  1. Uhh...wut? I'm not sure which part you're going after here. If you're saying there are far better IU connected folks to run an NIL collective, much like the HH guys have set up, then yeah I'll agree with you. If you took my post as suggesting that people will venmo these guys money to funnel to recruits while they interact with them....that's not what I was saying. My point was that they're now in a position of connecting players with NIL opportunities. Any interaction with a recruit should be cut off simply b/c it could be perceived as some sort of booster/under the table $$ moment. Maybe not, but if I'm a rival school, in this case Illinois, I'm all over this trying to pin something on these guys and their NIL collective to get IU in trouble for recruiting violations.
  2. What's unfortunate is the whole NIL collective thing they are doing could actually be extremely beneficial to Indiana. I don't know much about NIL stuff, but I'd be shocked if it's okay to start getting incoming recruits involved in that. So, beyond the creepiness of how they interact with recruits, they especially need to cut that $hit out if it's going to land us in hot water b/c of their NIL efforts.
  3. Agreed, I just wish there was a 21-25, 312 yards, 3 TDS performance mixed in there against Idaho.
  4. Sparty is way better, Michigan is way better, PSU is way better…Maryland and Rutgers are better. Minnesota and Purdue aren’t going to be easy. 6-6 currently seems like a pretty daunting task.
  5. I've got a bad feeling about this one. Any other time, losing to a top 10 team at home wouldn't be much to worry about. But it just feels like this game could make or break our season. If it's a hell of a game and we lose, I won't lose hope for the season yet. But if it ends up something like 35-16, with a tricky away game next week before heading to PSU.....oh boy.
  6. Anything less than 20-11 here would be disappointing to me. I'll go with 22-9. That stretch from January 13th through 23rd feels like it will be pivotal.
  7. Yeah, I saw that too. I was only wondering if there would be any available through our ticket office before going to any after market sites. But that was also what my follow up question was about...what section will IU fans be concentrated in if I have to go the stubhub route? I had also emailed our ticket office and they've already responded saying they don't have any tickets available and to contact the WKU ticket office. So I'm not sure if IU got an allotment that is already sold out of if we didn't get an allotment at all.
  8. Speaking of sold out games, it appears the game at WKU is also sold out. I assume IU was allotted a portion of away tickets. Does anyone know if those are also already gone? I can't find anything on our site about where to buy tickets for any away games. Follow up question - if our our away allotment is gone, does anyone know what section the IU crowd is supposed to be concentrated in?
  9. That was embarrassing. we’ll see what the culture of this program really is. If it’s truly changed we’ll take this in the chin move on and come back way better. Cincy game is the season. If we lay an egg there my expectations go from high level bowl game to maybe no bowl at all.
  10. Id normally be of a similar mindset. This young man seems to be in a particularly unique scenario. I may be wrong but didn’t he go to high school in Kansas City up until this year? So he may not be as close to friends in Btown as a typical senior in high school. And he’s only heading across town, where he’ll be with his dad and one of his brothers, can live at home if he wants and at any time head back across town to do high school things, minus actually being a student. All while getting to know the coaches, future teammates, defensive schemes, and take advantage of a college strength program. I can see both sides on this one.
  11. Listening to his opening press conference, I thought this same thing, but also that his personality might go even farther with the parents, which could be even more important. On a similar note, the guy could have a serious side hustle recording ASMR videos.
  12. Didn't Bates say that one of the things he appreciated most about Woodson's pitch was that he told him specifically that nothing would be promised to him? That if he wanted playing time, it would have to be earned? No chance he turned around and guaranteed a kid in the next class that he'd start.
  13. Last game of the season against your biggest rival, likely with bowl placement on the line, who are you taking? The one guy in the backfield who used to play for the other side, or the 11 guys on the other side of the ball looking at a guy in the backfield they know bolted for their biggest rival and tried to undermine them by taking the playbook with him?
  14. Is a medical redshirt different rules? Didn't Bohanon at Iowa play like 10 games a couple seasons ago before deciding to have back surgery? I thought I remember there being talk of him having to decide after a certain game if he was going to keep playing or take the redshirt.
  15. Hah! Oh yeah, I gave the Rav4 everything she had. Unfortunately it was about 6pm, plenty of traffic, and I don't think I even hit 50mph. Even more remarkable to think about what 185 on the downside of that bridge would feel like.
  16. I drove back and forth across the bridge today. They still have all the barricades and stands set up. I've driven on that bridge countless times so I didn't think much of it until I was actually there. I kind of laughed b/c it was honestly way cooler than I thought it would be knowing that just a few days ago cars were driving up to 185mph on that same bridge. That's it. This is a very unremarkable post.
  17. Yeah I’ve said about 12 times that if it’s comes back I guarantee they change the course. It’s been rough.
  18. It's time the Big Ten make the move I never thought was beneficial to either party. Go get Notre Dame. They don't bring a new TV market but that's not nearly as important as it used to be. The brand ND would bring I think would now be beneficial to both the conference and to ND. Do it!
  19. If it ends up with 2 super conferences there is no way the ACC survives over the Big Ten. The Big Ten generates more revenue than any conference.
  20. It sounds like you actually are clear on what they'll get! :-)
  21. You think Ohio State would jump to the SEC? Why would they? They already dominate the conference they are in giving them a chance to compete for a national title every year. Something that wouldn't at all be a given if they moved to the SEC. They wouldn't get more revenue moving to the SEC. I just don't see anything positive for them to move.
  22. Yeah I tend to agree with the sentiment that we still have a lot to prove as a program. But it's hard to deny the momentum we have right now, and even if he thought last season was a bit a fluke in some way, we still have a ton of talent returning. What's interesting is what if he's right and we go 7-5 but actually WIN a mid tier bowl game? I'd make the argument that we haven't lost any momentum in that scenario.
  23. I made it as far as Maryland on this list. He has them winning 3 games and their ONE conference win being.....us?
  24. Unfortunately true. But if after the past 2 seasons, with all the momentum and excitement the football program has going, the fact that we’ll have a nationally ranked football team to cheer on, and a legitimate chance to have a season that is unheard of for this program…..if it remains half full this season then we deserve none of it.
