(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
HoosierAloha replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think Crean has a great relationship with Langford. Wasn't Romeo the one texting Crean after a big win? I don't think his recruitment is going to come down to who is working hardest right now. There's still plenty of time and things to workout before he commits somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Marvin Menzies hired at UNLV. How far down their coaching wish list was Menzies? http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/15216959/unlv-rebels-agree-hire-marvin-menzies-new-head-coach Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2016) SG Grant Gelon commits to IU

So we're not allowed to have differing opinions on players/recruits? That would make this place a lot of fun..... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Agree, teams will really have to decide what they want to take away though. Having TB or DD on the floor with the second unit is going to keep defenses honest allowing players like CuJo to do their thing on offense. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2016) PG Devonte Green to INDIANA
HoosierAloha replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I know it's an all star game but nice to see home do a little bit of everything. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Having CuJo come off the bench and be that spark next season will be nice. This past season we really didn't have that from the guard spot. Just imagining having JBJ and CuJo get buckets while RoJo distributes more but becomes a knockdown shooter and JN getting everyone involved has me giddy for next season. We should have a better overall backcourt although Yogi will be difficult to replace. Over/under 10.5 ppg for CuJo as a frosh? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Spring Game Thread - 4/15 at 1830 EST on BTN2go
HoosierAloha replied to RBB89's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Really like that they're involving fans more and having the game before the Little 5 concert to boost attendance. I attended every football game I could and had a blast. There is nothing quite like walking down 17th street pregaming and seeing kids passed out in the grass or stumbling back to their frat/sorority house. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
(2016) SG Grant Gelon commits to IU
HoosierAloha replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
When did he become a lights out shooter? For every 5/7 game from deep there were 2-3 games he went 1/6. I'm not expecting Grant to contribute much as an underclassman but if he could become a knockdown shooter as a junior and play adequate defense while keeping players heads on straight off the court he could fill a much needed role. I guess we can only wait and see. I do hope he is at IU for four years though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Declaring early for the draft
HoosierAloha replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can't fault him if he's completed a degree and wants to try I guess. If the NBA doesn't work out he could play overseas for awhile on a pretty good contract. Who does Maryland have coming in? They're losing quite a bit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Declaring early for the draft
HoosierAloha replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wait, what?! He's good with maybe, possibly, unlikely going in the second round or undrafted? They might be lucky to finish in the 5-7 range and if Melo goes might fall further than that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Janks declared for the draft and I believe he hired an agent. Sucks that Hawaii is losing a bunch of good to great players. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Unless Cekovsky develops over the summer Maryland could really struggle to score in the post. Dodd is a decent defender but doesn't really score that well in the post. Carter would rather take jumpers than post someone up. They could take a significant step back with Stone, Salmon, and Lehman all gone. If Melo leaves they could potentially drop to bottom half of the B1G. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

JMor has that look of "coach I see your lips moving but I have no idea what you're saying." He looks out of it. Best of luck on your recovery and get healthy JMor! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
HoosierAloha replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's really difficult to gauge though. He might be deciding with his family if they're okay going to Europe if he goes I drafted. There's so much stuff he could be trying to sift through. I'm not sold he will return. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
HoosierAloha replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That's the most frustrating thing with Troy among many frustrating things. He would have halves or whole games where he would finish everything around the rim and/or get fouled. His shoulders would be squared to the goal and his "flips" would fall. The next game his shoulders would be pointing to the sideline or damn near half court while he was tossing the ball towards the rim. Actually I would rank bad Troy's issues as follows: - Concentration - Consistency - Finishing at the rim - Turnovers - Court vision - Shooting This is not to pile on Troy. If people didn't see the obvious talent potential Troy possesses we would never have these conversations. If he addressed the first two issues above the other four would be solved. He has the athletic ability and talent to be a solid NBA pro but I'm not sure he has the mental ability to take advantage of it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?

4 wings/bigs in the starting lineup? I just don't see it. G - RoJo/Newkirk/Green G - JBJ/CuJo W - Troy/OG/Gelon W - Hartman/JMor/Priller B - TB/DD We could go 10 deep with solid 1-2 from each position. The versatility of these players could make for some interesting lineups. If DD proves himself to be a capable shooter it would be fun to see a RoJo, Troy, OG, DD, and TB. You could invert that lineup against a bigger team like a pu or Wiscy and cause trouble with guards back cutting and rebounding while your bugs are capable of hitting shots from deep. I believe Crean said earlier in the year that he maintains contact with NBA scouts and updates players throughout the year. I don't think Troy is all of a sudden receiving new unexpected feedback. He might be feeling out if he would be one of the 60ish invitees to the combine though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
