  1. Past hour
  2. Got a feeling he'll be wearing No. 9 -- even if by accident. Equipment guy/team manager: "Hey Clemens, you got a preference for your jersey number?" Sokolov: "Nein." Equipment guy/team manager: "You got it!"
  3. Yesterday
  4. He’s 18 but likely super super raw for this year. So yes; Carr can earn his keep by finding a kid that is a big, athletic, and under the radar.
  5. Ryan Carr was hired for a reason and he's good. I think you can do more than hope in this case. He looks to be a "piece" at least, and looks at least as good as Bailey was and stronger.
  6. I like that contact around the rim doesn't seem to completely blow him up. For a kid who won't be counted on to play a ton yet, first glance is positive for sure.
  7. Until you see the foreign player on the court, always go by who has the better name. Which do you prefer: Clemens Sokolov or Vuk Lazerevic?
  8. Nebraska wins 5-0. After leading just 1-0 after 3, Nebraska scored 3 in its 4th and another in the 5th. In our 7th, Cooper walked and a Josie Bird double put runners on 2nd and 3rd with just 1 out. But Strader and Goins strikeouts ended our last hopes. We managed just 2 hits off Nebraska's ace.
  9. A longer highlight package from Mike. Obviously a long term play, but the 1st 3 things I look at with young project bigs are can he move his feet, can he fluidly change direction and does he fight the ball. In this kid’s case the answers look to be yes, yes and no. That’s a good jumping off point.
  10. I agree with all the question marks. But it’s the whole staff’s scout this time and you have to trust that they see something with the Lindsey/Mustaf/Harris combo the way they went after them. Jersey posted about it recently but others have too. It’s pretty wild we are poised to go from basically a team that shot some of the most 3’s and hardly any 2’s to a team with questionable 3 point shooting (even on low volume) that will probably live at the rim. If I’m being completely honest and it were any other team besides IU I’d probably say it reeks of an over-correction. But I’m perfectly happy to trust these guys one more year going into Y2. I’ll say that my optimistic disposition here is really helped along by Cig coming in and wining a National freaking Title in football. lol…
  11. Given that he can play on or off ball and is one of the best hand full of shooters in high school regardless of class would there is a better than decent chance that he makes that team.

  13. This smells like Drew forming a relationship with BeoBasket Agency. If im not mistaken, everyone in the NBA with a last name ending in kic, cic, vic and most of the ov's are clients or former clients. Maybe there was a flight to Belgrade after all. l I like this.
  14. Arizona added a 6’11” Pro league B big man today too. 11/9 on the same minutes. And being touted as a long range prospect. So that is another clear cut example of where this one stacks up.
  15. That was a first four game I think. Still a tournament game though. If my memory serves me, he led in the second half of his three losses. I was impressed with what he got out of last year's team. If he can be equally as impressive with this roster, we'll be pretty good. I'm having a hard time visualizing the offense right now though. Maybe something a little like this year's Wisconsin team?
  16. If this works out, get Coach an Adidas track suit. Run DDV!
  17. He really should have. And I think he realized too late but we had no BIG depth which handcuffed him. Hence the different strategy this time around. Not adding an extra capable big last season was a Crime against Humanity.
  18. Ohio State added a Foriegn big guy the same time we did. Who got the better player?
  19. If you remove the blow outs from the numbers, you're probably pretty close. I wonder why DD didn't try to play Alexis and Bailey together last year? Bailey was a top of the key guy that liked to get down hill and Alexis played mostly with his back to the basket.
  20. That’s kinda my point. Hope so. Carr getting his name attached to what appears to be a practice player strikes me. But, I guess that’s what the GM does. Find best value for the price you are willing to spend.
  21. The fact that the previous player we tried to grab was Wang, I would envision that we will be looking for player who can play the 4….but that leaves options of guys who could play the 4 and 5 or 3 and 4. There is something to be said about adding a combo forward who can hit from distance (although that might be Sisley).
  22. This could be close. My problem with the roster is I don’t LOVE Mustaf. So 28 minutes there is big. Nothing is changing that. I also wonder strongly about Harris. Major wildcard. 22 minutes there. I think Moody can push these 2. But I don’t think Karvala or Manhertz can. This the the crux of where my concerns lie. If Mustaf and Harris both end up being good/great everything settles in. Then if we run the 2 big lineup, which seems like our best lineup shooting becomes a weakness. I guess it is regardless. So, here’s where you trust to coach to have it all figured out but DeVries doesn’t give me those vibes.
  23. Knowing that Carr has a relationship with the agent, I’m hoping that the agent proved to Carr that this kid has a very high ceiling and is worth the investment.
  24. Good take. I don’t think we are aiming higher, though. Hope so. German B league pro translates to about D2 hoops in the states. Just an FYI. A 7 foot guy is nice to have on the bench so I don’t hate it. Weird one for Ryan Carr to get attached to. The only direct one I know of.
