  1. As is your faith in UNC? ;)
  2. Seems to me like the quarterback battle for the beginning of next season will be between Ramsey and Tronti, with Penix either a red-shirt or laying in wait if no one cements he job.
  3. Freddie McSwain has turned into an equally-muscly, short, academically less successful, un-funny Tijan Jobe.
  4. Yessirreeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's always good to have a big-time quarterback, and in this case a big Penix.
  5. How do you know that Jager, Smith, and Moore are working hard in practice? Not saying they aren't; just saying that if a message is sent, it better not be one that rewards players who aren't on the court because their effort is lacking.
  6. I expect Hartman and one other new starter, and Josh and either DeRon or Al to not start.
  7. I'm fairly certain that RoJo will continue to start. There aren't other options.
  8. Damezi Anderson Jr. Retweeted Milton H. Williams@Fivelefts @AndersonDamezi @j_hunter35 @robphinisee1 @begreatjake #IU is in #desperateNeed for a #Mentality change! Never! Be #Satisfied! On the collegiate level.. Don’t #Ever! Let someone #Dominate you, on your home floor! You guys will #Represent a new era! Be #Ready to #Fight! Everyday! 8h
  9. And, you can say that his brother making $20 million+ isn't relevant...but you can bet it has been relevant to Zach's ability to come to IU as a walk-on when he could have gotten a free ride to many D1 schools. It has meant that his parents can afford to pay tuition, room, and board for a their kid to go to his dream school. Most families cannot even consider that option when a free college education is available in many other places. If it has been relevant to the McRoberts family and quite certainly has been part of the equation for the IU staff...then it is relevant.
  10. I guess the answer is: We very well may not choose to add two more players for next year in addition to the five new ones who will be taking the floor. But, by leaving the schollies open until next season begins, we leave all options open. If next season begins with an open ride or two then and only then give it to Zach as an acknowledgement of his hard work and contributions. But only then.
  11. If by "next year", you mean for January - April 2018, then yes! In August, we can then decide if we have an open ride for the 2018-2019 season for him. It's the right thing to do - he's earned it, but remember... Zach's older brother already has well over $20 million in NBA career earnings, so floating him an in-state tuition scholly is much more symbolic than necessary.
  12. Vandy looking REALLY good at ASU - up 15 on a top ten tea... Check that; what I meant to say is that Vandy has done an admirable job staying within one at halftime in the road at Arizona Sta... wait...whu?...What I REALLY meant to say is that Vandy is down 15 early in the second half. Bryce Drew? Not good at coaching basketball. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. Different ref; the lead ref on one end of the court turns into the trail ref at the other end. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. If you've got a "Hunter Johnson is interested in transferring to IU" rumor, I demand ;) that you spill it immediately! Please!! Pleeeeeeeease!!

  16. You think THAT's good? Wait til they find out that Rob Phinisee is now up to 7'2"!
  17. Worth noting that they are not including top 100 recruit Race Thompson, because even though he's taking a red-shirt and has four years left, he's technically a 2017. Imagine that including Race would already put us around the top 15.
  18. He already committed to Kentucky? WOW; they just offered him and he committed the same day. That’s crazy! Oh well; on to the next one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. Okay...I can't stands it no more! Iugradman...your healing is only 1:47 away...you will feel less "put-upon" when you watch this:

  21. Those examples of immediate success are 1) anecdotal, and 2) completely eliminate context: Mike White had a fully stocked cupboard in year one. I believe he's a very good coach and he has performed very well, but replacing high-level kids who were coached by Billy Donavan is VERY different than what Archie inherited, no? True, and Sampson (who, by all accounts is a pretty good in-game coach) did so by bringing in such luminaries as Ellis, Basset, DeAndre, etc, etc. And you cite as some badge of achievement that Sampson had us in the top ten in year two. Well, so did Crean last year! AND, just like Crean last year (though for different reasons) that Sampson team completely fell apart. And that was BEFORE the news came out that the best Sampson team was chock full of drug users and 'D' students.
  22. Guards? Maybe. Ballhandlers? Not so much.
