  1. Okay (and true). Without any conceivable question for on-court performance. Even better news: Going forward, great results with horrible temperament, or weird with weak results are not our only choices!
  2. And just maybe coming to introduce Pat Knight as the next men's basketball head coach for Indiana University?!? (I kid, I kid)
  3. Yes; he posted " -... .. .-.. .-.. -.-- / -.. --- -. --- ...- .- -. " That translates to Billy Donovan. Total of ten posts on that board for a poster that signed up two months ago. Pretty entertaining stuff!
  4. Hey guys; I found a link to some great photos of James Blackmon Jr.!! http://www.gettyimages.com/photos/indiana-bracey-wright?excludenudity=true&sort=mostpopular&mediatype=photography&phrase=indiana bracey wright
  5. So... last night the beast was FINALLY unleashed. Why has this mountain of a man's man not been getting more run? The raw numbers from last night's game: 48 points per 40 minutes 197.3 bone-crushing picks per 40 minutes No turnovers 8 concussion-causing, ball eliminating, soul destroying fouls on Caleb Swanigan per 40 minutes. MSB training video: Yes, MSB is here. Any coincidence that he has arrived on the same night that Kevin Durant went down? Look for Golden State to add him for their playoff run.
  6. BINGO. And THAT's why they are mighty worried about the IU job opening up on the Dayton board. Oh, and by the way... it's also a pretty good endorsement of a coach when a fan base is unanimously terrified that the coach might leave.
  7. Great post on a Dayton board about what it would take for Archie Miller to leave UD. The sane posters and relative insiders on that board are more than interested in the coaching situations at NC State, OSU, and IU, with many threads about Archie-interest. As a collective conclusion, they are convinced that NC State will not be Archie's landing spot. When will Archie leave UD? They say when: "I think there are probably 10-12 jobs in the country that are a certain "step up" from our Flyers. There's probably another 10 or so that are on-par with our Flyers. Beyond that, everything else is a step down. Archie will leave when the right opportunity comes along. What is "the right opportunity"? Only Archie knows for sure, but I believe it will include:- Facilities that are first-rate.- An institution (school) that supports him and works with him to promote the success of the program.- A fan base that (a) takes its basketball seriously, and (b) is steady in its support of the program. And, most importantly,- A chance to compete for championships not only at the conference level but at the national level as well.Anything less would be a step backward from where he is right now."Posted via Mobile Device
  8. For instance: A giraffe walks into a bar and says to the bartender..."The high-balls are on me!"
  9. LOL (A newborn can help to further cultivate one's sense of humor, eh?)
  10. And Fife alone has five years.
  11. No offense taken. I am not saying that Fife is necessarily the right choice, or in any way is the first choice. I am quite sure though, that he is not leaving his MSU Associate Head Coach job to be an assistant anywhere else. What I AM saying is that there are reasons he will likely get consideration if the IUBB job opens: Young IU Defensive POY in college Lead recruiter and Associate Head Coach at MSU Took over a first year in D1 small school and improved them every year til they were +.500 Mentored by two HOFers These elements are ONLY relevant if Fife has the "it" factor. I'm not sure if he does! FWIW, prior to their first hire at a big time job, here are the won/lost records of some pretty good coaches: Krzyzewski 73-59 Donovan 35-20 Roy Williams 0-0 Izzo 0-0 Boeheim 0-0 Stevens 0-0 (not that Butler was a "big-time" job before he took it, but it was pretty established and was Stevens's first go). Pitino 93-55 Dean Smith 0-0 Popovich 76-129 Once again, I am not comparing Fife to these guys; I'm just saying that if he is special, now is the time to move on him.
  12. Could be hired?
  13. Good one! Frank Martin Avery Johnson Cuonzo Martin Chris Mack Mick Cronin The new VCU guy Anyone last named Drew Not that these guys are bad coaches; just don't want em at IU. Edit: for me, Marshall also makes this list. I know he's a very, very good coach, but he's too old and has too much evil RMK in his personality.
  14. Are you kidding me!?! Rooting for IU to beat Purdoodoo is REQUIRED. The only difference from usual is that if we get stomped, there is a little bit of a silver lining!
  15. A little too old at almost 46, but borderline okay with me! ;)
  16. If not Donovan, I hope we go young; no older than an early-40's-ish guy. Archie, Fife, Collins. There are no guarantees, so if we find an excellent hire, I want it to be for a 25 year gig.
  17. And that Donovan is still in play.
  18. He's a head case; I looked at the last OSU box score and I don't even think he's in the starting lineup anymore.
  19. I'm sorry; other than criticizing every other poster's opinion, is there a point to what you're saying? Is the point you're making in the "Fire Tom Crean" thread that we shouldn't fire him? Okay... got it.
  20. I've been out of the loop for a few hours and it seems like I've missed a lot! I saw the Hickory Hoosier post but have not seen anything by magnanimous. Did his post get deleted or am I missing something?
  21. Hickory Hoosier does not troll, and doesn't post very often. Hickory Hoosier doesn't merely say "gone", he also says "very mutual." Guys... HE GONE. _______________________ ALSO: The board has neglected to consider a point that CTC brought up last night: with Meghan Crean graduating from IU, the Crean family will not have any of their kids at IU next fall if they make a break this year.
  22. Well... that's one of the only two choices, right?
  23. Damn straight he did. An Iowa forward, I think named Henderson put him in a head lock in the way to the floor. Last time that guy put anyone in a head lock. [emoji51]
