  1. Feel bad they had to play UConn this round. But an elite 8 followed up by a sweet 16 is really solid for this program. Hopefully they’ve laid the groundwork to really build something.
  2. Berger seems really hesitant and happy to give up the ball. This one might be over…
  3. There is just absolutely no way at all there is evidence to overturn this
  4. I did as well but funny enough I very nearly also took over 138.5 with about 4 minutes left. Would have been hilarious to get both only b/c of those free throws.
  5. Oh yes, I was layering on the innuendo.
  6. Cock$ D has made things hard for PU. Didn’t know if they could get up for this one. Williams really stimulated the offense and they’re starting to perform under pressure. Can they get penetration and finish? Fact remains though, Edey is sooo soft.
  7. If that's all there was to it, sure. But that doesn't seem to be the case at all. So what's a worse look? Firing him with plenty of cause after one year or letting him stay and continue to be a cancer in the program? Far worse to let him stick around. You can actually make a good argument that it's a good look for the program to move on.
  8. I get what you're saying and I'm not directing this at you specifically, but.... Daily/weekly/monthly/whatever reminder to anyone who needs to hear it that Indiana basketball is, indeed, a big program. It's also worth noting that we weren't that far off from the kind of winning he might be hoping for. Unless he's determined to try to latch on to a national title contender, which will not be guaranteed wherever he were to land. And he could be a very key piece to this (big) program winning next season, at a place he's already familiar with where he knows his teammates and the system already.
  9. Can you imagine a Purdue vs. Houston National Championship game? I'm just here to ruin everyone's Friday. Apologies.
  10. This isn't a coach who is still employed that we are on here screaming from the rooftops to fire b/c we aren't happy with his coaching after one year. But, let's play this out. If this statement is true, we need to be even louder. I'll start... Any prospective Asst. coach interested in this job. If you plan on openly trashing NIL (or even simply just not embracing it), swinging and missing in recruiting including not returning calls, offering kids you're told not to, continually undermining the head coach, spewing your political beliefs (however you lean) to players, suggesting you're the coach in waiting, however subtle or not, don't care whether you're an alum or not, THIS JOB IS NOT APPEALING. DON'T COME HERE. PLEASE EXPLORE OTHER OPPORTUNITIES BECAUSE WE SPECIFICALLY DO NOT WANT YOU AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY.
  11. Just listened to some of his music for the first time. The young man definitely has some promise. Could probably use some polish but that's to be expected. He’s light years better that some very successful “rappers” out right now. Get connected with the right folks and who knows.
  12. That’s kind of the exact point I was trying to make in an earlier post. I’m sure a ton of coaches were and are still against it. It’s not kind of funny that the smart ones changes their tune. It was exactly that…smart. If you hate it, figure out a way to live with it, embrace it, lie about it, shut up about it, whatever. Just don’t be the disconnected behind the times guy openly trashing it and make your program also look disconnected and behind the times like Fife did.
  13. Ya know the openly bashing NIL stuff alone is actually a fireable offense in my opinion. You don't have to like it, but to not have enough awareness to just shut up about it is just insane on his part. A complete lack of perspective and quite frankly out of touch. Recruiting is hard enough with so many other programs trying to pull in the top talent. With NIL, your choices these days are to figure out a way to embrace it or if you don't, just shut up about it. I liken it to, say, tech companies these days. The best talent is in incredibly high demand. Any progressive thinking company is going to unlimited PTO, fully paid parental leave, etc. If you're not embracing those policies, you're behind. If you're openly bashing those policies, well, I won't say what I want to say, but good luck to ya.
  14. It continues to amaze me how many people come to free message boards to message board message boarders that message boarding is ridiculous.
  15. Hey look, I get it and I'm right there with you. These "BTB High level contributor" monthly checks you guys have been cutting me has been a nice little side hustle. But if we're going to just let it be and move right on, the internet has to go, and BTB has to go with it.
  16. Totally. But first, we'll need to do a few things. We'll need to get rid of reporters. Actually, getting rid of social media entirely would be even better. Probably want to go ahead delete all message boards including this one. It would be best to eliminate the internet entirely and rewind maybe 30 years or so. And most importantly, we'll need the situation to be as simple as "Dane Fife left", which simply isn't the case. Sorry for the extra layers of sarcasm here.
  17. I knew what you meant, but I have a terribly unshakeable tendency to be the jack@$$ that calls stuff like that out....always in a joking way of course.
  18. Problem is, being a confident 3pt shooter next offseason doesn't help us much during the season. Let's hope he bumps his confidence timeline up to, say, November-ish. :-)
  19. Count me as someone who thinks Race has the ability to do both of these and could actually be the ideal 4 or 5 in Woody's system. Keep in mind Race shot about 42% from 3 in the final 3rd of the season. He was our best 3 point shooter percentage-wise during that stretch. Not high volume, but it's also not cherry-picking his best shooting games. It was a sustained stretch of games where he significantly improved his outside shooting. It's not certain, but what could another summer with this staff fully in place where he's working on his shot (knowing the staff has confidence in him shooting from distance, something I'm not sure the previous staff did at all) and working on creating off the dribble do for him? A JG/Race combo at the 4/5 could be very hard to guard.
  20. Eeehhhh yeah, that whole thing again. Death, taxes, and the big ten being overrated yet blaming it on officiating during the season.
  21. I can’t decide…is the Big Ten overrated again or is this what was expected? I say kind of both. Definitely overrated but I also expected a solid first round and then a big flame out.
  22. As much as it stings to see Michigan advance to the sweet 16, I will always thoroughly enjoy UT flaming out like that as long as they fraudulently wear those warm up pants.
  23. I fear my exchange above will be taken as me making the excuse that we were fatigued. I’ll reiterate a comment in my first post that probably got lost….fatigue isn’t what lost that game. Maybe it played a part in our performance but we got boat-raced and outclassed everywhere. I was only arguing that comparing ND’s situation and ours is just ridiculous.
  24. As well, we both wore our away jerseys. We both won our play in games. No players wore a cowboy hat during the games. I have now added some additional facts. Some completely irrelevant facts. ND's 3 games in 9 days included 5 full days off in between the 1st and 2nd game. If you actually think that ND's 3 games in 9 days is comparable to our 5 games in 8 days, then I've got beach front property in Idaho to sell ya. And maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying on the whole traveling farther after their play in game but are you actually suggesting that traveling from Dayton to San Diego is in some way noticeably different than traveling from Dayton to Portland?
  25. The fact that you went through this just shows how much this argument is actually grasping for straws trying to make these situations comparable. Ok, there were 2 days in between games for us, 5 days in between games for ND. If you break it down to hours, 3 days for us, 6 days for them. It's the same thing. But the point is the fatigue wouldn't be just from just the Dayton traveling situation, but from playing 5 games in 8 days, plus the Dayton travel situation. ND didn't have to do anything close to that. They only had to deal with Dayton travel stuff.
