  1. ARENADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. This may not be for the coaching candidate thread.....but what do you think the chances are that we end up playing a back to back with MSU when they come to Bloomington? We could play an early Saturday tipoff and then a sunday night tipoff. We'd both have at least 2 days off on both sides of those games. Probably zero chance, right?
  3. You see, you're actually asking the wrong question. The question is, if this ends up on ESPN, does being on ESPN even matter anymore? The answer is no, b/c at that point we will have had exactly ZERO GAMES BROADCAST LIVE ON TIK TOK!! Even if we had games on tik tok it wouldn't matter b/c the real issue is that Archie's polos are always 2 sizes too big. Even the right sized polo won't dig is out of the hole he's put us in b/c it comes down to his waffles needing to be purple. And we all know recruits don't want anything to do with purple waffles. So to answer your question, the answer is clearly false.
  4. That loss to IU is 3 spots away from being a quad 1 win for us. Let's hope they keep it going.
  5. Again, you're fighting a battle at a war that isn't even happening right now. The core of your argument is that the program isn't where it needs to be, and should be. We actually all agree on that. But once again, the discussion was not about what our social media presence is, how positive or negative it is, etc. You've been arguing about not being on ESPN, instead being on FS1 a lot, and how our national perception for recruiting is affected by not being on ESPN. USPS made some counterpoints, then you argue that recruits aren't flipping through channels, they are getting their info from social media. I point out that you're contradicting yourself, and you think the discussion is about the quality of our social media presence. It's incredible.
  6. As much as anybody being recruited by us, which means they will likely follow the relevant accounts, needs to see. But once again, way to just zoom past the point, and as previously mentioned by Hov, just change what the argument is about.
  7. Ah...wow. Then my apologies if I came across strong. At least on this board it seems even the strongest Archie supporters have at very least come around to the fact that his future is up for discussion.
  8. You have an incredible ability to own yourself. You’ve gone on and on about being in ESPN on more than one occasion. And how we get relegated to FS1. Our national perception is important for recruiting!! Then you admit recruits don’t flip through TV channels. They get their info on social media (or they are streaming by the way). Hah! We have as much social media exposure as any other program. And FS1 is just as accessible to stream as ESPN is. So which is it? My guess is your answer is whatever supports the current sentence you are trying to type.
  9. It’s absolutely incredible sometimes.
  10. Has there been a single person on this board say he absolutely needs one more year? Seriously. Has one single person said everyone needs to pipe down b/c Archie needs a 5th year?
  11. I saw he offered the 2023 #14 ranked player in the nation, a DB from GA yesterday. Swinging for the fences first day on the job!!
  12. You should take up drinking.
  13. How we got to this point in the discussion and you thought conversation was about this is just beyond me. I’ll just go a different direction and say I wish we could all sit around a table with some beers and have a chat about IU hoops. At very least we all want the same thing.
  14. My intention was never to dig up any discussion about whether Archie is worthy of continuing to be the coach and debating his resume. That's all been covered plenty so I was definitely not trying to start that debate. It was about evaluating the one single point of NCAA tourney appearances (while again, I'm acknowledging there is plenty of other things he should be judged on). If you are prepared to say that his evaluation on whether he should be fired or not should include NCAA tournament appearances, and you're assessment is that he should be judged as being 0-3 on NCAA tournament appearances, you are not applying the proper context and critical thinking necessary.
  15. Yes, I know. On paper, he doesn't have one. I'm not going to type out everything again. Just re-read my posts.
  16. You could write a book on how to miss the point. Re-read my 2nd post (a practice you could put to use far more often than you are). In particular the part where I tell you to re-read my first post, in particular the part where I say, "There is plenty else to judge, yes...". Like all the things you're mentioning. My statement of "there is plenty else to judge" is literally acknowledging that an NCAA tournament appearance is not the ONLY thing to judge. But all of those other things had nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. You're fighting a battle at a war that isn't even happening right now.
  17. Re-read my post (a practice you could put to use far more often than you are). See in particular the part where I said, "There is plenty else to judge, yes...". I agree, on the very surface level, on paper, he does not have a NCAA tournament appearance. If our conversation is has Archie coached IU in a NCAA tournament, the answer is no. If the conversation is should he be fired, and one of the criteria is to evaluate NCAA tournament appearances, that requires far more context and critical thinking. If you are prepared to say that one of the reasons that should factor into him being fired is b/c we have zero NCAA tourney appearances, you are not qualified to make that decision b/c you lack the ability to think critically and put things in proper context, which I'm not surprised to be typing right now. 1 appearance may not be enough either, but in the context of that discussion, he has 1 appearance.
  18. I get what you're saying, but this isn't an entirely fair assessment. If we are truly judging results, he has 1 NCAA tournament appearance. There is plenty else to judge, yes, but that would have made his 3 year progression: no postseason, NIT quarters, NCAA tourney. I'm not happy with where we are and I'm not advocating that he's the guy. But if he goes, I'll feel most sorry for him not having the chance to finish last season. It very well could have ended with a loss to PSU on thursday in the BTT and an immediate bounce in an 8/9 game the following thursday. But it could have also ended in a decent run in the BTT, a win as a #7 seed in the first round and who knows what could happen in a matchup vs. a 2 seed. (cue the "uh yeah we weren't gonna beat PSU and weren't gonna win any tournament games and my evidence is that i'm just pissed off all the time" crowd)
  19. One name I never heard floated at all from anyone was Josh Heupel. And a quick scroll through the official welcome announcement tells me that his name was nowhere near any of the fanbase's wishlist. Who knows if it will work out, but if you need a solid laugh, go check the comments. That place is a mess.
  20. I look forward to reading the same thing over and over again, and then again, and then over and over again a few more times, from the same people for another offseason and all of next season. Also excited about anyone who accepts the statement you make, understands there is nothing that will happen to change it, and chooses to try to focus on anything other than constant negativity as people who just don't get it. Long live the pumpers vs. the dumpers.
  21. Interesting contract notes. We're paying him the same amount that Wommack is getting paid for this new gig at South Alabama. I'm sure the opportunity to be a head coach was going to win out, but I wonder if we had any discussions with Wommack about paying him....$800K? $900K? to stick around? If we were willing to pay a new DC $700K, were we willing to offer Wommack more to have at least another year of continuity knowing how much we had returning on D? This is not a knock on the new DC. He seems like a great hire. Just interesting.
  22. Haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere but my apologies if it has. We moved from #55 to #40 in the NET rankings with that win last night. Resume looks significantly different being 1-4 in Quad 1 (yeah, still not great) with the 1 being a Quad 1A win vs. 0-5 in quad 1. Combined 5-6 record in quads 1/2. Stanford and Providence hovering not too far below the quad 1 line.
  23. Yeah, I got ya. I think we just have some wires crossed here. I have the same app you're showing. I have it on my phone, ipad, apple TV, etc. DirecTV is a supported provider. I stream live sports through that same app all the time. For some reason, I do not see any option to access replays on that same fox sports app. Funny part is I don't even need that. I DVR'd the game. I was just trying to contribute to the conversation about where to find the replay....and have obviously done very poorly in my attempt.
  24. I have the fox sports app. I have the fox sports go app as well, only b/c I just haven't deleted it yet. We have DirecTV that includes all of the Fox sports channels. I often stream live events on the fox sports app, but I can't find any option for replays. Very weird. And I specifically asked that question on a live support chat and they told me to use the Fox NOW app. This is making me feel even more like a luddite.
