in the same category as Stevens in terms of reality. I think his comment was something like “no chance Brad Stevens is coming...you’re not getting Chris Beard to come to Bloomington.” No shocker at all to here that about Stevens, and I’m not that surprised to hear he thinks that about Beard, I was only surprised to hear how definitely he said it. Your post seems to support that. -
It baffles me how much more ready Purdue always seems to be to play us, and how much more they seem to care about this game. I said it last night, but what was even more concerning last night is their players carried a look all night that they already knew they were going to win this game. We seemed to want to get excited and gloat and flex if we cut a lead down to 2 or 3 points. Then PU just got back to business and put us back in our place.
