  1. If last night was any indication, we’ve travelled pretty well. Lots of Hoosiers out and about on Mass St. plenty of high fives to go around.
  2. I can’t say I wasn’t impressed with their guards. Krissa and Larsson were pretty damn good and that guy Bal off the bench hit everything he threw up. I don’t think JHS’ impact changes much.
  3. I’m not going to lie. I love this post. I’m not convinced JHS makes the impact you say, as the UNC game was his best game, and so far, a bit of an exception. I most certainly hope that becomes the norm when he’s back in the lineup, but not guaranteed that he has a UNC-like performance tonight if healthy. Whole heartedly agree with your disappointment with TJD. Didn’t seem assertive at all tonight and we are toast if we have a hesitant and passive TJD.
  4. It’s a great question. And honestly I don’t know the answer. Damn you for interrupting my pouting with logic. But the fact remains, even if there aren’t enough teams who have definitively proven they are a top 25 team ahead of us, we certainly haven’t definitively proven we are worthy of a top 25 spot either. FFS that sentence was too long.
  5. I’m not sure what evidence we have yet that we are a top 25 team. The rebounding tonight was mostly our bigs getting out muscled. JHS I’m sure makes an impact but it don’t think he impacts much of any of their offensive boards. I’d absolutely love to have a team that is showboating down the court while the opposing team’s star is dazed on the floor at the other end (this is NOT a shot at TJD, unlucky on his part but a microcosm or the game), and blowing kisses to the crowd (who is decidedly in favor over the other team) after draining another dagger three. Give me this all day.
  6. It sucked, yes. We didn’t lose by a possession or 2. We got worked. Every run we made they had a better one. We fought well at times and folded, absolutely folded in others. It wasn’t the missed goaltend, or the flop. It’s that we aren’t actually that great. And Arizona is. I really wish we were. But we aren’t.
  7. You have to be kidding me. Like have to to be absolutely kidding me. I’d love to grasp at straws like this but they just worked us. Offensive rebound after offensive rebound. Shooting clinic. We played a title contender and proved that we are not one.
  8. I would love to be a fan of a team like Arizona. Would be a ton of fun.
  9. We are an average team. A couple of timely big ten tourney wins last year made a lot of people think we are something we are not.
  10. Definitely felt like that was an Archie team on the floor. Not an ounce of toughness. If any of them listened to the Geo Baker sound bite and then followed up with that…..yikes. If we proved anything it’s that Geo’s statement wasn’t strong enough. Hopefully this team is different and can move on quickly.
  11. Proving Geo Baker right. So soft. No reason at all to worry about playing Indiana. Hopefully this was a wake up call but it’s sad that we needed it. TBD if it actually is a wake up call.
  12. Finally sold the last remaining tickets of our KU mini package. We came out ahead by $6.50/person. That’s with 2 of the exhibition game tickets going unsold. We are going to the Phog for free and even getting our first beer out of it. Now I’m just mad I didn’t buy 2 more mini plans. Would have paid for the trip entirely.
  13. Ah, well, how about that. What do I know, I’m a formula 1 guy so legally I’m required to turn my nose up at other Motorsport, so I do.
  14. Cmon man we wouldn’t seriously be looking at a NASCAR driver to coach our football team!! He’s an Indycar driver!!
  15. I don't appreciate you pointing out that my admittedly unscientific study contains a complete lack of scientific data.
  16. This is interesting. A 100% unscientific, off the cuff, without any evidence case study in NIL for IU. According to IU's website there are 760K graduates of IU. To use conservative numbers, let's just start with the 415K that are grads of IU-Bloomington. Let's assume 20% of that number actually care about football, so 83,000. Of that, maybe 2/3rds of people recognize NIL is a legitimate and necessary thing and are willing to contribute some amount of money to help the IU football program. So now we're down to ~50,000. This doesn't consider grads of other campuses and other fans that aren't alums. If we set a realistic goal for IU football to be a middle of the pack Big Ten program, let's assume our NIL contribution totals will be in line with that, so also middle of the pack. So maybe $5M toward collectives to pay players? That would mean an average donation of $100 across those 50,000 alums to get there. Considering 1 person was willing to contribute $1M, that average donation for the rest is down to $80. Is it doable?
  17. Luckily Nashville -> KC is a cheap flight on Southwest, and the price has gone down twice during sales since we booked. We got a pretty cheap rental car and some reasonable hotel rooms right off their main drag. I'm actually 100% confident this trip to Lawrence will be cheaper than our weekend in Bloomington next year that won't require a flight and rental car.
  18. Got ours as well. Big relief. We still have 4 total tickets from the mini plan up for sale but if we sell none of them we're all still in the door at about $35/each for the IU game. Equivalent tickets on stubhub for that game are listed at $333 all in with fees. I think we made the right decision :-). Hell I wish I would have bought the max amount of tickets and sold what we didn't need now.
  19. I'm still doing my best to manage expectations. But right here is where it's really hard to do so. Any season of the past decade (or longer?) if we'd have been looking forward to a starting lineup of Trey, Scoop, JG, MR, and LD, we'd rightfully be analyzing something like this: we've got two 5-stars (I know Scoop was borderline, but still), a scrappy, high energy upperclassman who will make a great floor leader in Trey, another upperclassman destined for a breakout season in JG, and guy who put in the time in the weight room and sounds like he's being more assertive in practice in LD. We'd be talking about our chances to make the tournament and all that. Fair. Yet that's projected to be our 2nd team. Ok, back to aggressively suppressing expectations.
  20. I'm not worried about Thanksgiving day, just the Wednesday before. We'll head back out first thing in the morning (making sure our tank is full the day before). Sounds like we won't have much of an issue finding a place to take our money on Wednesday.
  21. Probably not worth it's own topic but I couldn't find an appropriate thread it fit in either. Thinking of making the trip up on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving for the Little Rock game. Curious from folks around Bloomington what we should expect that day as far as places being open? I'm sure it's going to be pretty dead overall, but do places stay open that day? If we can find places open during the day but closed after the game, we might still do it. If our options will be extremely limited during the day before the game as well, we might pass.
  22. This program continues to lead the world in gloating after making a play while losing.
  23. Yes, I believe he had surgery to fix that thing.
