I was telling my wife today just how big this game is. She’s an IU grad herself but doesn’t care about hoops. I rambled on for a while while she looked surprisingly interested and just when I thought she was gonna say she’d watch the game with me she hit me with a, “well I’ll be fine with the kids tomorrow if you want to get a ticket and go up there.” The deer in headlights expression I must have returned was one of a kind. Alas…the cheapest single ticket is $400+. So I’m hittin the sauce pretty hard hoping that starts to make sense. Wish me luck.

Wisky became a Q3 win today. Looking like they’ll bounce back into Q2 territory while taking away a Q1 win of ours. Could stand for both of these teams to finish strong down the stretch.

I took Tennessee, I took Marquette, I took Oklahoma, I took the over on Creighton/Gtown. Growth is seeing a slate of lines you think have a bunch of gimmes and THEN not betting b/c a gimme is absolutely under no circumstances ever a gimme.

Of our remaining 9 games, currently 6 are Q1 and 3 are Q2. Winning 5 would mean we'd at least get 2 more Q1 wins. A BTT win could also be Q1 game. Even before the BTT we'd be 20-11, 11-9 in conference, 5-10 in Q1, 6-1 in Q2, so an overall .500 Q1/Q2 of 11-11. That would not be sweating at all on Selection Sunday. The tournament is eminently achievable. A really solid seed in the tournament remains well within sight. Here's hoping OSU remains a Q1 game and Wisky remains a Q2 game, both of which are teetering on the edge.

A moderately okay, still not very good, only sort of showed up JHS tonight and we are leading. Good news is we’ve gotten very terrible JHS and are only down 6. Flip the switch dammit.

Most egregious part of that half was realizing how many people don’t rely on streaming in 2023.

Thank you for this b/c the next time my wife looks at me sideways and says “you’re not doing anything stupid are you?” when I’m intently watching a random and meaningless Tuesday night game on my phone with some team called Queens NC I now get to tell her some guy on the boards puts $900 in bets out on Saturdays and I can provide hard proof I’m nowhere near that league! :-)
