  1. Got ours as well. Big relief. We still have 4 total tickets from the mini plan up for sale but if we sell none of them we're all still in the door at about $35/each for the IU game. Equivalent tickets on stubhub for that game are listed at $333 all in with fees. I think we made the right decision :-). Hell I wish I would have bought the max amount of tickets and sold what we didn't need now.
  2. I'm still doing my best to manage expectations. But right here is where it's really hard to do so. Any season of the past decade (or longer?) if we'd have been looking forward to a starting lineup of Trey, Scoop, JG, MR, and LD, we'd rightfully be analyzing something like this: we've got two 5-stars (I know Scoop was borderline, but still), a scrappy, high energy upperclassman who will make a great floor leader in Trey, another upperclassman destined for a breakout season in JG, and guy who put in the time in the weight room and sounds like he's being more assertive in practice in LD. We'd be talking about our chances to make the tournament and all that. Fair. Yet that's projected to be our 2nd team. Ok, back to aggressively suppressing expectations.
  3. I'm not worried about Thanksgiving day, just the Wednesday before. We'll head back out first thing in the morning (making sure our tank is full the day before). Sounds like we won't have much of an issue finding a place to take our money on Wednesday.
  4. Probably not worth it's own topic but I couldn't find an appropriate thread it fit in either. Thinking of making the trip up on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving for the Little Rock game. Curious from folks around Bloomington what we should expect that day as far as places being open? I'm sure it's going to be pretty dead overall, but do places stay open that day? If we can find places open during the day but closed after the game, we might still do it. If our options will be extremely limited during the day before the game as well, we might pass.
  5. This program continues to lead the world in gloating after making a play while losing.
  6. Yes, I believe he had surgery to fix that thing.
  7. Trust the process. Also, bleh…I hate it.
  8. Yeah that's going to be a stressful transfer. I'm also luckily not the one managing the StubHub sales but I made sure to tell my buddy to specify the 48 hours before game time thing so the buyers know to have that expectation. Still feels a bit like we'll just have to see how it goes as far as these Stubhub sales actually happening.
  9. Same with us. I wasn't the one who bought the tickets, but my buddy had a freak out moment when he saw nothing in his order history. He called the ticket office and they confirmed they had his order. Not sure what's going on with it not showing in the actual order history. I expect they'll be taking plenty of calls/emails about that as the game gets closer.
  10. Maybe this means the marquee mini-series game next season will be the Kansas game since I assume the fall semester will end on 12/15 (KU game being on 12/16).
  11. We did a bit of deductive reasoning on this yesterday. There is a pretty loaded slate of games that day. Besides IU/KU, there is the CBS Sports classic of UK/UCLA and UNC/OSU. Houston plays at Virginia. Tennessee plays at Arizona. Plenty of other not as marquee games like St. Johns/FSU, some Big East conference matchups, and plenty of other power 5 non-conference matchups. The CBS sports classic games are slated for 2pm and 4:15pm EST. I would think our game will be carried by ESPN. I would also think ESPN will consider IU/KU their feature game of the day, and not want it to compete with the games on CBS. If that's the case, it leaves either an early tip at noon EST or a primetime tip. Even if ESPN carries UT @ Arizona, that could easily be a later tip off being on PST. So, my conclusion is we'll tip off sometime around 7 or 8pm EST. In which case it will probably be at noon.
  12. If you want to feel even better about this, it appears single game tix went on sale for all KU non-conference games today. The section we're in, even in the corner, is $228/ticket before fees, it appears. We aren't in for free yet, but we're currently standing at $42 each with 5 total tickets left to sell from the package.
  13. Double win last night since I got in on Illinois +5 when the line was first released. No better kind of win.
  14. I do believe we'd travel well here. But it seems like the Music City Bowl is determined to have either UK or UT in this bowl every year, which would be 2 fanbases that are impossible to outnumber here. Regardless, I don't care who we play if it's here.
  15. I really feel like we need this one if we're going to keep my our hopes alive for my our ultimate goal, the Music City Bowl.
  16. My understanding is they’ll be mobile delivery 48 hours before the event. A friend of mine is the one managing selling on StubHub so he made sure to specify that in the listings there as well.
  17. Amazing. Our Southern Utah tix sold over the weekend. I don’t recall the exact amount but we are down to something like $40/person to go to this game so far and we still have 2 Harvard tix and all of whatever that 3rd game is still to sell. Very good chance we will also get paid to go.
  18. Lol…someone just scooped up ONE of our tickets to the Harvard game for $132. So maybe the market is there!!
  19. Yeah we gave staying in KC a thought but we are opting for the full on college town experience and staying in Lawrence. Found 2 rooms at decent hotel right off Mass St for a reasonable price which was pretty surprising. One kind of annoying thing is just how simple this has been because I can nearly guarantee the return visit to Bloomington will not be near as easy to book decently priced things. At least we’ll be able to drive.
  20. Same. I’ll be shocked if that price holds. I’ll honestly be happy if we get $15-$20/ game back. Considering what we thought we’d have to pay for the IU game, it’d be an absolute steal. The most amazing part is I threw this idea out to some friends thinking it would be a struggle to get commitment and here it is August 2nd (maybe? I’m on vacation this week so who cares) and we’ve got tickets, flights, lodging and a Friday night resy at 715 booked. Unreal.
  21. If anyone is hesitant about the 4 game package KU put on sale, the exact section and row we got for one game (Harvard) is on stub hub for $186/ticket. So $11 more than we paid for the whole package. I think that’s probably people trying to get lucky and they’ll never sell at that price. But if there is actually a market for the 3 other games anything like this, we will get paid to go to the IU game at the Phog. It would be very cool to see plenty of red in the building that night!
  22. Also the Kansas ticket office put a 4 game package on sale today that includes the IU game. The cost per person for the package comes out to around $175. I think you have to be a subscriber (no cost) of some sort but not sure. Info should be on their ticket office twitter page. They aren’t the greatest seats but we figured a good to great seat on the secondary market will be much more than $175 so we jumped on this. We’ll just try to sell the other 3 games for cheap. Tagging @Hovadipo b/c he’s the only one I can remember off the top of my head who mentioned making the trip. 23. Well what you quoted was not my comment, so I'm not sure how it's attributed to me. But I most definitely have very tempered expectations of this coming season. I agree that "shock the college bball world to it's core" is strong to quite strong. But given the state of both program...KU being defending champs, virtually never losing at home, and IU being the one program that people love to debate whether we belong as a blueblood or not....it win would be one hell of a statement across the college hoops world. KU will most definitely be much better than the 8-18 team you witnessed IU beat.
