  3. Would love to see a Nick Zeisloft type added with one of those spots.
  4. That trade is just plain weird. Very similar players from very similar teams, though Petrie had better numbers.
  5. Sherrell 30 Samet 30 Sisley 15 Harris 26 Lindsay 26 Burton 32 Mustaf 26 15 mins left.... 5 mins at the 4/5, 10 mins at the 1-3. We have very little left to sell in terms of minutes, realistically speaking. And that's with knowing nothing about Moody, Karvala.
  6. I like this approach. The back-up PG & C don't need to win games, just need to not lose games. Competent is fine. For center I envision someone like Langdon Hatton from a couple yrs ago. Big body, not flashy, but affordable! For that 3rd spot I would LOVE to get a dynamic Wing scorer. Probably tapped out the budget already, but adding an above average SF would make this line-up pop. But if they are comfortable with the committee approach I would be fine with the 4/5 option you described instead.
  7. Guess it was a trade: Noyan for Petrie.
  8. We noticed in past years... these spots aren't filled with nearly as good of players as fans think they will be. Hatton is probably who we're getting as our last big. And we wouldn't get nearly as good of a player as Enright as that 12th/13th guy as a guard. I'm not seeing the minutes you're seeing for the 11th guy at the 4/5. I fully expect Sisley to play 12-18 mins per night.
  9. We don't have 4 spots available.
  10. Based off nothing but hoping for the best, I bet we sign the 12th and 13th roster spots before the 11th roster spot. Two cheap seniors. A big body Center that probably won't play much unless there's an injury. And a pure PG who does the same. And for the 11th spot... we go to Europe over the summer for a 4/5 that can play rotation minutes as the third big.
  11. Right. It would actually be worse than last season. MUCH worse. They did the best they could in the circumstances last year, this time they were apparently prepared and got several of their top targets. To intentionaly leave a roster as incomplete as this would be mind-bogglinlgy stupid. I don't think the staff is stupid.
  12. They still need at least 2 bigs that can be help if injuries or foul trouble happen. You don't want to go into the season with only 2 bigs + Sisley They also need a shooter and a ball handler if/when injuries happen.
  13. 12th and 13th roster spots are basically always break-the-glass-in-case-of-emergency practice players IMO. If those guys play in real games it usually means you're in some kind of trouble.
  14. so very thankful they've done so. Both programs have needed it. It feels like basketball's only chance. Its most schools only chance. I think the sport probably met its near max this offseason on what teams will pay. I don't see it jumping significantly from here. My gut told me Whitten and Dolson were going to do everything they could to set DeVries up. Last year didn't go the way I expected, so that was odd. But thankfully we are committed.
  15. Hysterics with Rabby said the budget for the roster this year was about $20M. I don’t know how much of that was spent, but I would assume once all is said and done, it will be most of it, like high-teens. That’s insane. IU is funding FB and MBB at levels I didn’t think were possible.
  16. When a rb is a fearless 220 lb cement block it's a whole lot easier to pass pro than when a rb is ... Jaylin Lucas.
  17. Today
  18. Hysterics said today it was high 4’s. And roster could near 20 in total although probably short of that.
  19. Agree with this. I like 8 or 9 man rotations. Hated when would woody would platoon or try to run 10. However, an open competition for those spots from 13 capable members will yield a better team than intentionally filling spots 11-13 with intentionally lesser talent. Try to find the Juco kid that might pop, or a Foriegn kind with attributes or something because you never know. Wagler from Illinois is a good example of ‘you never know’. Find players and fill the spots let practice figure out your best.
  20. pretty logical stuff when you look at the rest of the roster. I don't think he/anyone would need inside info to throw poop at a wall here and get that right.
  21. Rabjohns doubled down today on Hoosier Hysterics. Said the 11th spot is a backup big and spots 12 and 13 are practice players that they expect to be better than Walk ons. I guess we find out how locked in Rabjohns is.
  22. Watched a minute-long cutup the other day of what I thought was, without reading the caption, some of our explosive pass plays of the year. Hole shot vs. Iowa, Becker TD in the Rose Bowl, and a few others. It was a Kaelon Black pass pro cutup.
  23. Did some research on that rivalry one time. I think it was after visiting Lawrence and noticing that, while their eyes were on playing us, it was still pretty apparent that Mizzou was public enemy #1 there. That one goes a lotttt deeper than “our campuses aren’t too far apart, hate u lol!!!”
  24. I might've been baked through several long nights in Bloomington, but that's another story...
  25. Playing Sherrell at the 4 will come with some defensive issues against teams with stretch bigs. Plenty of tape on him in drop coverage and slow to shooters. Think Race Thompson trying to cover the perimeter…May see Sisley more in those games and AS more in the 5 role Offensive arsenal and rim protection though are upper level and much needed in the front court.
  26. Cole Cloer (NC State) transfers to Bama.
