For me the question is not about the problem; that’s readily apparent. It’s about identifying a workable solution.

Sisley transferring -not so much. So let's hope that the Sisley is staying rumors are true.
-
Sisley? Not so much.

Coaches want to win. That could absolutely be what a coach said to that particular player, but does not necessarily attach to all coaches or even to teammates of that particular player.
-
Not that you suggested it is at all likely, but let me say the quiet part out loud: The chances of Sisley Dorn Drake Miles, and Harris as our starting five next year are pretty much zero. As in .000001% likely. The chances of more than two or three of Dorn Drake Miles Harris Acimovich, and Ristic being on next year's roster are apparently pretty small too.

(2026 IUWBB) - (PG/SG) Ashlinn James to INDIANA

Agree—Caffey is a long term solution at the point. As for bigs, I believe that Noyan is also returning. And while she’s not an impact big, she improved a ton over the season and would be a valuable asset for a team that didn’t need to start her. -
There are innumerable examples of successes and failures. Evaluation, evaluation, evaluation. I'm pretty convinced that CDD can coach em up; now we need excellent evaluation that incorporates Rod Clark and lessons learned.

Now you are directly contradicting the reasons that Curt Cignetti cited when he insisted that his new IU contract require that Dolson and Whitten remain in place. Cig said it is a necessity because their leadership and support enabled his success, whereas you are inferring that they merely rode Cig’s coattails. As you stated, “This is how elites work.” Our elite head football coach is requiring his elite Athletic Director remain as a documented employment condition.
-
Not just "Scott kept him at IU." More like, Cig specifically inserted a clause in his new contract that all bets are off if Scott Dolson or Pam Whitten are no longer at IU.

Failure to Affix a Tax Stamp? That bastard.

All Star team over the last the last 10 seasons?

TJD Juwan Lamar Ware JHS That's rough, especially considering that the ten years preceding that would be: Yogi Cody Vic Eric G DJ In other words, Trayce is the only player in the past ten years that was up to the standard of the best from the previous ten years. -
2026-27 Roster/Portal/how to fix the roster?
Stuhoo replied to Asha’man's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
No coach has any issue with 'tampering'. Hell, I'm not even sure if tampering is formally defined or actually restricted within the rules. And if a player representative proactively reaches out to a program, the program will not hang up the phone. -

I've been telling y'all - there's a tangible reason that Sisley got pretty much zero run during our end of season losing streak. With unrestricted free agency, someone give me a good reason why an Indiana kid that's being recruited by Dusty May wouldn't be very, very interested. Occam's Razor; the most likely explanation is usually the correct one. And in this instance Occam would conclude that he's never getting game time because his family has already expressed that IU is not his future, and that Michigan would be a more attractive program than IU. -

Hey guys ... wonderful discussion but, it is mirroring the discussion on multiple different threads. In an effort to keep threads organized and on topic, please limit posts in this thread to 'Transfer Portal with IU Interest' players. Thanks -

Barrel Rick retires at 61? 61 of what?

Tyrique is 100% an all time Hoosier legend. We get a third year of the happiest sack dances in the nation? Yessir.

Meatchicken with a tasty game winner.

Some coaches are very equipped to win at a mid-major level, but not equipped to win at a high major level.

Pretty pessimistic on Florida, Vandy, and Ole Miss

UCLA, loses their best big, Bilodeau, just before playing Purdump.

We need playable depth for sure. Women’s team has 15 scholarships, so we also have plenty of room for some benchwarmers. -

With Zania and Noyan back, she’s a developmental luxury. Hopefully she’s talented enough to be worth the wait. -
Things I won't miss about this season.

My friends. Amidst all of this gloom and doom, I feel the need to off topic-ally remind Hoosier Nation that in just 178 days, the extraordinarily lovable Tyrique Tucker will be sacking and dancing for the glory of Old IU:
