  1. Highlight of the game so far? Tomorrow BTN announcer Jon Crispin becomes the proud parent of a bouncing baby unstressed schnauzer.
  2. Wow. St Johns must really suck.
  3. Thanks; me and Nips feel better now.
  4. Oh good lord no. Zander needs to hang around just to kick his ass.
  5. That almost made me laugh my after-work beer up through my nose.
  6. Ewww, a message board love-in! My wife will need to know ;) BTW, I've been critical of him, but I'm a fan of Josh Newkirk as a rotation player and as a very useful piece for a championship caliber team. I just don't see his decision making and point guard skills as that of a starting point guard on a championship caliber team. More like a Chris Reynolds athletic defensive specialist.
  7. Grab 'em by their spastic p....? ahh, never mind.
  8. No freakin' kidding. I know you guys up north think you've got it bad, but I'm a native Chicagoan, and no one put in the brochure that I'd still be sweating my nuts off in December down here! I'd kill for a 45 degree day right now.
  9. Considering he is a 25-year-old man who plays basketball for a living and is constantly hounded with questions about his 16-year-old little brother, the fact that he was polite is probably the biggest plus and the most information anyone was going to get.
  10. Wow; compared to the last few pages of this thread, that's a huge happy-sunshine-rainbow!
  11. I take it for "about to announce for IU."
  12. As irrelevant as this game is to anything and everything, a little fact for consideration: Delaware State has played 12 games so far this season. They have three wins: against Division III Summit College, against Division III Keystone State, and against the once proud, now truly and completely pitiful... St. Johns. A poster on the Johnnies board as Penn State was going on a 28-1 1st half run against them over the weekend: "I didn't think it could get worse than St Thomas Aquinas or Incarnate Word or Delaware State or LIU Brooklyn but this is...just...something else."
  13. Yup...as Hawkeroo would say:
  14. "Coach Calmness-Challenged"?
  15. I've seen enough to take a stab at it, though I'm not brave enough to guess game-by-game how we'll arrive at or Big Ten conference mark. Anyway, I'll go with: 12-6, tied for second with Purduedoo and Michigan (don't know why, I just think they've got enough veteran leadership to win a lot of close games). Two games behind conference champ Wisconsin. Whattya guys got?
  16. Agree. But hey, we're trying to win a championship, and while I like Josh N on the defensive end, I'm starting to get the distinct impression that he's a crappy distributor who, as a red-shirt junior, has limited room for improvement in that area. DGreen, on the other hand, has very good court vision, not just for a freshman, but for any guard. If he's gonna iron out the mistakes isn't right now, when our next three games are against Delaware State, Austin Peay, and Nebraska, the time to do it?
  17. All true, but if DeVonte's minutes are expanded, we're gonna have to be able to live with many more mistakes from DeVonte than we've been used to seeing in his limited minutes.
  18. Josh is a much better on ball defender, but his court vision kinda...sucks. DeVonte Green plays offense like a true point guard.
  19. WHOA. Nebraska's Tim Miles on a Twitter hiatus!?! That's when you know things are going downhill with Nebrasketball: Tim Miles ✔@CoachMiles 1/2 Bad day at the office. I believe in what we are doing & can't wait to show our fans progress! But until then, going on a twitter hiatus 11:17 PM - 18 Dec 2016
  20. I think that MSU with Miles Bridges is pretty good, but not all that good. Without him? No way, no way, no way. Not with Izzo, K, Auerbach, and Wooden all on the coaching staff.
  21. Any idea how that would compare to a freshman ranking?
  22. This! Butler tried to deny the perimeter, and that left it for Newkirk, who in the first half drove to the rim with ease, TO MAKE SOME MOTHER TRUCKING LAYUPS. In the second half, the same dynamic occurred, Newkirk played with confidence, the perimeter thereafter opened up, and we almost came back for the win.
  23. WHEW! Thank goodness they count. When Hova swears on Martha the Mop Lady he ain't playing!
