  1. Past hour
  2. Watching some Bryce Lindsay highlights. It was probably a pretty easy sell to this kid once we showed him the Lamar Wilkerson tape. Bryce Lindsay vs Utah St
  3. Today
  4. Hmm not often you see duke blow an offer that badly. Because there’s no way Dakich is right about him
  5. The Scharnowski commitment to Duke came desipte Dakich chewing on D-Rock's ear about him. I'm sure DeVries appreciated the input ... LOL.
  6. Is Cook Hall open to the public anymore? I remember when Crean was here the public was allowed to come anytime it was open. If so, maybe someone can stop in and see if anyone is on a visit? lol
  7. Seems like quite a few commitments today.
  8. In they come -- Buffalo transfer Tim Oboh has committed to Penn State. The 6’11” sophomore center started all 32 games played, averaging 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. Out they go -- Penn State transfer Mason Blackwood has committed to St. Bonaventure. The 6’7” freshman forward appeared in 26 games, averaging 2.6 points, and 1.8 rebounds per game.
  9. 100%. And not second week because you finished 8th in the conference and eked into Dayton and then upset a couple of teams. 2nd week because you were solid all year and were a 4/5 kind of seed at least.
  10. Has anyone done more in Ladies college basketball than T. Moren and IU Ladies in providing a training program for Lady players that want to play basketball at the highest level for other programs (Garzon to Maryland)…. and lesser programs, mid majors and small programs. Is there an award for that? Mid majors and smaller programs are beneficiaries.
  11. Rabby and the Hysterics said we were going to be close to $20M. Maybe we end up high teens. All we can do is ballpark estimate. While I agree budgets went up, it sure looks like ours went up a lot more than most. Rev share is basically unchanged this year, so the difference is all NIL, an area we excel at. The national recruiting guys are talking about huge spend for IU and few other schools are getting that kind of talk. I'd say consensus is IU is around #5 in roster spend, maybe #5-8 to be safe. I'm trying to be reasonable in that we're still in program build mode with a whole new roster. Making the round of 16 seems pretty reasonable goal. If we have a good season and get like a six seed and go down fighting to a strong team in the round of 32, that's not the end of the world. But with this much money spent expectations sort of have to be somewhat in line with the spend, at least in my opinion. That's certainly fine, to each their own, and I'd be lockstep with you if we only spent like $13-14M. But with nearly $20M roster spend... I just think that changes things. I suspect the AD has higher expectations when they gave MBB at this much money. But I can only guess...
  12. Which of our current guys do you think Dorn will push out of the rotation? I suspect the staff has Harris penciled in as our spot up shooter.
  13. Woody is going to randomly flip on ESPN next year, see us playing two seven footers and absolutely lose his mind.
  14. I'm beginning to wonder if Dorn might stay on roster. Just a thought since I doubt we get anyone much better than him at this point. Another summer of training and who knows, but the kid can shoot and get to the rim when he needs to. With the attention our bigs are going to get in the paint, that should free up guys like him and if he becomes more consistent..look out.
  15. Yeah, him or the kid who just committed to Uconn... both probably to expensive i guess.
  16. 1 of the early portal kids I wanted to see the staff in on.
  17. Thinking it is one thing, expecting it is another. I’ll be happy being back in the tourney with some fun basketball along with a good recruiting class and a chance to retain the main contributors from our current roster. That alone is a massive step in the right direction. But then to your point, expectations should rise in year 3 where we’re a premium seed and a sweet 16 type season is a reasonable expectation. Edit to stay on topic: I love that every pick up we made are guys with multiple years. Means we can keep the players who pan out heading into next season which makes a massive difference.
  18. Probably hard to think of it that way because many good teams have retention and thus no need to be big spenders in the portal while others like us this year have to spend a lot for a new team that has no continuity to begin summer practice.
  19. The 4th leading scorer on the 11th place team in the Big 12 did pretty well for himself. We’ll see what Loucks does with him.
  20. Yes, I read it again that way and was thinking/hoping that the KJ connection was pulling him our way and he then said hmmmm..lol Maybe I read too much into that. lol
  21. Rancik reportedly headed to Florida State.
