  1. I kinda agree, but with this team Archie is kinda screwed. We have five guards on the roster, and only two of them are contributing in a positive way. Three of 'em really kinda suck.
  2. Lol... Give him more minutes?!? I get the point, but he's coming off a hammy and he just got 30 minutes against Howard. Another way of saying it? Archie is gonna keep maxing him out.
  3. The big payoff is when you find kids with the toughness and mentality it takes to win who also have extraordinary ability and skill sets.
  4. I just listened to Don Fischer interviewed by Dakich on the ride in this morning. I without hesitation trust Fisch's opinion, and in this case, his opinions were striking. Fisch cited two kids on the current IU roster who play with the focus and mental toughness that is required by Coach Archie Miller: Al Durham, and Justin Smith. That's right, only two. That's generally what I see also. The best part? I got the distinct feeling from Fisch that Archie will not stand for players that are not up to his standards, and that a player who is deemed to be 'soft' by Archie Miller is in for an unhappy existence. https://omny.fm/shows/the-dan-dakich-show/hey-don-fischer-as-a-former-player-im-not-happy-wi
  5. Drew; I am a big fan of your posting and you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but if there's one thing to learn with absolute certainty from the first few games of the Archie Miller era, it is that the kids who exhibit metal toughness and focus will play, and play a lot. See: Durham, Al. (versus Curtis Jones and DeVonte Green). That, and that Archie Miller recruits with a huge focus on kids that he thinks will be able to exhibit that toughness. Archie thinks that Rob Phinisee is an Archie Miller player. If RP shows that focus and toughness, he will play. Immediately. A lot.

  9. Well so did I! (so it's hard to begrudge Meyer for doing the same ;)
  10. Soooo...I'm thinking Vandy!
  11. Then you should stand and pace! :) No thanks necessary; here to help.
  12. LOL...No!! But, like Victor, there was a game very early in the IU arc against a crappy early season team when each showed just how valuable they would be going forward.
  13. dbmhoosier is reading other IU message board "insiders" whom are saying without specifics that Garland will commit to Vandy. Maybe they're right, but as you might be able to sumrise, dbmhoosier doesn't independently know diddly squat.

  16. Howard is not good, but they’re not as bad as some of you may think. We are playing like a desperate team; tight but intense. Tonight I am encouraged. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. Crean’s offense was good. Crean never instilled defense and toughness. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  19. You need to be de-Creaned for that post! Defense wins games. Defense and toughness. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. Am I the only one who sees RoJo playing very very well on defense?!? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. Oh. My. Gawd Dalton! CuJo is HORRIBLE! Soft soft soft as a marshmallow kitten made out of cotton balls and Kleenex. RoJo has had bad moments, but he is defending and absolutely busting his @$$ out there. PS: still love ya Dalton; it’s CuJo that I can’t stand to watch [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Smith is playing well, but not confident enough to play with real toughness. He’ll get a lot better than this. Also remember: no Morgan, no Hartman Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. RoJO is really playing hard. Tougher than I’ve seen him in a long time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
